For nine straight working days in December, ‘Fisayo Soyombo, editor of TheCable, disguised his appearance – first as a hungry, hapless job seeker; later as a trainee clearing agent; and finally as an intending importer of cars, computers and Italian suits and shoes – to penetrate into the importing and clearing ring at the Nigeria Customs Service. Presented in this comprehensive reporter’s diary, his findings reveal series of sharp practices involving men of the service, other border and security agencies, clearing agents, and banks – leading to massive short-changing of government revenue. They also underline the scale of work required to purify an agency that is arguably the armpit of corruption in the most populous black nation. It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God. Sourced from two different chapters and verses (Mark 10:25 and Matthew 19:24) in the Christians’ holy book, the Bible, this quotation is one of the most popular pastoral tools for summarizing the vanity of wealth – and life. But nothing better captures the secrecy shrouding business activities at the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) than a parody of this saying: it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than it is for anyone to enter into the Apapa premises of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA). Before setting out for Apapa, which houses the largest and busiest seaport in Nigeria, and is one of the most horrendous traffic-gridlock zones in the densely populated city of Lagos, I had been warned by everyone who knew something about the ports that I would be unable to enter. Still, on Monday, December 14, 2015, I arrived Apapa in the company of my one-day guide who knew the area so well and graciously offered to help with navigating opening-day impediments. Much of the first day’s work was to revolve round securing temporary accommodation in Apapa pending the conclusion of the assignment – this didn’t happen, by the way – and general surveying operations around the port. Hmm, http://realconceptlogistics.com/ analysis 1. On the company home page, the job vacancy appeared there as the main content, focusing on the jobs, and offering 90 - 160k 2. About us and Services, nothing tangible said there, could easily have been copied. 3. Contact us, head office is located at ota ogun state, for a logistics firm Verdict I may be very wrong, but i feel this website was cooked up recently for ulterior motives other than real employment |
eakenbor:Magento is a CMS Framework, so maybe what you mean is a theme developed from scratch, not of the shelf magento themes. I have experience in building ecommerce website using magento, but i use themes. |
Please can you provide more details, as for price list and min quantity order, you can send details to designteamtechnology@gmail.com, am more interested in the spanish wine. http://philjenny.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=30 |
Ok back now 3. Transportation business, well i know this is over flogged, but there is serious though to be made here, that can give you good roi, i dont know the running details, but this is just my idea. Go around and do your due deligence and find routes that are less volatile and profitable, for example airport shuttles running the airport is one good and profitable area, the union there is well organised, and the buses are neat, and well maintained, you could get a good driver and get two to three buses, definitely you wont focus all ur head in one route, i know danfo usually deliver close to 5k per day to owner, can can be slighly less. Also i want you to try coaster in the mix also, or better still a large marcopolo, those long ones, that run mile 2 - ikorodu, with your budget, those ones can deliver close to 30k per day for you. If not comfortable with that, you can buy good sienna buses and do interstate or volwswagon bus and do cargo, there are lots of transportation needs you can fit into and make good money. 4. Be an alcohol major distributor, u really need to know the quantity of alcohol being consumed in this country you will marvel, and they are selling, i dont mean bear drinks, focus on energy drinks, spirits, bitters drinks of different types, get there whole sale franchise, and dominate a particular local govt with huge population and supply to those areas, or market to new markets that dont sell the products yet, there are numerous. 5. Build and sell an e-library to secondary schools. Imagine a student can go into a library, go to a computer system and can study and read up everything on maths, that the teacher is teaching him or her, broken down topic by topic and well explained, with numerous question and answer for the student to practice. You do that for all courses and break them down for students to learn it easily. So you sell it to secondary schools as a complete suite for there library use, so students can come in and learn at there own pace, if they need extra guidance on any particular subject. With that, you are breaking the barrier of education, or you can just build it online, these are the same models being operated by codeacademy.com. You can pay a developer, either local or abroad to help you design, although it might cost you up to $10,000 to build if not more. But once you have the initial outlay gone, you can reproduce and resell to clients schools. 5. be back |
