Interesting. I will address your point one after the other. First let me clarify by saying that by 'akpu-eaters' I am referring to our chestbeating flatthead compatriots from the East. You know - our 'hardworking' country men who tell you they do import and export until you find out that what they are importing and exporting is illegals drugs and counterfeit goods.

1. Your First paragraph - your contention is that the amala-eaters are nothing but local champions considering the level of competition they have in the South and what you believe to be their 'inability' to deal a permanent political death blow to the Northerners. You are right but only to a point. It is true that the flattheads of the East are no match to the coneheads of the West. However, you forget that this was not the case before the civil war. In the late 50s when the flattheads starting to mention their desire to leave Nigeria, who was the most supportive of their quest? It was the coneheads. Even before 1958, the amala-eaters KNEW that the flattheads would fail woefully but recognize that the defeat of the flattheads would create a vacuum in the South that they would gladly fill. And as history showed, the said vacuum was created and the amala-people gladly filled it up. If you are a strong student of history, you should know that before the war there was a process in place to relocate the capital back to Calabar away from Lagos. Well the war ended all that - without the Biafra quest, encouraged by the amala people, the nerve center of Nigeria's economy would be Calabar and not Lagos.
Now to issue of amala-eaters vs tuwo-downers: First what makes you think 'weakening' the Northerner almajiris is in in the interest of the amala-people? The amala-people know that NO ONE hates (with a deep passion) the flattheads more than the tuwo-downers of the North. Purely Machiavellian - My enemy's (remember the flatthead have sworn to hate the amala-eaters for the rest of eternity till hell freezes over) enemy is my friend - so why weaken the haram bigots?. Secondly, if indeed you believe that the amala-eaters have lost to the Northerner bigots (I don't see the evidence for it), then you have to admit that while the akpu-eaters have lost the war (Biafra anyone?) to the boko bigots the amala-eaters are STILL in it and gaining ground day by day.
And on the issue of Judas lets be honest every Nigerian tribe has Judas. However the flattheads are heads and shoulders above everyone else in this department. It is save to say that there are more Judas in Mbaise ALONE than the entire amala-region of South West Nigeria.

Concerning Tinubu - you have to doff your hat to ANY man who has the power to initiate the ARREST of the Senate President of any Republic let alone Nigeria simply because he was not his ideal candidate. No wonder he is referred to as Jagaban of Africa. And if you think that Buhari does not also want to get rid of Saraki (who by the way is another conniving and Machiavellian amala-eater) then you are still learning politics.

Concerning how the amala-eaters sent the Biafran troops who dared to cross into the amala-region back East with their tails between their legs. The excuse of the cowardly general does NOT hold water. In war you fight to win and if you face a superior enemy you send your BEST. Perhaps Ojukwu really believed that the amala people were cowardly. Well the historical unfolding of events proved him wrong, which makes him a dumb and stupid general who could not separate fiction from reality.

Concerning Awolowo - indeed he laid the foundation. However, others have built on it. Don't forget that Awolowo's Nigeria was different from Tinubu's or Fayose's Nigeria so don't expect Jagaban or Faye to thread the same path as the inventor of amala-politics himself, Awo. Jagaban is moving his people forward slowly but surely within the context of a Nigeria riddled by Boko Haram in the North and the agitation for cessation from the East and South. The amala-people have shown an ability to forge in path irrespective of the socio-political and ideological terrain.

I will stop here and allow you to digest this very balanced serving of historical/political/tribal/inter-tribal/Nigerian reality.

Your really think they are docile? I actually think that's part of their guile. Amala people ONLY show you exactly what they want you to see. Ojukwu also thought they were 'weak' until he tried to colonized them by force. History showed how they sent him back to the East with his tails between his legs -so they had no problem defending their region with remarkable success when they were invaded by a hostile military. They are the true political magicians of Nigeria - the more you look the less you see with these people. I am willing to bet that even this sudden call for cessation is part of a larger plot - somehow, I think they are masters of getting political advantage from the slightest of 'situations.'

