omenka: Another blue elephant project in the offing!!It may be a blue elephant project in your states of osun, ekiti, ondo and ogun but not in Anambra. I just hope the governor ensures this is sustainable. |
Anambra people like a performing governor and obiano is performing. He is becoming a very popular figure by his performance so far. If peter obi thinks he still has any relevance in Anambra, let him test his relevance by leaving obiano. |
Obiano has good intentions for the state unlike obi so it's not unexpected that light and darkness cannot mix. All the peter obi attack dogs... get set... go.... ![]() |
AWKA—There is intense pressure on the former governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, to decamp from the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Sources said in Awka yesterday that pressure had been mounting on Obi to decamp from his party, in view of alleged strained relation between him and his political godson, Chief Willie Obiano. However, Obi’s Media Assistant, Val Obienye, said his principal would not dump APGA as he had no reasons to so. Obienye had been asked to comment on news making the rounds that Obi planned to decamp from APGA, along with some members of the House of Representatives, including Mrs. Uche Ekwunife and Emeka Mogbo, among others. He, however, said that the pressure on Obi to decamp from the party did not start yesterday as late President Umaru Yar’Adua had also tried unsuccessfully to lure him out of APGA. ‘’The former governor has made it clear that he will not leave APGA for any party. His body language does not suggest so. “Late President Yar’Adua did his best to get him out of APGA but did not succeed. The former governor has character. He is not planning to do such a thing. ‘’It is also not true that he (Obi) has any quarrel with the governor of Anambra State, Chief Obiano. There is no need for that. Obi handed over power to Obiano for good. Since he handed over power to Obiano, he has not travelled to Anambra State. He has nothing to quarrel with Obiano for because, he has no pending issue or issues.’’ http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/07/pressure-mounts-obi-dump-apga-pdp/#sthash.7d8v5PZm.dpuf |

Obiano is really determined to deliver in Anambra. Good to know he is taking a different path from his predecessor. Good luck to him |
On the heels of his first 100 days in office and in furtherance of the objective of continuity, completion, commissioning and commencement of new projects, the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano has embarked on inspection tour of projects in parts of Awka, Onitsha and Nnewi with a view to improving infrastructure across the state. The three strategic cities of the state were agog as Governor Obiano inspected ongoing projects and commenced new ones. The governor gave the contractors handling the various projects including the three shopping malls in Awka, Onitsha and Nnewi a maximum of 10 months deadline to complete the job. The projects sites include, the Onitsha shopping mall, which houses mega projects like international hotel, shopping mall and a convention centre and has a capacity to accommodate 5,000 persons. The premises houses Radison Blue, an adjoining hotel project, which is planned as the first world class hospitality spot in Onitsha. Speaking soon after inspecting the projects, Governor Obiano said that he had extracted commitment from the contractor handling the projects that they would be completed in 10 months’ time, adding that a wide expanse of roads would link the three projects. He stated that the projects would have been ready in three months but for the shoddy performance of the previous contractor, which led to the revocation of the contract and generation of certificates and full mobilisation of the new contractor. Governor described the aesthetics look of the projects as very good, pointed out that, when completed, the edifice would compare to Shoprite in Enugu and Shopping Mall in Lagos. According to Obiano “we are going to bring to the State a new shopping experience quite different to the business environment they are used to. The event centre will attract functions from neighbouring States in particular.” Giving further assurance, the Governor said “the entire place will be very important in South-East zone. We have 40 apartment buildings coming up. http://sunnewsonline.com/new/?p=72703 |