@op, I dont really comment on things like this, but just to share my thoughts on the issue raised. With 6 million, you can definitely get 200,000 monthly roi back for sure, but it will go with a lot of hard work and perseverance. You need to explore with a lot of fresh ideas, so what i will give you, wont be the usual ideas, like import, forex, farming etc, that people are really into, you need to develop and work on this ideas on your own. 1. Go to sterling bank, there is a product being offered, that guarantees a 8% monthly interest on your money if fixed for 1year, without touching, so 6,000,000 * 0.08 = 480,000 monthly, before you scream na lie, just walk into any sterling bank and ask there customer care unit, simple. Ideas Based: 2. There is a prevailing shortage of good cloths to wear, the only source is all imported, and very low quality, which is very bad, its so bad that when you get to cele bus stop, you see people advertise cloths for 50naira, and people still bad, its so pathetic, i feel any average nigerian, will want to buy a new quality cloth at affordable price. Pick a particular niche, the men fashion, almost all men in nigeria, wears, boxers, jeans or chinos. Import some good chinos materials or boxers, set up a mini factory, and employ some young men and women who just finished learning tailoring, mass sow, trousers or boxers, at least good standard, and resell in mass quantity to different shop owners, if you total cost per trouser is 1200 inclusive of labour, resell at 1300 at wholesale price, no need to produce any type of cloths, just continue expanding your expertise on chinos trouser market, and you can put on our label, get feedback from your clients on how to improve, believe me if you work and perfect the whole process, and you if are able to produce large quantities, you will you will recoup your investment in no time. e.g market is huge with close to over 30 million men within your target range. 3. I will continue later, busy now |

@op, where to begin, 75000/220 = $340 for 3months building a native mobile app, with all your conditions. See with all your conditions, the deal is already doomed to fail. No reliable person that can deliver on the job will take it, the least you can start from, that can bring in the right people is from $2000, without all the conditions, then extra fee for the conditions listed. Note: Our counterparts in abroad, charge between $10 - $50 per hour on a project, and they can budget 30hours per week for the project, which can be completed in 2weeks. I know that once we developers raise our standard, the correct billing will follow |

President Muhammadu Buhari today terminated the appointment of Patrick Ziakede Akpobolokemi as the Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA). Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina announced the sack in a statement made available to journalists. Adesina, however, did not give reason for the decision, which he said, took immediate effect. He said Akpobolokemi would hand over the management of NIMASA and all government property in his possession to the most senior officer in the agency who will remain in charge until a new Director-General is appointed. SHIPS & PORTS had reported exclusively on Monday that the Federal Government had stopped NIMASA from making further payments for maritime security contract to a company owned by Tompolo – Akpobolokemi’s kinsman and benefactor. Ayofresh4u:yes true i agree, my point is that i never knew this practice existed. |
Please be very careful about this bulk sms platform they are very dubious about there sms pricing, you will think you have a good deal, but you are dead wrong, i found out the hard way. Correct me if am wrong, a bulk sms platform advertises his price list of 0 - 500 units at the rate of 1.8k, if you buy 500 units you are expected to pay 900naira. On a normal basis you are entitled to 500 bulk sms, which means you are allowed to send to 500 pone numbers, based on the unit you just purchased. Now if you follow this scenario you are dead wrong, now what they do is charge you a separate rate based on the network you are sending to ranging from 1.3 - 1.7. So the actual rate you are paying per one sms is 1.8k * (1.3 - 1.7) = 2.34 - 3.06. So if you come across a platform advertising 10,000 - 20,000 as 1.4k per unit, please don't be deceived, you will pay more than that when actually sending the sms. As for me i switched from my former platform after they increased their general rates, but there 1 sms is 1 unit when sending, thinking i got a great deal with this platform. I will not mention the name of the bulk sms sites now, but i feel people need to understand there charges before jumping on the bandwagon of cheap prices. |