And this is why I believe other tribes can learn from the amala-eaters. Especially those akpu-eating flattheads from the East. They need to learn to be strategic and Machiavellian like the amala-eaters. Chest beating and empty boasts do not work to gain you advantage in Nigeria. Look at the richest men in Nigeria, Dangote, Otedola et. al - see how they still act like they are average guys who are still trying to make it. The Nigerian Zeigeist opposes braggadocio and wanton arrogance. And as long as chestbeating flattheads continue to act in this way, they will always remain 2nd class citizens in this country. Alas, I suspect the akpu-eaters recognize this hence their wanton cry for the return of Biafra.

IF only we knew that the entire world was watching us, we would have realised that it is too early to begin to derail the anti-graft war, which we all agreed upon a few months back.

This is the very nature of most wars – they start small like the proverbial madman’s fire, where he claims to have only struck a match here; but he knows nothing about the conflagration over there.

Except we act fast, the theatricals we see today are capable of many perhaps unintended consequences – our war against corruption is at risk; and our once-revered institution of the National Assembly may also be consumed.

At the higher echelon of our society, we see a grand design to start a scattered fight that will be raging in multiple fronts at the same time. The fight will be so scattered that it will become uncontrollable. The emerging scenario portends a frightening glimpse:

There is an alleged case of forgery of the Senate Rules against a section of the Senate leadership; The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, is questioning Mrs. Toyin Saraki, wife of the Senate President, over some stupendous wealth accumulation when her husband was the Governor of Kwara State; Senator Godswill Akpabio is currently being investigated by the EFCC over allegation of corruption while he was the Governor of Akwa-Ibom State.

Like the case of engineering the engineer instead of his engine, a petition against the EFCC boss, Ibrahim Lamorde, over corruption charges suddenly lands in the Senate. A fast probe is ordered into the petition; in a manner suggestive of people running away from an approaching tsunami; the Senate Committee starts hearing the petition and in the meantime, the Committee walks due process on its head.

This has irked some of the Senators and there is a big division in the ranks of the Senators. Suddenly, there is now an unholy alliance between Senator Akpabio with his group of PDP Senate Caucus on the one hand, and the Senate APC Unity Forum, on the other. The alliance is against the Senate Committee probe on Lamorde. And so suddenly, too, we see another very unholy alliance between Lamorde and Akpabio. Both men are now on the same page and a possible plan here could be some horse-trading on the Nation’s fortunes.

Apart from the fact that the petition against Lamorde failed the test of due process, it was like spitting into the mouth of a man who was already intent on vomiting. Apparently, Akpabio saw a window of opportunity in the ensuing confusion and built a connection supportive of the old aphorism that an enemy’s enemy is a friend – all in a conspiracy against Nigeria! The foregoing narrative is what we call rumble in the jungle.

These are politicians who are yet to know that it is not always smart to be smart. Nigeria must act quickly to stop the looming embezzlement of public trust. None of our fights against corruption shall be lost to intrigues!
For a start, Lamorde must step aside immediately to allow for proper investigation of the petition against him.

Again, Lamorde has ostensibly outstayed his welcome in the EFCC, having held sway since 23 November 2011. The point has been reached where he might even be unable to answer the supplementary questions. For instance, was this the same man under whom the EFCC went to sleep during the Jonathan era only to engage the speed gear as soon as Buhari came in? History shows no mercy for duplicity. His continued stay in the EFCC would clearly be a hindrance.

We must quickly shop for a no-nonsense replacement for him. This replacement shall be someone who understands the nature of the war before us and work as such – We must kill corruption before it kills us!
The Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki, should have known that a conflict of interest situation was waiting by the corner to ambush him – sitting in judgment over the case of the man in whose hands was the case of corruption against his wife?
We question the rationale behind the Senate constituting itself into a court of first instance in the fight against corruption.

Evidently, the accusations against Lamorde are weighty enough to warrant thorough investigations. This is a case in which the Chief Executive Officer, Panic Alert Security System, PASS, Dr. George Uboh, is alleging that Lamorde failed to remit over N2.051 trillion recovered by the anti-graft agency between 2004 and 2013 to the federation account. Uboh also speaks of the diversion of another sum of more than N1 trillion by the EFCC.

