The world footballers association has said in a statement that instead of Africans and other nationals playing for some clubs in Malta, they would be better off playing in Africa and other countries and this was confirm by a Nigerian player. Footballers are advised to stay away from joining these two clubs in Malta because of their unprofessionalism. The two clubs in Malta’s 12 –team premier league from evidence shows that the treat foreign players poorly and these includes players from Nigeria, United States and other nationals. The two clubs are Mosta FC and Pembroke Athleta. It is on record that the hardly pay their players on time and even housed their players in cramped conditions. The amount of complains by the players couldn’t changed this, rather they get threatened to be sacked. FiFpro has spoken to some players and found out that foreign players about 15 or more are squeeze into four –bedroom house after signing to play for Mosta, there isn’t a central heating unit and the players are left in the cold and at Pembroke Athleta salaries are not paid on time and even the players complain of non-payment of salaries is greatly ignored. According to the 2016 released FiFpro global employment Report, the percentage of players not paid on time was as high as 79% while those not supported by good medical conditions was pegged at 49% and even the pay earn by most players was less than $2000 per month. With all these evidence brought against them, they have remained adamant and have devised a means of getting rid of old players and bringing in new ones to replace them said a player. Planning a wedding on a tight budget is one of the hardest things to carry out in life. One is face with a lot of things from scouting for a befitting venue, to purchasing one's dream wedding dress/suit, down to getting the important guest satisfied with good food and exotic drinks, paying for decorations, live band, professional DJ, getting a good MC and lot more. These listed elements can leave partners drained both emotionally and financially. The key word is to have a classic not necessarily a trendy wedding, this is quite achievable even with the little money on ground, all what one has to do is to be creative and customize the wedding to suit what they have always dreamt of. Nothing gives one a life-time of joy especially the bride, if her wedding is or close to what she/they envisage. From a place of personal experience, I think everything about a dream wedding should be personalize to give the celebrant the utmost satisfaction, when once the people involve are happy, any other person's thought, ideas or things are inconsequential. Bear in mind, it is your day, so it up to you to shut out people and their gossips and focus on the positive energy of making your dream wedding a reality, even with the limited funds at your disposal. So have you been wondering ,how to have that classic wedding of a lifetime and limited funds seem to be an hindrance, well, put your mind at rest and take a look at the below suggestions for some practicable ideas on having that dream wedding on a tight budget. Invite fewer guests Planning a wedding with fewer guest brings about quality, instead of watering down the whole package for the event because of much guests, you cut down on the number of invited guests and pep up the package with quality vibes. The idea is to contact mostly family members and people that really matters, that way you are having your circles intact and cutting away irrelevant people and expenses which only constitute as nuisances to the happy event. Remember, a dream wedding is possible if you keep it small. Spend money on only important things It is always important to list out the outstanding areas of a wedding plan and cut off irrelevancies, you could find out from wedding vendors, read procedures online, visit a wedding planner or meet past couples to help you with list of essential elements for a wedding, so as to know the most things to focus on. When once the essential things are taken care of, then you will be on your way to having your dream wedding. Just create a budget that would accommodate the peripherals of what you want to see and have in your wedding and stick to it. What shot up most wedding budget is always the extra carnival that the couple what to indulge in. Seek a better alternative for some areas of the wedding You could always swap expensive stuff for less expensive ones, instead of out rightly cutting out expensive stuff from the list and not being satisfied or happy on your big day. For example if you need a designer dress and the cost is beyond your reach, you could copy the design and sew same with a good local designer, but if splurging on the exact designer gown would sit well with you, then go for it ,while seeking alternatives for the other items on your list. you can also cut out music band and make do with a professional DJ, it far cheaper that way, you could hire a