Nigeria is a huge market for movies, every year, thousands if not millions of foreign films find their way into Nigeria, from different countries, be it Chinese, American, India, Korean, Philippians etc. Personally am a movie freak, started watching movies at an early age, but I must confess I have a lot of preference for foreign movies, I hardly watch local movies, unless it is extremely well produced like October 1 etc. Presently I can’t recommend any local TV series, not an ardent follower of any local series, but this post is to share my top TV series I have watched which I also recommend for you to watch. So are the top 10 TV series to watch in no particular order. 24 hours What!!! a movie, I have never and I repeat never re-watched a TV series I have seen before, but after watching season 1 to season 8, I started all over again to watch the complete seasons, before finally watching season 9 online. I really over enjoyed this TV series, in terms of acting, suspense, reality, action it got everything right, it was a master piece. 24 hours TV series is very extremely popular, if not the most popular TV series in my local country; even children are familiar with the lead actor name Jack Bauer. If you love action and you want to be entertained then I recommend 24hours TV series for you to watch. Jumong On getting to a friend’s place, I saw him cuddled up in front of his 50inch TV, watching jumong with so much keen interest, I really wondered what’s the fuss about this movie, until I also tried the drug, immediately I was addicted and from there I fell in love with Korean series. Jumong is a story of a prince although not a true prince, who later becomes the founder of a nation, the series takes you through, love, betrayal, honor, forgiveness, loyalty all in one movie. The TV series is from season 1 to 9, and also a concluding part from season 1 to 4 named kingdom of the winds. Hustle I know a lot of people will not like this movie because of what it symbolizes, but all in all it’s a great TV series to watch, its plots take a lot of creativity and imagination, with a lot of great acting. The TV Series is from season 1 to 8. Hustle is a British TV series and you will be introduced to the world of Micky Stones, the world greatest grafter. House of Cards I recently watched this American version, and I really loved it, if you are a mature movie lover, you will enjoy this, but this kind of movie is not meant for everyone, because it’s not your typical action nor comedy movie, it is a movie about real power, power play and how to play a dirty game to become the most powerful man on earth. The TV series is from season 1 to season 3. Naruto Naruto is the best manga TV series I have ever watched, believe me far better than most normal TV series, it has a lot of interesting plots and characters, and if you are lover of great story line and great fighting scenes, you will love this. During my NYSC in 2008 I was introduced to Naruto by a friend, and since then, I still read the comic version online, until the series officially ended in November 2014, but the TV series is still airing, which I follow religiously every week, and believe me, millions of people worldwide watch Naruto. If you have not joined the train, I sincerely encourage you to. King Gwanggaeto the great I had to choose between three great Korean movie in order to select this one, this was far superior, yes another Korean movie, but this TV series shows the life, struggle of one of the greatest men in Korean history, he ruled a particular kingdom named Gorguyeo for over 22yrs. What I love about most Korean historical movies, they don’t preach fairy tale, they show you the hardship they went through in order to achieve their dreams, they are committed to their dreams, and are willing to wait and fight for it. I have seen a lot of great Korean movies but for this list, I just want to limit it to 2, soldier – God of war is also a great TV series to watch. True Blood Yes there a lot of great vampire/werewolf movies out there, but I think I will choose this over vampire diaries, the originals, teen wolf. True blood has a lot of in depth in terms of plots and suspense compared to vampire diaries or others, I really enjoyed the TV series, although very graphical when it comes to sexual content, but all in all, it’s a great TV series to watch, and you will definitely not be bored. Prison Break Prison break is an extremely popular film in my home country, especially among the female fans because of the lead actor, but all in all, prison break is a long seasonal movie that will captivate you from season 1, especially t-bag’s role, it has a lot of plots and interesting twists, that makes it a good movie to watch. The Sopranos If you are looking for one of the best Italian mafia TV series to watch, I recommend the sopranos, filled with suspense and intrigue, and a lot of interesting characters and scenes to keep you glued to the screen. It’s from season 1 to season 6. Desperate Housewives Sincerely I never thought I will enjoy nor even watch this TV series, but out of boredom and no other available TV Series to watch at that time, I just felt let me try season 1, how bad can it be, well it was simply fabulous and interesting, under a week I was already in season 4, until I reached season 8 the final season, I didn’t watch any other movie. So there we have it, although there are a lot of great TV series worth mentioning on my list, but I had to limit it to 10, but one thing I know, you won’t regret watching any of the TV series listed here. Embattled President of the Nigerian Shipowners Association of Nigeria (NISA), retired Capt. Niyi Labinjo