Na wah ooooo.see educative and informative thread between freddy and odilibe .what as Amos 5 got to do with this pls let us step up an go hunting fringe satellites we can lean more doing that.Enough of this my signal goes red or if yes dish size and signal percentage. To enjoy throughly FTA you need big dish and go feed hunting.10E , 7e and 25.5e you have sports feed there for epl, uefa,fa,europa ,wba, tennis, etc.

odilibe you may re-try hotbird i guess the signal should be high now because we are approaching dry season. My percentage currently is 77% on 3m with 10719 with our common fuji lnb.

Hello thea...you right thea...feed hunting is great to get all live sports and I have noted 10E has loads of them......hope you are getting some.. as to 13e you got a good signal on 3M....am not gettin any on 3.8m with the same lnb plus am 6° below you undecided

55 dollars is cheap for HD channels per yr..I am still targeting 7east ..as my receiver has steady updates on 7east!I think 6m dish may give you Hotbird..lol

Yeah its cheap considering the number of channels....20 plus HD channels

If you nab 7east with the 300cm am sure al get 13e....as we are sharing opposite senarios with the two sats coz of our locations....

worse come to worse back to the workshop for the fabrication smiley

you are right inverto black has more gain than Fuji!but inverto black lnb throat is wider than Fuji so the feed may not fit!..best option is to remove the inverto lnb cap without cutting it...and attach fuji feed in inverto lnb throat..and see if it fits.by this you will not ruin the lnb! but if you have invacom C120 feed it will be the best! see modified inverto pics..I got from a UK forum..

I was inclined to do the same coz I have the invacom C120 lnb which is underperforming very much as compared to the fuji quad.....37% vs 52% on the satlink 6906....the question still lingering on the throat length ....

plus I have noted some transponders are not coming in on the fuji unless I insert a line aplifier....is this lnb halfway bitten the dust?

..are myhd free channels or pay monthly! I tracked badr with my cousins 3m dish and digisat twin lnb in Onitsha/Nigeria, where aljazeera 11334H27500 appeared to be strongest tp on 26east in respect to fringe TP.though I didn't tweak lnb to get other channel on that sat! just for fun I moved dish to 13east ..hit the bird within 5minutes of tracking with sat finder frequency 11334 appeared to be strongest tp on Hotbird...hotbird is more closer than that badr..lol,returned dish to nilesat and hit 76% on 11766/27500 on SRT 4665*/dvbs receiver, 47% on ws-6906 sat metre!
scanned some frequency, using Strong receiver!

MY-HD channels are pay TV which amounts to 55$ per year....you are lucky u still dancing on 13east tried with the 380cm and failed bt am getting Badr 26e....have you ever tried Eutelsat 7E? you should try it for digiturk....if you nail it al embark on 13e till I sweat blood n tears lol

looks like prime focus lnb ..you don't need to cut it!

Yeah its a prime focus lnb bt its spoilt....the second reason to cut is the inverto black has more gain than the fuji.....the question is how to fit the fuji feed perfectly on the inverto without ruining it grin grin
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by Freddygaz(m): 9:56am On Nov 07, 2014
My-Hd receiver to watch Hd channels on Badr 26E

Satellite TV Technology / Re: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by Freddygaz(m): 9:41am On Nov 07, 2014

you have to cut off only the scalar ring or where the ku lnb cap ends! then when i attached a flat c band lnb scalar ring to the Ku lnb holder on prime focus dish, there was an improvement....I would have post PIC but I am not close to the dish at moment..

So it means the inverto throat shud b kept to its maximum minus the conical scaler.....and place the flat scaler without its throat....take a look of the flat scaler that I cut....