local professional photographer and a local videographer if your budget cannot hire international ones or better still work with only one international Grapher and forgone the other and again, you could make do with your wedding gown for your reception instead of changing to another dress. Bottom line is splurge mostly on your top priority and keeps other areas low key, so that even with a low budget a classic wedding is still achieved. Map out ways to tackle uninvited guests Nothing put a wedding under distressed like invasion of the venue by unwanted guests .most times they make a complete mess of the event, they come stealing, causing mayhem and taking away most things meant for the invited guests, so to have a classic wedding without confusion, mean –looking bouncers, which could be familiar people that the charges wouldn't be high should be hire and station at the entrance of the venue or better still the real venue should only be disclosed to invited guest. That way your offers get directly to whom it concern (invited guests) and you would be fine with the outcome. Ask for help and donations Happy people are always looking out to put smiles on people faces and of course, you would not be that unlucky to have unhappy people all around you. So don't hesitate to raise the help flag for assistance. This assistance can be in form of cash or kind. Don't try to impose anything on anybody. It has been proven naturally that people tend to do more when they are given the free hand to help without restrictions or coercion. So to have your dream wedding come true, you could just mention the areas that needs help and watch people take it upon themselves to assist and make your big day huge. Have a wedding committee This idea came in handy during my wedding period; I had my dream wedding without breaking a bank, the essence of this committee is to get some burden off the couple, it could both financially and otherwise, this committee of friends takes active part in planning a successful wedding. You would be surprise that the committee contain diverse people that have got one skill or the other. From the group, people will be nominated to be drivers of the day, record keepers, decorators, logistics planners, singers and event planner, there is also the possibility of having a baker as part of the team and you will be amaze at the amount of financial obligation that is off your shoulders while having your dream wedding. Share with us in the comments section, how you had your dream wedding at little or no cost |
Smoking according to an online definition is the consumption of harmful substances like tobacco, inhaling cigarette, chewing or sniffing of snuff, cocaine and hard drugs into the body with alleged benefits of keeping the user high, inspiring the user, making the users feel on top of the world and also having the deceptive belief of gaining acceptance by friends, peers and contemporaries for smoking and other illusive beliefs. The unfortunate thing is that, the disadvantages of smoking far outweigh the advantages because smoking is detrimental to one's health and general well-being. There are a lot of unspoken truth surrounding the world of smoking with very conflicting myth churn out as facts by cigarette producing and other related companies, by smokers themselves and deceptive persons to unsuspecting public. If you have been seeking the truth, this article will help you know the truth about the dangers involved in continuous smoking which could be harmful to one's life physically, psychologically, emotionally, medically, mentally and otherwise. Here are the unspoken truths. Smoking kills The ministry of health has realized this that is why tobacco producing and other related companies are mandated to put the disclaimer "that smokers are liable to die young" A lot of persons sees this as just another gimmick by federal govt to deter them from smoking. But according to an online research, inhaling harmful substances in to the body system has been the cause of lung cancer, prolonged cough, asthma, heart diseases, chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases which resultant effect leads to untimely and premature death. So desist from smoking. Smoking hinders good reasoning This is quite true, according to a renowned psychologist Prof Carl Mack, who made a research into the relationship between smoking and shapely of the mind and he came up with the fact that, it was just a lie put forward by cigarette producing companies to deceive it patrons and also advised that people should refrain from smoking or sniffing substances that are harmful to their health. The fact remains that inhaling these substances rather becloud one's sense of reasoning and impede rational or logical thoughts and even thinking straight in most cases. A further research by a neurologist Berry Zee found out that elements in these substances increase levels of the neurotran smitto dopamine, which affects the