Dreambeat: I have always known you to be an old member of this forum and never saw you as a kid.Alas I was wrong.Never knew you were a bigot. Its shame that someone like you could make a comment like this. Please don’t let hate becloud your sense of reasoning.Nuff said!
What the guy said is nothing but the truth - face it and stop behaving like a kid.
UdemeJoshua: The sub-heading is (Uber Bans A Driver For Throwing Lesbian Couple Out Of Her Car In New Jersey) now the body of the story is Female Uber driver chase two Gay out of his car after noticing the passengers are gay. it was lesbian, now is gay,wat a fucking mix up.dam shit.
Area4Area: Woww, good to know and that means you see and handle several species of snakes? I'm not sure you can make heaven bros, I can't even stand the sight live
What bearing does handling snakes have with making heaven?
Dedetwo: I guess you could be forgiven for the lapse in comprehension. I never wrote that someone's academic is an embarrassment. The statement of academic embarrassment had nothing to do with possessive form. It was all about the football argument which tends to be academic in nature. If you cannot comprehend properly, I pray you buzz off my posts.
You lie. You wrote it. Nevertheless, whatever you had in mind, your remark was grossly contemptuous. I doubt, with mountains of pride i have seen in you, you’ll take it without feeling insulted.
Dedetwo: How can a person fathoms the means to redeem Africa's problems when most Africans have concluded the success in an ordinary football can only be achieved through physicality?
“...most Africans have concluded...”
Who conducted the survey that revealed the above assertion?
Dedetwo: Mr. grammatical expert, it is a pleasant moment to realize you do not a grip on the structure of grammar.
I made no claim of being an expert in the use of English. You said someone academic is embarrassment but are blind to your deficiencies, as it’s evident in the highlighted expression.
Dedetwo: Are you out of your freaking mind? Stop making nonsense of yourself. What the hell is African football when almost the 22 players on the pitch for AFCON ply their football in the regions other than Africa? In fact, your argument above is simply silly. Thank goodness you have agreed that Aguero is a physical player. A person wonders what define your African football and its physicality. I guess the CF must be 6ft 3in or above who is a useless stiff that can hardly control his balance on the field talk less the ball.
I do not have time for such illogicality. One of the deadliest strikers in the football is barely 6ft or even shorter. The size of CF is not standard. Coaches usually look for big specimen due to set pieces. Eagles need a skilled striker not a dumbass physical stick such as Ighalo. Most Africans who tend to follow stupid trends in the world are ninnies. Maybe this Gohr seemed to have been sold on the crap that certain size is required for CF.
It’s very unnecessary and a start of war with a fellow African. Therein lies one of our problems.
Where is the so-called ‘constructive stream of thoughts’ when a submission is prefaced with such abusive remark?
Dedetwo: Are you a real football fan? What has physicality got to do with soccer artistry? Lionel Messi is barely 5ft 7ins, Raheem Sterling is barely 5ft 7ins and Sergio Aguero is 5ft 8ins. These guys have no physical presence that can scare anybody yet they are forces to be feared in football. Sometimes I feel there is something amiss about Africans in constructive stream of thought. I guess Africans should stop blaming others for their irredeemable backwardness.
Parts of what is ‘amiss about Africans’ are those who see African problems as ‘irredeemable’.
chukel: This is my problem with auction export. Got this info from their website's FAQs. I live in North America, can I still register? Yes, you can register from anywhere in the world, as well as purchase vehicles. However all purchased vehicles must be sold for export outside of USA and Canada. Does it mean these vehicles even the so called clean title are not deemed fit to be used in the US or Canada but only good to be exported to countries like nigeria?
I think it’s partly because they profit from shipping those vehicles as well.
Davichidomelo: From my understanding of all the comments read so far it's risky, it's time taken, it's uncertain, it's stressful, u could get hbp, nd it's not for pple that can afford a clean car or can overlook a little difference cuz from wat I see the total expenses will be close to buying direct from sellers in naija. Just buy wat u can afford here nd have ur peace or look for friends Dat could link u to a cheaper seller or to pay by installments.
Your advice sounds good, but I will risk buying from Auction Export with something very cheap for a start
Perence: In the spirit of giving back. I have been following this thread for a while and I have learnt a lot. I got my Canadian visa long before I thought of giving birth. When I got pregnant we decided to have our last baby in Canada as the order two were born in America. I left abuja for Toronto yesterday 11/05/2019 on British airways. I was asked for my fit to fly, which I gave to them, they made a copy and returned the original to me. My stopover in London was very short, I got into Toronto 8pm local time.i Joined the long queue. They had a part automated immigration system, I used the machine answered the questions and got a printout, after that I was directed to the queue to see the immigration officer that will sign me in. Immigration officers: what are you here for? To have your baby? Me- yes and to visit family to Immigration official- how long are you staying Me- 2mths Immigration officer- where does your family stay? Me- Brampton Immigration Officer- welcome to Canada and congratulations on your baby(as he stamps me in)
I just quickly walked away before he changes his mind.
