obedience4:Even ordinary Hamas and Houthis have better drone handling capabilities than the Nigeria's yeye military That's shameful No country should ever sell drones to them, abeg, otherwise more innocent people will diie in their hands. |
Fearurcreeator:Yeye, those saner climes do not have the crude oil advantage we have And what makes you believe you will do majic with VATs and taxes after mismanaging the funds from oil for over 50yrs? You should stop deceiving Nigerians with bogus expectations |
blacksam01:Don't mind those cunning thieves |
Omoawoke:So, if there was actually a creator that cared, would he be there and watch those innocent kids burn to ashes, just because the parents didn't speak to him in the morning to guide their path ![]() This unreasonable and undeserving belief in an uncaring so-called creator needs to stop |
obajoey:Don't mind them |
illicit:Who told you the volumes of smoke(from partially combusted materials) pouring into the rooms from the burning roof did not contain carbon monoxide?? Can you see how bad half knowledge can be? Carbon monoxide doesn't only come from generator fumes Every fire in an enclosure(like in rooms, roofs, etc) generate massive amounts of carbon monoxide because the oxygen present in such enclosed spaces is not enough to fully burn/combust the materials present. |
tutudesz:By the Nigerian constitution, oil money is not your money; it's federal money. So, relax |
MT:You're an ediot who can't making any convincing argument without throwing insults We are talking about states here which are responsible for developments, not individuals and their small businesses, you selfish goat. And you don't know that state govts will increase the taxes paid by those businesses if they can't get enough VATS/revenues as a result of this bill? Currently, how much VATs are the SE states being raised from those businesses(which are mostly small small enterprises) you're talking about? You haven't seen the recently released list of states and their respective VATS raised as welĺ as that of that of IGRs and the position of the SE states on the list? Imo state, for eg, get more VATs from the centrally shared one than from the one it could raise from within the state. I guess you didn't know about this. Can you compare these small small businesses in the SE with the plethora of big Igbo businesses scattered around the country where they'll now be generating huge VATs only for the host states? |
simpleseyi:Shallow minded kiii you and your useless cunning and selfish people there! Which one step at a time? T!efnubu will do resource control that will not favour most SW states for you?? Why didn't he start with it?? You think you're hateful, tribalistic and smart all at the same time? You cornered every federal appointment for yourselves without thinking about the "South" but now want to use them to achieve your selfish interests! Common, get out! |
Fortruth:Ohaneze faction, not the main group led by the late Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu |
PressMyButton:I know you're one of those unning and tribalistic yorubas who's now feeling happy that a so-called Ohaneze group has endorsed your tribesman who hasn't given a damn about the Igbos since he assumed office. Let me inform you that the useless Ohaneze faction being led by that Isiguzo is not the main Ohaneze faction. It has always aligned with APC because it was created by Uzodimma and co to cause confusion. So, don't rejoice yet, because that useless group doesn't represent the Igbos. |
PressMyButton:This is not the main Ohaneze faction. It's a useless faction created by Uzodimma and his other useless APC co-workers in the region It doesn't the Igbos and can't speak for us! To hell with them and their relationship with the nepotistic and tribalistic APC |
Oganigwe:You don't know what you're saying with regard to the southeast Igbos should never support the bill for any reason There is nothing for us there; the gainers are the yorubas who already record high economic, high VAT-generating activities in lagos and ogun states because of the large concentration of companies and businesses there. And these businesses are owned by Nigerians from every inch of the country. Which investments are in the SE that will generate high VATs and taxes for you? You don't know that an overwhelming majority of Igbo businesses are outside the region, especially in Lagos, Ogun, Rivers, Abuja and Kano? These states will have all the VATs from transactions done in these businesses, and at the end, they will still partake in the FG allocations generated from other states and regions. So, tell me how the SE will gain Our problem is taking knee jerk reactions without sitting down to analyse things, make consultations to determine how policies will favour us before deciding on which side to take. We'll lose massively if that yoruba-sponsored bill is passed. You can see the level of joy they're having from your misguided post. We cannot help them enjoy the lagos all Nigerians built alone, while they still receive monthly allocations from crude oil mined elsewhere It doesn't depend on whether the north would be the highest losers or not. We will be co-losers with them, and we should oppose it just as they're doing. Regional decisions shouldn't be based on such infantile sentiments, but specifically on how it will benefit your own region and her people. If Tinubu and his supporters are serious, they should go for full resource control, so that they can keep their VATs and taxes while others keep whatever is generated from their natural resources. |