brain pathways that control the brain cells and how each communicate. Smoking is very addictive A lot of times, patrons and users of cocaine, heroin, nicotine, tobacco and other substances are deceived with notion that, they can stop smoking at any point in time, this is a myth far from the truth because smoking like the bad habit it is, is very addictive and stopping it can be herculean task. This is because cigarette and other forms of tobacco which could be cigars, pipe tobacco snuff and chewing tobacco contain this addictive drug called nicotine and nicotine is readily absorbed into the blood stream when these products are sniffed, inhaled or chewed. Studies shows that upon Nicotine entering the blood stream of a user, its immediately stimulate the adrenal gland to release a hormone called adrenaline, this hormone level becomes high making the user yearning for more of these substance and experts said trying to quit smoking by addicted user brings about symptoms like irritability, attention difficulties, sleep disturbances, increased appetite and great cravings for more tobacco and if treatment doesn't come readily available to help the smoker, the smoker might go back to smoking and the chain continues. So addiction to smoking is real. So quit now and don't be deceived. Smoking is a bad habit A definition of a bad habit from the medical dictionary describe it as a patterned behavior regarded as detrimental to one's physical and mental health, which is often linked to lack of self control e.g. includes alcoholic and drug abuse, consumption of tobacco products in any form, gambling and sexual addiction. As long as we try to refrain from those activities we term bad habits, we should also realized that inhaling, chewing or sniffing any tobacco related substance can also seen as a bad habit, which we should refrain from. Mc Gram-hill also wrote that smoking as a bad habit can lead to bad smelling breath, long period of smoking produces tobacco stained teeth, brings gum disease and premature wrinkling of the skin. So quit smoking. Smoking does not give inspiration This is another conspiracy theory to blindfold unsuspected users of tobacco related products. The truth is, there is nothing inspirational about taking cigarettes. In fact, it does more harm than good. For the records, inspiration comes from within, environment, nature and God. You do need any harmful substance as an enhancer or inducer to be outstanding or be who you want to be or do what you want to do. Many have been led astray by this untrue tale .you gain nothing from being cigar, tobacco, nicotine or ganja inspired. the truth is that you get yourself into more mess than you were before the consumption. So be wise. Damages caused by smoking are cumulative Brain Pascal, PhD, director for research on smoking and health opined that consuming one cigarette may not affect one immediately and one might be happy not to see one or any visible effect but in the long run, it add up to bring uncontrollable damages. This is became a single cigarette consumption add up to bring cumulative effect. Mules Dolphin an ex smoker out of his experience advises smokers to stop smoking, because even smoking cigarette once a week will bring a negative effect on the body let alone damages that comes with smoking over a long period of time with cumulative effect. Smoking is dangerous to one's health and general well-being, no amount of conspiracy theory posited by proponents of tobacco smokers should make one engage in this bad and insidious habit. Quit smoking and aspire to have a clean bill of health devoid of all diseases that is associated6 with smoking. http://news.obiaks.com/170108092922/The%20unspoken%20truths%20about%20smoking.html |
Pink Lake is a salt lake in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia. The lake is not always pink but the distinctive colour of the water changes as a result of green alga, and/or high concentration of brine prawn. Once the lake water reaches a salinity level greater than that of sea water, the temperature is high enough and adequate light conditions are provided, the alga begins to accumulate the red pigment beta carotene.http://blog.obiaks.com/170104050133/-Do-You-Know-Why-A-Lake-In-Australia-Is-Pink.html