Satellite TV Technology / Re: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by Freddygaz(m): 9:42pm On Nov 06, 2014
odilibe:
..using a cut offset lnb on a prime focus dish with attached C band scalar ring can reduce noise and improve signal quality on fringe receptions!

wanted to try the same with inverto single and fuji cut feed...share the pics about the length of the throat

came to notice that the single fuji has an extra scaler ring than the twin and quad....so the single might perform better by a good margin grin grin

Managed to nab Badr 5 the pan arab beam including the My Hd channels in Eldoret Kenya using a 180cm prime focus dish

The signal is good there even with a 90cm I was able to get afew tp's like 11334V 27500 hosting the Aljazeera News package... smiley

The sat is just 4yrs old may be the problem is transponder power plus increased dish size of 130 to 150cm at 38dBW in Kenya!where there will be a decrease of -(minus)38dBW which will result in further increase of dish size for other parts of Kenya which is not in coverage zone

I just checked flysat and I found out that Irib bein sports has new HD channels on Asia sat 7@100.5 c band which covers Kenya encrypted on biss!

happy haunting!
you are right Thea bro...it seems they have made the beam tighter coz we are struggling with Badr too
For beinsports its on Asia sat 5 on 100°E and on C band that doesn't cover Kenya but cuts Ethiopia in half....some Asian guys here are using dishes in excess of 6M to receive it plus its sister satellite on 105°E cool

Satellite TV Technology / Re: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by Freddygaz(m): 9:38pm On Sep 24, 2014
odilibe: The 2.4m guy must be a novice..from map,the beam covers 50% of Kenya and Uganda..that means there is a chance of receiving the signal in Uganda and Kenya!
From the footprint below the sat is Arabsat 5A that shows covers half of kenya.....actually the guy with 240cm was Kung'u who got two transponders carrying some feed channels....guessing the age of the sat is playing a major role in its weak beam smiley

Satellite TV Technology / Re: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by Freddygaz(m): 2:10pm On Sep 22, 2014
GeorgeD1: Next, I will be posting screen shots of various satellites positions and channels.
And of course my annual list of tracking frequencies for C - band and KU DTH satellites applicable to South, East and
West. Compilation in progress. Stay TUNED! smiley

Thats so intriging...waiting for the reception details of hot bird and the astras grin
Happy hunting

konami001:

I saw a house for sale and i saw through the fence that there was a big dish inside... i was looking for 3m that time to use for OSN/Nilesat... the compound was a very big compound and the dish appeared to me as a 3m.... i arranged with the agents and i paid for the dish, it was when i went back to the house to carry it i met the shock of my life... The dish was so big that we could not even carry it into the back of the van... it took about 15 men to lift the dish into the van.... then, during installation, i needed a crane to hang it up on the stand.. i will upload a pic of the dish later for all to see... I have been using the dish for more than 4 yrs... very solid dish...

ths a great dish thea....Hot bird is the limit.....here in E.Africa its a no go zone grin

yeah canal+sports is running on hotbird-13east under cyfra+, while fox sports is on sky Italia package...any dvB receiver can track hotbird -13east cos 90% of packages on hortbird-13east are running on dvbs/ mpeg2 format....but these channels are $crambled and few of those packages speak English lol ,like cyfra+ ..you may lock them with 3m dish!
Hello thea....I got a 3.8M dish and ddnt manage to hit the bird tho am 6° south of you guys....do I need a large dish or giveup alltogether? :/

eerekake: House,i've tracked Irib tv3 and varzesh,i want to try my hand on Ptv sports.I've a 4m dish that i want to refurbish and align the focal length. Can 4m dish bring down the bird in yenagoa?

The beam covers part of Africa

...here in Kenya PTV sports is gotten with a 180cm pan....for the western part of africa you may need a bigger dish 3m and above as its a C band fridge reception....happy hunting

Satellite TV Technology / Re: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by Freddygaz(m): 7:33am On Aug 20, 2014
odilibe: yeah I am OK mehn...
looks like your are close to the beam those yahsat transponders looks very terrible for fringe reception..
You are right....am getting a maximum of 63% quality on a good day on 4922 it also drops to 60%

seems like you locked 7.5west or 8west! from your location just checking...
Actually its Yahsat for now the East beam.... smiley long time how you doing?

Yonderguy: I don't know if this is anywhere or anyhow helpful but I will post it nonetheless. MBC is back on 7.3°W on a different Tp to 12560 v 27500. I will just say blind scan your receiver on 7.3°W. Sorry I can't give the Tp now. Thanks!

Actually the frequency is 11902H 27500.....receiving it in East Africa smiley