tutudesz:Stupiid talk Did you develop your own region with your own money?? |
givedemwotowoto:Don't mind those guys; they know the game they're playing. If they're serious, they should go for full resource control, and not just VAT/tax bill that will favour them. |
Episode22:Why are you keeping a pregnancy when you don't even have your own rented house, let alone a job ![]() What's your problem? You dey ment?? |
EeyanMayweather:See this bastard calling me parasite What do you have in yoruba that is your own, you bingo? I'm from Imo and we have oil. How many indigenous yoruba investments are in lagos and ogun sates? Lagos is thriving from massive investments made by individual Nigerians from all states, Federal govt, cooperate organizations, foreigners, etc The economic activities from these businesses generate the huge VATs and taxes which you real parasites are looking at and want to have for yourselves alone. |
tutudesz:This is not resource control, billl! You guys should stop trying to deceive people into buying your selfish interests Tinubu and his lagos boys are only focusing on VATs and taxes which will favour lagos and ogun states while they keep partaking in the other revenues generated from crude oil and others If he's serious, he should go for full resource control so that all the oil producing states will keep their revenues, while lagos and ogun states keep their VATS and taxes The north and southeast shouldn't accept this trick because they'll lose massively |
ify2016:It's because they care about their own people and region and understood the game the yorubas are upto. This is a yoruba battle being fought for their own benefits If you're not from there, you may be fighting the wrong battle That VAT bill will favour only Lagos, Ogun, Rivers, +/_ Delta, Oyo, which have high concentration of companies and business activities and thus generate large amounts of VATs, while the generality of states will suffer. It's not by mistake that every yoruba man breathing is pushing for the passage. |
Omoawoke:Exactly. |
Ishilove:Rule 2 is about insults/abuses/attacks directed to NAIRALAND MEMMERS. It says nothing about gender related insults in general. The guy didn't insult/abuse/bully/provoke, etc, any nairaland member in particular. Laws/rules are not interpreted with sentiments cc: Justwise |
AntiChristian: ![]() |
AntiChristian:What exactly is he rectifying? Dollar rate is over 1700. Propaganda doesn't rectify anything, yeye Let's go to where you know better: As a jihadist, what's your stand on the renewed Syrian war, with the Shia axis of Assad-Hezbollah-Iran-Iraq on one side and the Sunni axis of HTS-Turkey on the other side?? |
ycat:I don't make stupid arguments. Lagos and Ogun states get monthly allocations from FAAC, with the revenues generated from natural resources mined in other states. Are you so dumb that you don't know about this? If you are clamouring to keep all the VATs generated from the businesses within your states, you should also loosen your grips on the federal allocations which is generated from other areas So, let there be full resource control. |
mrvitalis:Go and do your homework well. VAT being charged where goods are consumed doesn't change anything. A massive number of Nigerians and their businesses are in lagos and ogun states because of their strategic locations; so far more goods will be consumed there and more economic activities recorded there than in any other state in Nigeria. This is what Tinubu and his lagos boys want to take advantage of. |
odejimioflagos:Yea, the world should be ashamed of allowing Iran to openly arm terrorist groups and use them to destabilise the Middle East. |
Botragelad:This is not the time for Iranian jihadists to do any stubbornness; they'll just diie |
mrvitalis:Tell me how it will favour SE when the VAT ogun state alone generates is more that the IGR of each state in the SE. You know how many Igbo owned businesses that are operating outside the region? And how many do we have in the region that will generate enough VAT? You guys don't sit down to calculate things well. |
TinubuOle:We should learn to examine policies and take sides! We're not dummies. Every policy will affect us positively or negatively, and we shouldn't always be on the sidelines If we knew what we were doing as a region, we would be the first to do what the north is currently doing because the the bill is a yoruba-centred one that will benefit only them, and not the southeast. |
mrvitalis:Where are you from? Does the bill favour where you come from? That's the question people should be asking instead of making blind support As an Igboman, i dont't support the bill because it won't favour the southeastern states. If T!efnubu is serious, he should go for full resource control and not only VAT that will favour Lagos and Ogun states. Those states can't keep sharing from the revenues generated from resources in other states, while keeping the bulk of the VATs generated within their boundaries. And it's not like those VATs are being generated from mostly yoruba businesses! |
ukaface:One bad incident is not enough to draw a conclusion on it. |
