The Bible even warned us about APC, but we obviously don't read
our bible. Open to Proverbs 24 vs 21 & 22. "21: My son, fear the Lord, and fear the king as well; do not associate with those that say 'CHANGE'. "22: For their calamity comes quickly ... and the disaster they both may bring" :Source : Holy Bible |

Following a motion by Senator Danjuma Goje on Wednesday for the passage of 2016 Appropriation of N6.07trillion and seconded by Senator Andy Uba, the Senate having been satisfied with sectoral explanations which show that the nation stands to benefit from the proposal, passed the budget into law. “That the Senate do consider the Report of the Committee on Appropriations on the 2016 Bill,” Goje urged. DAILY POST reports that while elucidating on the budget, Goje admitted that the budget being the first to be presented by APC-led administration was fraught with irregularities which he described as strange. He pointed those irregularities to be late presentation by the Executive, inconsistencies by Ministries, Departments and Agencies, inadequacy of revenue to simulate the economy as well as omission on personnel cost. In his report, Goje recommended that the subsequent budget should be brought to the National Assembly by the Executive in strict compliance with the processes so as to reduce volume of errors and to avoid instances where Ministers will deny knowledge of figures of the affected agencies as presented by the budget office. He added that government should shore up Capital Expenditure by reducing Recurrent Expenditure for massive infrastructural development of the nation. “Mr. President, Distinguished Colleagues, at this juncture, I want to recommend that subsequent budget should be brought in strictcompliance with the procedure so that we will not see Ministers denying their own budget before Committee on Appropriations,” Goje added. Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, however, expressed fears that omission of personnel cost which was reflected on the report was fundamental, urging the Senate for a redress so as not to be misinterpreted as a deliberate attempt by the Senate to withhold salaries of some Ministries. In his clarification, Goje confirmed that a window has been created by the Committee to mitigate the gap, hence there was nothing to fear by the affected agencies. “Distinguished Senators, the Joint Appropriation Committee has created a window where funds can be drawn by the federal government to pay staff salaries of those agencies,” he maintained. In line with the tradition, Senate President reads through the schedule, short and long title while insisting that section 318of the 1999 Constitution of the federal Republic as amended be complied with. “Distinguished Senators, government must comply with Section 318 of the 1999 Constitution which means the budget runs for 12 Calender months from March and ends in March the preceding year,” Saraki said. Saraki commended the Committee for a good job done on the budget in view of hiccups inherent in it while urging the full implementation by Executive so that it will support made in Nigeria goods. He hopes that 2017 Budget would be presented on time. Meanwhile, in a motion moved by the Senate Leader, Ali Ndume, asked that the plenary be adjourned till 2.00pm for adoption of voice votes. dailypost.ng/2016/03/23/breaking-senate-passes-n6-07-trillion-2016-budget/?utm_source=dlvr.it_dp1&utm_medium=facebook |

President Muhammadu Buhari has unreservedly condemned
Sunday's terrorist attack on the Grand Bassam Resort in Cote
D'Ivoire.
In a telephone call to President Alassane Ouattara after the attack,
President Buhari conveyed the sympathy of the Federal
Government and people of Nigeria to the people of Cote D'Ivoire as
they mourn their compatriots and foreign visitors who lost their
lives in the attack.
The President assured his Ivorian counterpart of Nigeria's full
solidarity and support as his country grapples with the
consequences of the heinous attack and strives to overcome the
new security challenges posed by the terrorist incursion.
Remarking once again that terrorism now transcends all national
boundaries, President Buhari restated his call for greater
international cooperation against terrorists and their sponsors.
"They have attacked a hotel in Mali, leaving 21 people dead. They
killed over 130 people in attacks on Paris and they murdered 28
persons in Burkina Faso.
"Terrorism does not respect territorial boundaries again. That is
why the world has to come together, present a common front and
deal with these merchants of evil," President Buhari said.
President Ouattara thanked President Buhari for Nigeria's
sympathy and solidarity.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Saturday said that President Goodluck Jonathan may be working towards a controversial poll and possibly, exit from office, the same way former Ivorian president, Laurent Gbagbo, did in his country. “It looks to me that the President is trying to playing Gbagbo. Gbagbo was the former President of Cote d’Ivoire and Gbagbo made sure he postponed the election in his country until he was sure he would win and then allowed the election to take place. He got an inconclusive election in the first ballot and I believe this is the sort of thing Nigeria may fall into if I am right in what I observed as the grand plan and then in the run-off, Gbagbo lost with 8 per cent behind Ouattara and then refused to hand over." http:///1uVWI3h |

If you were anywhere around Federal University of Technology Owerri, Imo State on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, you would have believed that one of the greatest miracle of the year had taken place when water suddenly started running out from a tree growing inside the premises of All Saints Chapel in the campus. According to an eye witness, the said miracle started in the morning forcing residents of the area, students and staff of the school to struggle for the water which they believed to be miracle water because of its location and mysterious source. The eye witness went on to say that even though the water was not tasted for toxicity, people were drinking it with the belief that it would have healing powers just like what has been seen in other parts of the country recently. source said that the struggle for the water came to a disappointing end at about 3:00pm in the afternoon, when the Estate and Works Department of the campus turned off their water supply forcing the ‘holy water’ to dry off within a short time. The so called ‘holy water’ brought hundreds of people to FUTO and many who had the water as well as those who came from a long distance but could not fetch before it dried up, were not able to hold the shame from the high level of #ignorance they have exhibited. It was later revealed that the water source was from a broken pipe laid on the same spot the tree had grown..... What a show!!!!! |
This is really funny though :DThis is really funny though
