Hi everyone, pls has anyone applied for PSW or any other visa with the partner not staying in the same address "on record".

Pls are they required to fill in the same address while applying?

Note they are married but staying in a students only apartment where only the student's address is recorded in the apartment while the partner uses another address for posts, banks etc

Seeking general advice on this.
Thank you

Would be hard to get finance.. if with a poor credit history and if on visa, your salary monthly is low, provisional licence or intl driver’s licence etc
May factors come into play
Thank you

Pls what's the range of cost for an road tax?
Someone mentioned he's paying 300plus and another said 20 yearly. What's the determining factor?

It is not your business if exchange rate increases after your submission.
No embassy does that.
Whatever the rate is on your submission date is what is obtainable for your application.
All consulates use OANDA and XE.
Have the correct amount of funds and that is sorted.
Why should you sit down everyday calculating funds with the market?
I think the op is referring to POF 28 days window not after submission

Hi everyone, I have got a question.

My school resumes today 16th of September, I got my CAS today. Is it okay to still apply for my visa even with these dates so close? My school start teaching on the 23rd of September. I plan on applying for the priority visa and doing a walk-in appointment. How realistic is this?

Looking forward to your responses
You can still apply. Just ensure you carry your school along via email

20hours is 53.3% of 37.5. So it's 0.533FTE. Which is basically 0.533×24,500 =13,058.5
Thank so much 🙏🙏

This would be difficult to ascertain, because one person's part time, could be different from the next person.......

Part time employee A, could only be working on Monday, whilst part time employee B, might be working on Monday & Tuesday.......
Hmmm true but salary should be same right 🤔

Goodenoch:
They usually advertise part-time roles in WTE (Whole time equivalent) terms. So if you see that the role is 0.5 WTE it means you’ll be working half the full time hours of that role and earning 0.5 of the salary (e.g 37.5/2 = 18.75 and 24,500/2 = 12,250).

If they don’t state the WTE, you’ll get the fraction yourself by dividing the full time hours in that role by the number of hours. So in your case if the full time hours in that role is 37.5, you’ll calculate 20/37.5 = 0.533. You can then multiply that by 24,500, which will get you £13,066.
Oh fab!!
Thank you 😎

Hi guys

Pls how do I properly calculate the part time salary of a role when only the full-time (37.5hrs) salary is posted?

Let's say you want to find out what the part time (20 hrs) salary for a 24,500 full time role. Is there a website or a calculator?

Perish this thought, it won't make you way richer because the employer contribution will not be paid to you and your own contribution will be taxed before you get it.

Is there anything you want to do now that you are not able to do because of the pension money that is not entering your account monthly?
Hmmm
Thanks for this

I opted out of my pension and took a refund of the pension paid in close to two years. Part of the money was deposited in LISA towards getting a mortgage.
As a single man, I should be able to afford a 3-bedroom End terrace building at 10% deposit in less than two years in the UK. Plus other fees associated with getting a mortgage.
Oh so when you opt out,you get all your reimbursements 🤔

Others have given good considerations. In addition to tax and employers contribution lost on pulling out, also factor in NI you'd pay on the money. It also depends on how robust your pension is. If it's a civil service or NHS pension, they're pretty good. If it's the minimal 5 % from you and 3% from provider, then it's OK but not as good. Manytimes it's not a good idea but everyone's situation is different.

Irrespective, if your employer uses a private provider, its worth checking the fund they invest your pension in. Many providers would invest your contributions in very low growth offerings e.g bonds for the first 5 years cos they're worried people might be scared of the volatility of higher growth options and pull out. The downside is those good returns are most beneficial when people are younger as they have time to compound. I have an adhoc job and enrolled under NEST for it. I looked this year and saw my pension lost money net fees over the last year which was annoying as that was a very bullish year for the market. Had to change what I'm invested in with the aim to leave once I conclude the role.
Very detailed.
Thank you 👍