A friend of mine recently posted something funny on Facebook. He said while it takes a graduate 100years to make $300,000, it takes a drug dealer 2 days to make $300,000, and a politician makes that amount in just 24hours. But then, if a politician makes $300,000 in one day, how long does it take the ‘wife’ of a politician to make $300,000? No, scratch that; how much time does the wife of a politician need to make $20m? Let’s ask a former First Lady! The EFCC stumbled into something of a tricky situation lately when the process of investigation for financial crimes of an aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Waripamowei Dudafa, led to the searchlight being beamed on the former President’s wife, Patience. Four Skye Bank company accounts opened by Dudafa were found holding a total of about $15.6m. A No Debit Order was subsequently placed on the accounts, as Dudafa was being investigated for money laundering. All of a sudden, Mrs. Jonathan stepped forward, claiming ownership of the funds in the accounts. Apparently, the accounts had been opened on behalf of the former First Lady- to hold her funds using the 4 companies as somewhat of a decoy. The process of opening the accounts were fraudulent in themselves, as Dudafa had used domestic workers as fronts. But then, the bigger question which everyone was asking was this: How does a former First Lady amass millions of dollars in the space of a few years? Keep in mind that an extra $5m was later found in a 5th account belonging to Mrs. Jonathan. The office of the First Lady, going by the constitution, does not come with monthly remuneration. A politician’s wife- in any level- is not a paid position; officially speaking. So what exactly did Patience Jonathan do, to get $20m? And that was just the monies held in one bank…we haven’t even thought about the other banks in which she operates accounts! Prominent Nigerians including Prof. Itse Sagay, have called for the probe of Mrs. Jonathan. In the words of Sagay, “if she is claiming the money belongs to her, she has put herself in a position where she must explain how she earned it.” As the situation unfolded, there was then chatter that the EFCC may seize the Bayelsa hotel- Aridolf Resort Wellness and Spa- worth about N10bn, which also belongs to Mrs. Jonathan. Pause…breathe…continue. How did a former First Lady become so rich? The UK Financial Times even compiled a report stating that the hotel which was inaugurated just a month before the end of her husband’s tenure, could “compete with other luxury hotels in developed countries.” Can we assume that Mrs. Jonathan was being paid wads of cash each month as First Lady? Was she awarding contracts to herself using the office of First lady? Or did the money come from the heavily criticized campaign slush fund for the 2015 elections? To the best of our knowledge, Patience Jonathan has never been a big-time businesswoman; so how did she become so wealthy? It is quite saddening to be hit with the realization that our nation is (or was) so lawless that even the wife of a politician can profit from the national purse, to the detriment of most of the populace. And then, in the midst of the outrage, Mrs. Jonathan had the presence of mind to shamelessly file a N200m suit against Skye Bank for her inability to operate the account! What effrontery! Where do we go from here now? If President Buhari is sincere about the War Against Corruption, then there is no logical reason why the former First Lady should not be made to answer important questions. When does this impunity end? She says she has documents to prove that she didn't get the cash through illegal means. We are all still waiting to see what the EFCC does next! |

Female police locks self in toilet and blows off her skull

This policeman, Mobile Unit on duty yesterday at about 2pm at Igyula along Gboko-Aliade Road took alcohol to stupor and was seriously misbehaving by threatening road users with the gun. I tried getting his service number and name but his jacket covered the tags. I saw him assured a commercial driver that he would have wasted his life by shooting him dead if it was at night, just because the driver told him that he does not have money to settle them. He added that in Maiduguri, a driver can't waste a policeman's time to begin to explain that he doesn't have money for settlement; the police will just shoot the driver dead and throw him in the bush. He warned the driver not to say a pleading word again rather than quietly settle them. One of the passengers who saw how the driver's vehicle has been having faults while they were coming gave him N30 to give to the policeman and plead further. When the driver removed the N30 to give to the policeman, he asked him how much it was. The driver replied him that it's N30. The policeman became infuriated and started beating up the driver with his gun. He said the driver has insulted him by giving him N30. His colleagues intervened but could not stop him. They told this reporter that their superior colleague is drunk and confessed he has been behaving like that since morning. According to them, they can't stop him because he is their superior. I write this to request the Nigerian Police Force to call Gboko Command to trace this unprofessional policeman on duty yesterday at Igyula Community along Gboko-Aliade Road using the attached pictures. Those plying that route should also take caution in order not to risk their lives. In the second picture below with money on ground in front of the policeman, he was doing so while trying to prove to the driver that he has enough money and not hungry enough to collect N30 from him.