and his wife, Bola were yesterday arrested and detained by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). They were arrested at the anti-graft agency’s office in Ikoyi, Lagos in connection with a ship purchase scandal involving them and an indigenous shipping company, Acenk Maritime and Energy Services Limited. The couple were detained overnight at the EFCC office and had not been able to meet their stringent bail condition. It would be recalled that SHIPS & PORTS DAILY had reported exclusively in its edition of Monday 26th January 2014 that Mrs. Adenike Jolapamo-Onifade, daughter of the founder and immediate past Chairman of NISA, Chief Isaac Jolapamo, had accused Labinjo and his wife of allegedly diverting part of a USD5.85million loan facility granted by a first generation commercial bank to her company, Acenk Maritime and Energy Services Limited for the purchase of two vessels. Jolapamo-Onifade had dragged the couple before the EFCC. Usually reliable sources informed SHIPS & PORTS DAILY that EFCC officials had on Wednesday last week sent a letter to NISA asking the association to produce their President latest by Monday this week. The Labinjos were said to be out of town at the time. The EFCC operatives visited their home and offices in Apapa where they arrested one of his staff and wife’s younger sister, one Abigael Ezeibe. They also towed away three luxury cars allegedly acquired by the Labinjos over the past three months. The couple were arrested yesterday when they went to the EFCC office in honour of the invitation. In her petition, Jolapamo-Onifade had accused Capt. Labinjo and Mrs. Bola Labinjo of diverting close to $2million out of a $6.5million deal to acquire an oil tanker and a fast speed intervention vessel (FSIV). The commercial bank gave a facility of USD5.85million while the beneficiary company was expected to make an equity contribution of 10 per cent or $650,000. Jolapamo-Onifade said that while the FSIV was purchased and delivered to Nigeria, the Labinjos failed to remit the remaining $2.3million for purchase of the oil tanker. She said a good part of the $2.3million had found its way from the shipbroker, Radunia International Corporation of Greece into various company accounts said to be owned by the Labinjos. She said after waiting for more than a month without any headway, she approached one of her friends at Fidelity Bank where the Labinjos maintain their company accounts where she discovered that rather than pay for her 5,000dwt oil tanker with the balance $2.3million, Radunia had been transferring the money into various accounts allegedly belonging to the Labinjos. She claimed that Radunia severally transferred money to Transunion Credit Agency Nig. Ltd, Global Shipping Activities Bureau Limited and Soughtafter International Synergy Ltd – all companies Jolapamo-Onifade claimed are owned by Labinjo and his wife. She alleged that a total of $1,125,530 (N216million) of the first generation bank loan had been transferred by the supposed shipbroker, Radunia International Corporation to the companies. The telex transfer documents revealed that Radunia transferred USD220,000 to Transunion Credit Reporting Agency Nig. Ltd on 17/10/2014; USD20,000 on 6/11/2014; USD300,000 on 17/11/2014 and USD350,000 on 25/11/2014. Radunia also transferred USD230,000 to Soughtafter International Synergy Ltd on 6/10/2014 and USD5,530 to Global Shipping Activities Bureau Limited on 6/11/2014. But when contacted, Labinjo denied having any business transaction with Jolapamo-Onifade. “I am aware she had a business transaction with my wife. They had an MoU but along the line, there was a breakdown of the agreement. Trust was also lost. I am aware also that there are arrangements to return all the loan to her so that she can go her way since the working agreement is not working,” he told SHIPS & PORTS DAILY. When asked how soon he thinks Acenk Maritime & Energy Services Limited would get the money back, he said “very soon”. Reacting to the SHIPS & PORTS DAILY article on Tuesday last week, General Secretary of NISA, Mr. Tunji Brown disclosed that the association would investigate the matter and ask Labinjo to step down as President if need be. “I am currently consulting with the executive members but we want to set up a committee quickly to look at the allegations and the position of the association is; if they are found to be true, we will ask the president to step down. “That is the position but we want to set up a committee to look at them quickly. This will be done today (yesterday) because we are going to meet with him and if they are found to be true, we will ask him to step down. We cannot allow that. So that is what we will be doing today on the matter,” Brown told SHIPS & PORTS DAILY. Source: http://shipsandports.com.ng/efcc-arrests-labinjo-wife-over-6-5m-ship-purchase-scandal/ |
As a Yoruba person I find it irritating when I am being judged by misconceptions people have about my tribe, or not being judged based on who i am. We have failed to be one as a nation because of the so called belief we have about each particular tribe, which are mostly untrue and a biased opinion being passed down from one generation to another.Source: top10ng.com/top-10-misconceptions-yoruba-tribe/ |
