Congratulations sir. May your tenure bring great tidings to NOUN sir.

It's increasingly clear that it is a lie and failed history revisionists peddled the falsehood that it is a taboo for you and past Obas to leave your palace. They did not know that one day, internet will come and expose them with pictures of past Obas outside their palace and even bowing to greet the Queen of England.

This is very impressive of HE Matawale. Nigerians of nothern extraction currently serving in the federal cabinet of FG must defend the services they rendered to the nation. I expect someone like Mallam Ribadu to speak up too because he has been doing a great job as the NSA.

It's a worthy challenge and it's only if you have nothing to show as proof of your service to the nation that you will keep silent when you are being challenged by NEF who belong to your constituency. It is not today that NEF attacks APC- led FG, they work for HE Atiku and constantly attacking PMB then too.

Yinmu. The missiles destroyed the military bases inside Israel where the F-35 jets used to bomb the Iranian embassy are parked.
Here's a report on Sky news tv quoting inside sources within Israel.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ilb2cm3_VPY?si=QeNgle2Y8PsDB38S

War is bad so let's stop the mischief. It was so bad that Israel can't show the world the devastation it caused.

I am so happy for the lives saved and that could have been lost if those 300+ missiles and drones successfully landed in Israel. Isreal is a tiny country and not everyone inside Israel supports the war or are Israeli. There are Nigerians currently in Isreal now for various reasons, missiles don't identify nationalities or religion when it explodes. Please pray for this war to end.

Yeah, according to the list but not true representation of someone like Chief Mike Adenuga who is worth far more but because Glo and some of his businesses like the upstream arm of conoil are not listed on the stock exchange, they are not accurately included. Those two businesses are far more lucrative and worth far more but not listed on the stock exchange unlike Dangote and Rabiu who listed their own businesses. It's like calculating the worth of Dangote minus the Dangote Refinery

Business / Africa’s Top 10 Billionaires In 2024 by FreeStuffsNG: 11:11pm On Apr 14
Africa’s millionaire population to reach 195,000 by 2032

Africa is widely recognized as one of the most challenging environments globally to establish and sustain a billion-dollar fortune.

Global investors remain cautious about its stock exchanges, while businesses grapple with economic strains, inadequate infrastructure, and fluctuating exchange rates.

Despite these challenges, Africa has produced billionaires (about 20) whose collective net worth exceeds $80 billion as of April 2024 according to Forbes estimates. Femi Otedola, for example, has seen his fortune rise to $1.8 billion, reflecting a trend of notable rebounds. However, some argue that entrenched family wealth or close government ties still dominate Africa’s richest ranks.

Take, for instance, Nigeria’s Aliko Dangote, whose fortune surged by $2.2 billion to reach $16.1 billion between January 22, 2024, and April 12, 2024, despite the naira’s devaluation in 2023 and other adversities.

Undoubtedly, Africa presents challenges for businesses. Nevertheless, the continent’s top 10 billionaires are forging ahead, undeterred by the obstacles they face.

10. Koos Bekker
Networth-$2.7 billion

Koos Bekker is South African billionaire who led Naspers, a publisher in 2001, acquiring a significant stake in the Chinese Internet giant Tencent Holdings for a reported $34 million—an investment widely regarded as one of the most lucrative venture decisions in history.

By 2019, Naspers restructured its portfolio, allocating assets to two publicly traded entities: entertainment firm MultiChoice Group and Prosus, which houses the valuable Tencent stake. Bekker retired as CEO of Naspers in March 2014, but returned to the company as chairman in April 2015.

It's likely another history revisionism.

Wikipedia is not credible, it is not even accepted as a reference and with the previous failed attempt to revise the history of the Yoruba who produced the present day Benin royalty and Yoruba Awori's prime place as the original and authentic owners of Isale Eko, Lagos, many people will doubt any account of 'history' from same place wink

That a descendant of same Obaseki could even be a Governor today shows that the family has not lost its place of significance in Benin or suffered from any wrong proclamation against him and his descendants.

Not all the drones and cruise missiles were intercepted. Just one missile alone fired from inside Iran that eventually successfully landed in Isreal is an act of war.

One more thing, it's very expensive to intercept those drones and missiles. Such costs became a serious problem when tax payers in UK discovered that the UK spent about $1m to intercept an Iran-made drone that costs far less fired by the Houthis. It was after the uproar that the UK went low key in the war against the Houthi.
The cost is always very huge on the part of the US and Israel. Iran manufactures cheap and potent technological weapons and the west doesn't have that comparative advantage.

To destroy anything in life is easy o, it's to build that takes time, energy and resources. I am increasingly concerned that those Isreali resettled by the west, UK and US in the current location around 1940 may not be able to celebrate a centenary celebration in that place. There are people inside Israel who want peace with their neighbouring countries but those people are never heard. War of 6 months, hostages yet to be returned and now this. It's a mental siege and it's not sustainable.

Iran has deepened its relationship with Russia since the Ukraine war started and I will not be surprised that Russia has helped their nuclear power and capabilities.

They all should please give peace a chance.

More than 100 Drones from Iran to take hours before reaching target locations inside Israel and places Iran called "occupied territories ". Isreal media reports that ballistic cruise missiles are coming with the drones too. Oil market to go into turmoil.

Iran calls it a response to Isreal's assassination of her top Generals lodged inside Iranian embassy in Damascus, Syria when Israel bombed the embassy few days ago. The US has denied involvement in the attack on Iran's embassy in Syria. No wonder KLM quickly suspended all its flight over Iran, Lebanon and Israel.

Foreign Affairs / Iran Has Launched Drone Attacks Against Israel by FreeStuffsNG: 9:10pm On Apr 13
The drones are expected to take several hours to reach Israel.

Iran launched dozens of drones directly from its territory against Israel on Saturday night, in a radical change from its usual use of proxies, the IDF has confirmed.

The military said that it is ready to shoot them down, though air defense is not hermetic.

The IDF's shoot-down capabilities include aircraft, Iron Dome, David's Sling, and the Arrow missile system.

In addition, the military can use GPS scrambling to disable certain kinds of attacking drones.

The drone attacks could take hours or more to arrive in Israel while traveling across such potential countries as Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, and other areas.

There are concerns that Tehran or its proxies may also fire long-range ballistic missiles and other rockets at Israel in some kind of overlapping wave with the drone attacks.

The Islamic Republic's attack comes after it accused Israel of killing top Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commander Muhammad Reza Zehidi on April 1, who had directed its proxy attacks on Israel in Lebanon and Syria, including being a top coordinator with Hezbollah.

The IDF declined to publicly commit to a preemptive strike on Iran now that the drones have been launched.

The Israel Airports Authority announced that Israeli airspace would close starting at 12:30 a.m. local time.

Shortly after the Iranian strike began, Iraqi officials announced that Iraqi airspace was being closed.

Hmm if Nigerian breweries can be affected, what's now the fate of companies not as big as them.
Smaller companies are less exposed and nimble enough to quickly navigate and adjust. When businesses get big they trade off such advantages for bigger profits and when situation calls for quick innovation they are not quick enough to quickly respond and innovate.
A small company doesn't need the engagement and approval of a labour union to lay off workers or reallocate their human resources but Nigerian Breweries plc must first do this meanwhile valuable time is being taken before it innovates.

The Naira has been defended against the USD for decades and it's a form of subsidy the FG has been giving businesses but with that gone, businesses must restrategize and for a market leader like NB, they will bounce back. The rights issue is going to be successful.