When the race for the US Presidency began, no one envisioned that Republicans would head to their convention in Cleveland in July, to put their stamp of approval on a billionaire TV reality star. From the start of his campaign, Donald J. Trump has built on theatrics, tough talk, sentimental (and largely erratic) outbursts, and a fierce demonizing of all foes. Like no other Republican (or even Democrat) before him, he has made very strong statements that should ordinarily turn the electorate against a candidate for the Presidency. From his attack on Muslims, women, journalists (even a disabled journalist), Mexicans and Latinas, African Americans, entire nations and leaders of nations, no demographic has been safe from his wrath. He has been described as a bully with a very thin skin, a misogynist, a selfish elite, a fraud, a draft dodger etc. Even within his own party, he has faced criticism…even from notable Republican leaders…but none of that seemed to have fazed him or even slowed him down…not until the Democrats headed to Philadelphia and a gold star family took to the stage on the last day of the convention. The Khan’s lost a son in Iraq. Captain Humayun Khan, a member of the US Army, was killed on active duty in 2004. His parents- Khizr and Ghazala Khan- were at the DNC, where Mr. Khan heavily criticized the Republican Nominee’s understanding of the constitution. He stated that under Trump’s proposed policies, someone like his son (the late Capt. Humayun) would not have been allowed into the USA. In typical Trump fashion, the Republican mogul launched into a twitter rant against the Khan’s; and in a TV interview, went as far as insinuating that Ghazala Khan simply stood on the stage speechless, because of her Muslim faith! And it was this particular not-very-well-though-through response from Trump, which seemed to have signified the beginning of the end for him. Now, anyone interested in getting involved in US politics knows that there are certain cardinal rules one must obey- especially during an election season- and one very important rule is that a candidate never goes after a gold star family! Americans have the utmost regard for their men and women in uniform…not to talk of those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in defense of their nation. So, how dare Trump- a man who basically evaded being drafted into the Army, due to his societal status; a man who knows nothing about combat and sacrifice; a man whose entire existence has been lived in the laps of luxury- go after a family whose son gave his life in defense of the star-sprangled banner? Even Republicans did not find it funny. And one by one, they issued statements denouncing Trump’s outbursts against the Khans. From Senator John McCain, House Speaker Paul Ryan, Senator Lindsey Graham, Senator Chuck Grassley etc., the rebuttal was swift and strong. The American media also went in…and they were savage. Now, the really funny thing about the US media during an electoral season is the fact that they are notorious for hitting candidates the hardest, when they are at their lowest. So, Trump, who was once the darling of the media during the primaries season, found himself increasingly subject to their attacks and scrutiny as he ventured into the general elections arena; especially as he has continued to make one blunder after another. One would think that at this point, the Republican Nominee would be more measured in his tone…more Presidential in his outlook…more diplomatic and logical with his reactions and responses…but no, not Trump. He just never seems to learn! And with the recent overhaul- again- of his campaign team, his performance is only bound to continue on its outrageous trajectory. Even a recent expression of regret over certain past actions was so unspecific, that it came off as being totally insincere...vintage Trump! One of Trump’s greatest flaw is his legendary narcissism…he seems to view himself as being better than everyone else…and beyond reproach. Fareed Zakaria was not wrong when he called him (Trump) a ‘B.S artist’…one who doesn’t hold himself accountable to the laws of lies or truth, but simply makes up his own universe as he goes along. But in this moment, Trump seems to have hit a brick wall...one which no 'Brietbart strategist' can save him from! The Khans became his waterloo, and it has been hard to rise again after disrespecting them that way. The Donald has continued to witness a slide in the ratings, and the Clinton camp has only been too glad to watch his tumble. A simple apology may have remedied the situation; but Trump wouldn’t have been Trump if he offered one…and so he didn’t…and like Superman’s Kryptonite, the Republican candidate has only gotten weaker since that tragic day when he decided to go after one part of America’s sacred clan- a gold star family. |