Uboh’s petition should be sent to where it rightly belongs – the EFCC, an EFCC without Lamorde. The undue haste with which the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions went into the matter bespeaks the Committee as acting out a script that had been written elsewhere. Still more ludicrous, and indeed nauseating, is the fact that a particular Senator who appeared more like a back-man, and stayed glued, to Mrs. Saraki during her visit to the EFCC is now in the frontline of Lamorde’s prosecution (or persecution?) in the “Senate court”.

Where is justice coming from?In the particular case of the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Akpabio, the EFCC is investigating him on series of petitions by the Abuja-based Law Firm of Leo Ekpenyong and Associates, alleging that while he was the Governor of Akwa-Ibom State, he abused his office by stealing public funds from which he built sprawling estates in many parts of the country.

In this apparent rumble in the jungle, nothing shall be left to chance. Every case must be religiously prosecuted!
Lest we forget, Uboh’s conclusion is instructive: “If I am right, arrest Lamorde; and if I am wrong arrest me”.

We are reminded that it is not a crime to render service to one’s fatherland. Those false alarmists out there whose stock-in-trade is to deliberately smear others who serve their people must also be adequately punished.

Your recent appointments have caused uproar in
every part of Nigeria. I am not against your
appointments neither am I in doubt of your
resolve for a better Nigeria but you must run an
all inclusive government that will not portray you
as an ethnic bigot as many believe.

During the electioneering campaign, i quietly
supported you and many times engage people on
your agenda for the country and the need to
have a man like you steering the ship of Nigeria.
I was re-christened 'Buhari' 'Sai Baba' and other
names that showed me as a Buharist. Mr.
President it was not an easy road to take. I was
called a traitor cos i come from the south south.
Many really had nothing incriminating against you
or accusation of corruption against you, they
only centered it on the reason that you are an
ethnic and religious bigot.

I could remember when Jega was announcing
the result, then, i was in one of the South
Eastern State and after you were declared winner
and i said 'YES CHANGE IS HERE' , one guy
nearly attacked me. He called me names and
asked me to keep quiet or else he will injure me.
I just left the scene quietly to avoid trouble this
is not with many numerous "abeg leavam" from
many onlookers. Mr. President that's how rough
the road was supporting you.

After you assumed office, i still have to always
defend every step you take because people have
known me as your supporter so any wrong you
do, people call for my head or gather to mock
me.

Baba, your latest appointments was a joke taken
too far. Your party was not aware and they all
came from the north. Today many mock us your
ardent supporters. 'We no tell you' is the greeting
i 've been receiving since today. 'Buhari cannot
change' 'Na him people him go favour'

even though you don't want to give the
appointments known figures in South south and
East, you could have given it to someone else. At
least one between Chief of Staff and SGF. Mr.
President Who are your advisers? Did you show
them the list? Did you consider their opinion? Or
you just went ahead and took the decision all by
yourself. If the later is what has birthed this
recent national outcry, then Mr. President it was
not a good one.

I have just been wondering what Ogbonaya Onu,
Rochas Okorocha, Chris Ngige, Joe Igbokwe, and
other Igbo men who took the risk in supporting
you will be going through in the hands of their
people. They were called different names yet
they believed in this course. Today it is as if
they made mistake doing so. The shame,
mockery and insult they will receive because of
these recent appointments is unimaginable.

Mr. President, we are not happy and we implore
you to thread carefully in national dealings as not
to fuel tribal crisis or do what will make we your
supporters regret giving you our backing amidst
danger. Please seek the input of your party
members in further appointments and remember
you 'belong to nobody and belong to everybody'.

Jonathan quickly became a useless leader because he did not have vision or wisdom, so making things work correctly or making good decisions became a major challenge during the last administration.
In fact, for the past 20 years, things in general and also in all areas in Nigeria have no been done correctly or accordingly. Any sensible individual understands this facts and needs no explanation why president Buhari continues to make changes....It is simply part of house cleaning.
