I have over 5 years post study gap (roughly 6). Worked in 3 places in all after NYSC.
Do I attach employment letters for all 3? I also plan to get recommendation letter from my current employer.

I just tried making payment for my dependant ( wife ) now and boom! This is the amount I'm charged to pay . Screenshot attached. Please 🙏 anyone in the house knows the current amount to be paid ? Or has the dependants IHS fees changed because of the new ban policy ? I first calculated it on the IHS calculator and it was £705 few weeks ago. But it's changed to $2716 now .

I just retried now, on the UKVI site, still 705 and in pounds.
Why is yours showing in $ tho.

What do you advise for people who plans to pay Visa fees and IHS before the POF matures.
More like starting the application and paying for these fees and uploading all documents excluding the POF.

Or does the system allows all documents upload before payment? I'm this inquisitive cos I'm a first time applicant.

I just read that the CBN has devalued the naira from 461 to 631naira to a dollar. That should translate to about 787 to 800 naira to a dollar.
This could spell doom fir those still processing form A and even me that my POF is till running at my estimated 600 naira to a pound.
The CBN haven't updated their website anyway and OANDA rate hasn't changed too anyway and I just pray status quo remains for the next few weeks.

Not sure if this question is for you or your brother.

1. If you used the IHS calculator and put the right dates/information then it is correct. Study visa usually have additional 4months included when approved, so the IHS will be more than a year actually. The figure you quoted seems about right

2.Unfortunately the only expedition you can do is to keep checking for early biometric dates
In terms of decision making after biometric there are options for priority (average of 5days decision wait time) and super priority (average of 24hrs decision wait time) but these are not guaranteed. If the ECO needs more time to assess your application you will get an NSF mail

Hello guys I greet you all.

So I will be applying for a student visa in a couple of days and I need guidance as to what to upload. I (female) is the MA and I will be applying with my partner.

All my documents, international passport, offer letter and CAS is carrying my full name (maiden name). I got married October ending 2022 and I recently do a change of name and newspaper publication 8days ago.

1) I want to know if there's any need submitting the affidavit for change of name and newspaper publication since all my documents are still in my name? Asking because I do not want to complicate things for myself.

2) when filling the visa form and the asked for my name will I have to fill in all of my name as it's on my documents or I will have to use my husband's surname since I have changed my name?

3) My husband was living in a town close to my town before we got married and before our marriage he was planning to come settle in the town where I live. After our marriage he relocated to my town and started living with me due to house agents stress/wahala though he takes care of the bills anyways. Our registry certificate carries his former address and also showing our current address as my address. I hope this wont be a red flag?

4) Lastly, these are the list of documents I plan to upload for him during the visa application. His international passport, MA (POF), Consent letter to use POF, Home office consent letter, TB result, Marriage certificate, family pictures. Is this okay? He's scared and wants us to pay an agent to help us with the application but I'm scared of using an agent.

what I mean is MA's total fee is in Dollar account, Dependants total fee is in pounds account but same account name.

Is the payment made separately at the point of paying for IHS and visa or it is a cummulative payment?

No disadvantage. You can either apply together or separately.
The only thing you need to watch out for will be your finances. Keep them in order to avoid suspicions of recycled funds.

After a lot of research , I saw that getting justice for errors made by your case handler was not a very discussed topic . Not too many people had any proper information and those that did just mumbled everything into very lengthy write ups . I just ignored everything and decided to send a mail to UKVI . I just replied the rejection mail I received and I got a response on the steps to take to get a review , but they wouldn’t review it fast . But what did I have to lose na , so I applied for a review and made the payment, I attached all my evidences and just forgot about it . I was working one day and I saw a mail with an apology attached . Then I received a refund for the review application I sent in . Then I got another mail apologizing and asking me for an account to make a refund of my initial visa application and then another mail telling me that they had removed the visa refusal from my travel history . I was angry , disappointed, and just plain irritated. I informed the school about the reversal of the decision and they advised me to defer the initial admission so they could issue me a new offer . I got the offer , received an updated CAS and then proceeded to apply for a fresh visa . 7 days after , I received a mail that my passport was ready for collection. DHL delivered the very next day , I opened the package , opened my passport and I saw the VISA. I wasn’t excited , I didn’t feel any relief , there’s was no sense of conquering . I just felt blank . I’m in the UK now and I don’t feel any different. I still wish I could meet that case worker in person and just ask what he/she was thinking or drinking when handling my initial application . I just want to know if UKVI applied any sanction to the case worker for making such an error .

Anyway , I wish everyone applying for a visa the best of luck . And please put it at the back of your mind , it’s human beings reviewing your applications and they can make mistakes . And if you ask me , most of those decisions are taken At TLS . Just my thoughts .

I also used Form A but initiated it through Flywire as my school doesn't accept payment through Form A directly.

If you are planning to use Form A, the best time to initiate the transaction was yesterday to meet up; today is still not bad, but please don't wait till tomorrow so that you won't have to wait for a long time before you are debited, as the waiting period is now something else.

NB: The 3 months I gave you before was because I taught you had already applied; if you have not, it might be longer, as most banks have yet to debit those who applied since January.

You know it is in different stages, the last stage that is when you will be debited might take up to three months, also if u are using flywire you might wait for additional 2weeks after you have been debited for the funds to get to Flywire and Flywire credit your school.

Yes, you can initiate the transaction if you don’t have money in account yet but make preparation to get the money in as soon as possible and also there are also charges that will be deducted before the real money you want to pay, make that one available in your account so that the process can continue even if the money is not in your account yet.

2. It depends on the bank o, visit the bank branch you want to initiate the transaction they will give you.

But it’s not a LETTER in quote, for most banks, it’s like a form with the heading “AUTHORITY TO DEBIT AND REMIT FUNDS” which will be given to you by your bank to fill and you will sign, submit for the processing.
