My glass of wine mistakenly poured on the keyboard of my laptop and I immediately turned it over for the wine to outflow and the system has refused to start up. Anyone with useful suggestions on how to resolve this issue. Thanks. |
erico2k2: ok You are sorted now I take it.Thanks for your inputs. number issue is sorted. It's now another headache of not being able to drive the car until new plate number is issued. this is due to new law in rivers state prohibiting use of temporary plate number to drive prior to when the new plate number which takes more than 2 weeks is processed. Licensing office informed that any attempt to driving with temporary plate number will attract a fine of 30k to the police. I cannot understand where this nation is heading to when unnecessary laws are being created for the corrupt policemen to exploit innocent citizens. |
erico2k2: aint that ur VIN?No. Got the right number retrieved directly from the manufacturer. |
Marpol: Don't bother urself. Just put nil where the engine number is required. That is what they did to mine an no policeman has ever stopped me to ask for engine number. The VIN is the most important bro. After many attempts i managed to call through to nissan USA and they use the VIN as reference to retrieve the engine number for me. This was possible given that the vehicle just arrived from the US with complete documentation and the engine hasn`t been replaced. |
Hi all, please I need help on locating the engine number of the 2003 Nissan xterra vehicle. Please share how/where you found your car engine number. I need it for registration purpose to avoid police headache. Thanks |
The engine number of my first car - Nissan maxima vehicle, was located easily on the engine and is in a similar format as VGxxxx..E. The only difference is that the nissan maxima's is 11 digits while the xterra's is 12 digits. |
nissparts: http://acroeng.adobe.com/Test_Files/byteserving/opt//2001-Nissan-Xterra.pdfFound this by the driver`s door and seems to be the one: VG33DE3275CC. WHat do you think? |
nissparts: http://acroeng.adobe.com/Test_Files/byteserving/opt//2001-Nissan-Xterra.pdfThis booklet is part of the documetation that came with the vehicle. In fact, we have used this diagram together with a mechanic to no success as we didn't want to disassemble parts for that purpose. Seems it can't be seen without opening up some parts so the only option is to make up some numbers. Really appreciate your help. |
nissparts: If you dont find it in the location earlier posted then go to rear of the engine just above the point where the transmission attaches, a little to the passenger side. You should see a plate stamped on the block with the serial. May be covered up with dirt though. Thanks for the prompt response nissarts. i will check that out now. Registering with a fictitious number would be the only option to avoid police headache if the correct number is not located by Monday. |
Kindly assist if you can. 2 mechanics have attempted without luck. The vehicle can't be registered as a result. Thanks 4wd, automatic 3.3L. |
Hei, i am facing the same challenge please share with me if you have managed to locate the number. |
The number was searched at mechanic workshop without luck. I tried this night with torch light but didnt spot the number. Found a 9digit number starting with BPO...... which is unlikely to be the one as I noticed while browsing that the number starts either with KA or VG depending on the engine type. I spoke to another xterra car owner and he had same issue and he registered his leaving the engine number section blank that if queried by police he will ask them to find the number..lol. i am not ok this way. Any more directive would be highly appreciated. |
Nissparts, many thanks. Following the picture you sent it means that some parts must be opened up in order to view the number? Could it be possible to retrieve the engine number from the manufacturer by using the VIN? |
Nice feedbacks guys, highly appreciated. Can you also assist me with where to locate the engine number on the engine block? I have been browsing around the engine but can't get hold of the number. Only VIN is available on the documentation. |
Nissparts: can you comment on the link below. Thanks https://www.nairaland.com/1352077/what-should-aware-nissan-xterra |
What is the solution to the issue you have mentioned above? I have purchased the car already so I need to be prepared if that eventually happens. |
Car purchased, thanks for your responses. |
platinumricky: Thanks for your response. It's the 3.3L V6 variant, 4wd, 4spd Auto. |
@Ojmaroni247: why is 2003 highlander priced at 1.4m? what is wrong with it? |
Your comments are highly appreciated. |
