AyaSho:I used Airfrance for my trip in October and my return 2months after in Dec. The going was ok but I didn't like their ground representatives at Baltimore. Baby luggage is only 20kg. Careful when booking your baby's ticket. In-flight service was ok. |

if u go thru old posts, ul find where i gave info on hospitals in Maryland including Docs. in truth, Maryland is a peculiar state. Its not a place to birth if u have a tight budget or looking for a total package. maximum discounts from hospitals is 2%, but obgyn doc are more flexible with discounts for self pay. Hospital bill was about 10,200.00 just got another bill of 1400 from the so called hospital pediatrician. but i had family there, so when i added up all i could have spent if i had used either Arizona or Texas, it came to almost the same. again, its really not about getting info about hospitals or doctors. U need to consider the county where your relatives stay COs Maryland is very big. |
Your baby is very normal. Its a new world for them so all she is doing is observing. Firstimer: |
Sure they do. mine did at that age and recall feeling dizzy too. Plus he is a boy. just waiting for him to be 2months and Il start him on formula. jam04: |
fairyprincess:........haba. Greedy relatives and friends and they still, accommodated you. C'mon, that's pretty harsh no matter what. It takes alot to accommodate you,I hope u knw that. Just the bills from your stay is enough help. From, your statement, its no wonder why some people never allow a second visit from preggy relatives. Be thankful atleast |
Julietjay:kindly go through pages 1- 227. You will find all you need to know and much more. |
ubigurl:no. But Baltimore is cheaper than where I stayed. for Baltimore try Moore obgyn and he uses prince Georges. You could also try holycross hospital. they may give y a bill that's high but if ur delivery is smooth, UL be surprised at the final invoice. again, I think you should also ask your family for recommendations. |

just put to bed over the weekend and my bill was about 6.3k. My doc was 2k. V.birth no epidural. but truth is am staying with family. Most I spent was. About 200d for few taxi trips for shopping wen I had no free ride and a few meals outside. So my expenses was very limited. if your budget can carry it, u may not exceed 15k in total. staying alone wasn't an option and I don't regret it cos I have a fantastic support system here and sake for an unplanned expense that occurred we wld still being within our target |
ubigurl:what county are u staying at? 1) Holy Cross hospital 2) prince Georges Hospital these are in Baltimore 3) university of Maryland upper Chesapeake hospiital 4) medstar Franklin square hospital these are in Harford county ob/gyn:1/2-Moore ob/gyn ob/gyn: 3- Susquehanna medical centre, Dr.Bahm VIP* Maryland isn't like most states where they really give credence to self pay. highest discount possible is 2%for prompt pay upon discharge and not all hospital honor that. But u can get discounts from your ob/gyn also, cos Maryland is expensive, they rarely have international patient, hence its almost difficult to get information on estimated cost of delivery. Had a really tough time too don't have info on accommodation. hope this helps |
Your POE is the first airport u step ur foot on. So for all those who booked Delta Houston Atlanta......its Houston. Otherwise, Delta flights are Atlanta bound. So there is no circumventing here! |
Its not only the dollars you should declare oh. Even the naira change. I had 300 naira and didn't declare it. Infact I forgot cos I didn't have any naira but at the airport I just took 500 from my husband to buy gum. Completely forgot I had 300. The officer at Atlanta asked me to convert it to dollars. Told him its about 2 dollars. Gave me a the look of u lied. meanwhile someone asked ant connecting flights. They don't care about that. Infact if you mention it u'll get them infuriated. So you should ensure that you have at least 3hrs to your connecting flight. came in a few weeks ago thru Atlanta.was the only pregnant woman in the plane. Used air France. Just before the flight landed, I asked for water, brushed my teeth, used my small towel with a liquid soap(type u get at the hotels) washed my face...generally just freshened up. So when the flight landed, I walked as fast as I could and was abt the first. Was asked the address of my destination and reason for my trip. Got stamped 6months. Got to the last exit point and was sent to secondary inspection. Met people there but I knw my connecting flight was about 2 hrs away so I calmed down. A guy was all frantic cos he had like a few mins to his connecting flight but the white there didn't even bulge intact he even chastised him and told him that he has a job to do. He was eventually left to go. Prayed another guy wld attend to me...a Chines looking guy but that mean elderly guy did. Asked a few questions including nija addy, hubby work place etc...then ransacked my luggage like he kept something there himself,I even wanted to get something that fell, the look he gave me while telling me not to touch anything in my bag was scary enough. Eventually gave me a form to fill again and left me to go.infact they ask u if u packed ur luggage including all hand luggages oh before they start searching. all in all.....id say being turned back is very painful. I was ready to shout if they had attempted to cos I declared my intention very clearly at the embassy. Drink loads of water in the plane...even days before. Ensure u are hydrated. Don't sit for long hours, Keep walking, squatting, stretching all thru the flight. Not sure I sat for more than 2hrs stretch in my almost 18hra trip. Didn't care if I disturbed the air hostess or other passengers. Kept walking from my seat to the back. Did it so many times all thru the flight from Lagos to Paris and then to Atlanta. sorry for my plenty grammar but wanted to give back too. |