Three days to the end of the 2016 Olympic Games being held in Rio, when most of the athletes have concluded their events and even returned back to their bases, Team Nigeria has finally taken delivery of the much awaited Olympics kits. Recall that Team Nigeria had to resort to their warm-up track suits for the Parade of Nations during the Opening Ceremony of the Games, as the Sports Ministry claimed the official attire which was showcased before President Muhammadu Buhari during the hand-over ceremony in Abuja failed to arrive on time for the ceremony. The kits finally arrived on Wednesday night; but according to a top official of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, they would no longer serve any purpose because “most of the athletes have left after concluding their events.” He added that “I have never experienced this in my years in sports. Money meant for the Games was held tightly by ministry officials and they were just releasing money piecemeal. We had to buy kits on our own while some athletes competed in their personal kits.” http://news.obiaks.com/160819052458/3-days-to-end-of-Olympics--kit-for-Team-Nigeria-finally-arrives.html |
Lagos has been ranked by a report in the Economist Intelligence Unit, as the third worst city to live, maintaining its position at the lowest rungs of the Global Liveability Index, GLI. The liveability survey assesses which locations around the world provide the best or the worst living conditions across five broad categories, including stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education and infrastructure. Lagos placed 138th out of the 140 cities ranked in the latest liveability survey, just above war-ravaged Tripoli and Damascus. It scored highest in culture and environment, followed by infrastructure; while receiving its lowest score in the area of stability. The report stated, “Of the poorer-scoring cities, 13 continue to occupy the very bottom tier of liveability, where ratings fall below 50 percent and most aspects of living are severely restricted. “Continued threats from groups like Boko Haram acts as a constraint to improving stability in Lagos.’’ According to the same report, the top 5 best countries to live in remain unchanged from last year, and they are: Melbourne, Australian; Vienna, Austria; Vancouver, Canada; Toronto, Canada; and Calgary, Canada. Three other African cities joined Lagos at the bottom rung of the liveable cities, including Douala, Cameroon; Harare, Zimbabwe; and Algiers, Algeria; ranking 132nd, 133rd, and 134th respectively. Five african cities were in the 10 least liveable cities. No African city made it to the top 10 most liveable cities. Despite Lagos's poor ranking however, according to several other global reports, with its current population of over 22million people, the bustling South West Nigerian city would in the next few years, become the 4th mega city in the world, with a population of over 30 million. http://news.obiaks.com/160819052139/Report-ranks-Lagos-as-3rd-worst-city-to-live-in.html |

These photographs by photojournalist Noel Celis who works for AFP reveal the shocking conditions in an overcrowded prison near Manila in the Philippines. Quezon City Jail was built 60 years ago to house 800 prisoners. It now accommodates 3,800 men, who compete daily for space. Inmates take turns to sleep on the floor of an open-air basketball court, on the steps of staircases, underneath beds, and in hammocks made out of old blankets. Their bodies are packed together like sardines, unable to stretch out. When it rains conditions become even worse because inmates cannot sleep in the open air. The government provides a daily budget of about $1.10 for food and 8 pence for medicine per inmate, according to an AFP report. There is just one toilet for every 130 men, and buckets of water are used to flush them. The stench is compounded by rotting rubbish in a nearby canal. http://blog.obiaks.com/160803112131/Shocking-photos-of-an-incredibly-overcrowded-prison-in-the-Philippines-.html

FOLLOWING THE RULES OF NIGERIA’S POLITICAL JUNGLE: BETWEEN REMI TINUBU AND DINO MELAYE Politics in Nigeria is not for the faint-hearted. Over here, the political field is a jungle, where only the strong survive. But while the terrain does bring out beastly instincts in certain politicians, it is pertinent to recognize hierarchy at all times, and be careful not to stray into the Lions’ Den. Senator Dino Melaye of Kogi State is a man whose reputation precedes him…and not always in a good way. The dark, tall Kogi man has come to be known by a large section of Nigerians, more for his thuggish instincts, than for his political achievements. In the battle field of the fight to protect Senate President, Bukola Saraki, from any (and all) criminal conviction(s), Melaye stands in the frontline. One sometimes wonders what he hopes to gain from such stoic defense of Saraki; but make no mistakes, in politics, there are no free meals- there is always a game plan. But this Kogi man- just like another politician who comes from the state of Ekiti- does not always know how to stay within boundaries. At a rancorous session of the Senate not too long ago, Senator Melaye called for the suspension of the members of the Senate Unity Forum who had written the petition against Senators Saraki and Ekweremadu, which led to their arraignment by the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, at a high court, on forgery charges. As if that was not enough, Melaye went further, calling for Senators to close ranks and fight the presidency to a standstill, for its perceived intrusion into the affairs of the Upper Legislative Chamber. Melaye allegedly went further again, to issue threats against the President himself! At this point, Senator Oluremi Tinubu reportedly asked the Kogi man why he would utter such threats and call for the suspension of his fellow Senators. The female Senator warned her colleagues to guard against acting like they were in a kindergarten court, and instead, seek reconciliation amongst themselves. All hell suddenly broke loose! Melaye, like a masquerade during a New Yam Festival, began ‘huffing and puffing.’ “You can’t talk to me the way you talk to other people; you must respect yourself,” he said. Now, there are quite a few variations to the story. Some say Melaye threatened to beat up Senator Tinubu, some say he used the “f-word” on her, some even say he said he would impregnate her and nothing would happen! Ahhh…our ears shall not hear evil! At this point, it is highly important that I ask you to pause for a bit- and note very carefully, what I say next. Are you still there? You are. Good! Now, under NO circumstance should a man use this sort of language on a woman...no circumstance whatsoever! Otunba Melaye, that's a red card right there! Let's proceed. You see, I started this article by likening the Nigerian political terrain to a jungle. But in the jungle, every animal knows that the Lion is King. In Nigerian politics, there are kings, and there are kingmakers. The kingmakers are the unseen (and sometimes seen) hands behind the Nigerian political and governmental system. When one thinks of a Nigerian kingmaker, one could very well think of men like the witty OBJ, the cunning IBB (AKA Maradonna), the reserved Abdulsalami Abubakar, the dashing TY Danjuma; and then, you cannot leave out the calculating (even manipulating) and highly revered Jagaban of Borgu himself, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Incidentally, Bola Tinubu happens to be the husband of Senator Remi Tinubu, who was insulted by Dino Melaye! See wahala! True to form, an aide to the savvy Jagaban fired off tweets to Melaye, daring him to try and beat up another Senator (we know he was referring to Tinubu’s wife, the APC First Lady), and see what happens. But then, he said something else that caught my attention i.e. “from here, it is downhill for Melaye.” Hmmm…in the field of diplomacy, there is something referred to as a “loaded statement.” This was one of them. Anybody familiar with the ways of the Jagaban of Borgu knows that he is a man who does not forget easily, or forgive lightly, ills perpetuated against him -whether real or imaginary - just ask Bukola Saraki or Babatunde Fashola! While Melaye boastfully declared that he would not apologize to Remi Tinubu, and posted pictures of himself on Bourdillon; like the stubborn Tsetse fly, daring anyone to attack him, his friend, the embattled Senate President who now knows better about political gymnastics, took it upon himself to initiate peace moves between the two feuding Senators. Speaking separately with Tinubu and Melaye, he managed to broker something of a “temporary truce”- temporary in my opinion- between both of them. He also reshuffled the Senate Committees, and suddenly placed Remi Tinubu as Chairman of the Committee on the Environment- oh thou scheming Saraki! We do not know if Melaye has yet (secretly) apologized to the Tinubu’s. Remi Tinubu has however stated that “being a Christian,” she has forgiven Melaye…lol…but she speaks for herself alone, and not for the Asiwaju. My eyes are open to see what happens next. Payback may not come today or tomorrow- or even this year. But I have a feeling that if Melaye does not find means to pacify the fierce Jagaban, he may wake up on some God-forsaken morning to find that like a greedy Hyena who choked while feeding on its prey, he has bitten more than he can chew! Yahoo was founded by Jerry Yang and David Filo. They got messed up because the board failed to learn from "the Apple Story". When apple dicovered they had made a mistake by sacking its founder, They had to retrace their step and brought back Steve Jobs on board. Now in the case of Yahoo, Jerry Yang who happens to be the founder and the brain behind Yahoo was sacked, Simply because he refused to sell the company to Microsoft for $44 billion. |

Junk analysis. Please stop deceiving the public with this your incomplete figures |
Our President, Muhammadu Buhari, is a man who detests corruption. A simple, starched agbada-wearing Fulani man; one would not be wrong to assume that some of Buhari’s dearest possession are the Cattle on his Katsina farm. The President frowns at braggadocios, flamboyant thieves- those who flaunt wealth lavishly, at the expense of the nation. He doesn’t just detest them; he has authorized the EFCC to go after them! But while Mr. President is obviously a man of simple tastes, he does have an eye for beautiful things- or may I say “beautiful people.” Have you seen his wife, Aisha? At the 2015 inauguration of Muhammadu Buhari, Nigerians got a full glimpse of his family. Ladies drooled over the handsome- and quiet- Yusuf, and guys like Banky W sent out “ello bae” tweets to Zahra. But fine as all the Buhari children are, all eyes were on the woman of the Buhari household i.e. Aisha Buhari. Clad in her native attire and diamond-studded Cartier watch, Aisha Buhari stood proudly by her husband, as he took the oath of office. Mrs. Buhari is the classic “beauty with brains” woman. She has a Masters’ Degree in International Relations and Strategic Studies, while also being a certified cosmetologist. A campaigner for the rights of girls and children, Mrs. Buhari has championed the cause of women in politics, malnourished children in IDP camps, abused children, the girl child, etc. Simply addressed as “the wife of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” she has carried out her duties as First Lady, with poise, class and finesse. So imagine the surprise in many quarters recently, when one Ekiti politician ruffled the pretty feathers of ‘classy Aisha’ and caused her to utter words the average Nigerian would not have previously attributed to her! Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti has a long history of making derogatory comments. He usually gets away with them for the most part, until he “jammed the wrong person!” Fayose made the colossal mistake of linking Mrs. Buhari to the Halliburton scandal. Without checking his facts, and clouded by the anger of his account frozen by the EFCC- thanks to Aisha’s husband- the Ekiti Governor stated- quite boldly and brazenly- that the love of Mr. President’s life, had wired money to former US Congressman Jefferson, who was convicted of criminal charges in 2009! All hell suddenly broke loose! Before Nigerians could ask, “what’s the current naira-price of a dollar?”, Aisha Buhari fired off a series of tweets, calling Fayose an “unchained mad Dog” and stating that if Buhari at 73 was too old to face him, she was only 45, and would treat his bullsh*t! (Sorry, the paraphrase is mine, I have a thing for exaggerations *laughing out loud*) Anyway, it was not too far from that though! Nigerians were flabbergasted! Was Buhari’s wife’s account hacked? Surely, this could not have been “classy Aisha”. But it was. Mrs. Buhari had taken it up to the chin with Fayose, and she could take it no longer! I had a very dear friend- ‘Mama’ of blessed memory- who used to say to me while we were in the University, “Buchi, some people’s madness no dey show for face.” I don’t mean to infer that Mrs. Buhari has mental problems- not at all- but as my friend Mama always translated, just because someone always looks calm and composed, does not mean you should pick unnecessary fights with them; because one day, you will “buy market!” (Forgive me again; I can’t hide my Niger Delta roots.) But before we judge Mrs. Buhari- as some were quick to do- we must also judge ourselves. Do we really take every insult lying low…especially those of astronomical magnitudes that have the potential to greatly tarnish our image? I bet the answer is NO. Mrs. Buhari simply acted like what most of us are (I cannot speak for everyone though) - human beings with limits! Fayose has not uttered one more word about Aisha Buhari since then. Even though the 7days ultimatum given by the First Lady for him to retract his erroneous comments or face legal consequences has elapsed, the Governor has been uncharacteristically quiet on that front! I guess he has found out that being classy does not mean one is docile; so you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, and should always check yourself (and check your facts) before you wreck yourself! Finally, as I heard someone say recently, “some talk is for the kitchen. Leave that sh*t in the oven, so you don’t play yourself!” Full-time score: Fayose, zero; Aisha Buhari, one. I can see Mr. President cheering loudly! by Buchi Obichie http://news.obiaks.com/opinion/160709064520/WHEN-LOOKS-ARE-DECEPTIVE--CASE-STUDY--AISHA-BUHARI.html |
A business engagement named after the president of Nigeria has been discovered in far Asia. Buhari Hotel is part of a chain of South Indian restaurants called Buhari Hotels & Restaurants. The group has been in existence since 1951. The hotel has many outlets in various parts of Chennai, India. The restaurant is famous in the metropolitan city of Chennai. It provides vegetarian as well as non vegetarian food. The service is well organized by the team of trained professionals. The restaurant is famous for its Buhari Biryani food. It is also served with a boiled egg sitting atop with its Mutton or Chicken variant which is very catchy. The Biryani is so popular that it is mentioned in many Tamil movies, songs and other articles and still remains the flavor of Madras/Chennai. Many celebrities and renowned people prefer ordering food from the restaurant. It is unclear if President Muhammadu Buhari has any link with the hotel as jokingly suspected by Nigerians. http://blog.obiaks.com/160708021125/Could-This-Be-True--Buhari-Hotels-And-Restaurants-Discovered-In-India--photos--.html