I prayed for ease of passage, and God exceeded my expectations.
Wishing everyone the best of luck...
A bit strange! No question about medical or doctor’s appointment?
When buying your car from USA, one thing you should never overlook is the distance between the location of the car and the closest port of exit. This is very critical because it's a major determining factor of the total cost of landing your car to Nigeria especially for those on a budget. If you don't pre-determine the distance to the closest port before buying your car, you may end up paying up to additional N900,000 ($2,500) to transport your car within the United States in a bid to get it to the port. Then you'll pay another N306,000 ($850) as ocean freight from the US port to the Nigerian port. That's a total cost of N1,206,000 ($3,350) as against a total cost that can be as low as N360,000 ($1,000) if the car is purchased at a location very close to the port. Certainly, no one will be happy with such a deal. Don't make the mistake of buying a 2005 Toyota Corolla from Alaska thinking you will get it to Nigeria at a good price. The trucking and shipping cost alone will shake your bank account without mercy.
I decided to write about this because it's one of the most popular questions we receive from our Autojosh followers. Some were even forced to ask after they had made the mistake of buying their cars from a wrong location. One bought his car in Alaska while the other bought his in Hawaii. They were excited by the cheap prices they saw on online auctions but immediately realised it was a bad idea when they received the invoices from their shipping agents after the bids had been won. The person that bought from Hawaii got an outrageous bill of about $3,700 to get his 2006 Toyota Rav4 to Lagos. They eventually returned the cars to wherever they were bought as shipping to Nigeria wouldn't have made any economic sense. Note that auction companies usually charge a fees for such returns.
Today, we'll be looking at the location of 11 USA ports through which you can easily ship your cars to Nigeria as well as the Shipping lines that sail from those ports:
1. Baltimore, Maryland: Grimaldi and Sallaum Shipping Line
2. Boston, Massachusetts: Sallaum
3. Freeport, Texas: Sallaum
4. Galveston, Texas: Grimaldi.
5. Jacksonville, Florida: Grimaldi and Sallaum
6. Newark, New Jersey: Sallaum
7. New York (NYCT): Grimaldi
8. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: Sallaum
9. Providence, Rhode Island: Grimaldi
10. Savannah, Georgia: Grimaldi
11. Wilmington, Delaware: Grimaldi
Most people prefer to ship their cars through Grimaldi as the cost of clearing cars that arrive on Sallaum can be more expensive especially in the case of more recent cars.
After you've determined the port through which your car will be shipped, the next step will be to calculate the shipping cost. Our next post will be about how to calculate the estimated cost of shipping your car from USA to Nigeria.
Is there any other port or shipping line you've shipped through recently? Tell us about it in the comment section if we don't have it on this list.
Babzcom: If you’re buying a used iPhone or repairing an iPhone, you may wonder if you can find out if the iPhone was bought as new, is a refurbished model, or is a replacement device provided by Apple via a service request. Wonder no more, you can use an interesting device model identifier trick to discover if an iPhone is new, refurbished, a replacement, or even personalized by engraving. This can be helpful information for buyers of used devices, if you’ve received a device as a gift or hand-me-down, if you’re troubleshooting or repairing an iPhone, and more.
How to Determine if iPhone is New, Refurbished, Replacement, or Personalized
You can decipher the device model prefix to determine the original status of an iPhone (and probably an iPad too) device, here’s how:
Open the “Settings” app on the iPhone
Go to “General” and then go to “About”
Look for “Model” and then read the model identifier next to that text, it will look something like “MN572LL/A”, the first character will let you know if the device is new, refurbished, replacement, or personalized
M – Brand new device, meaning the device was purchased new
F – Refurbished device, meaning the device has been through refurbishing process
N – Replacement device, meaning the originally bought device was replaced by this model likely due to a service request
P – Personalized device with engraving, meaning the device was customized with an engraving on purchase
That’s all there is to it, now you know how to determine if an iPhone is new, referred, replaced, or other. It’s possible there are some other identifier prefixes for iPhone devices that aren’t listed here, if you know of any do share them in the comments.
I have tested this with a handful of my own iPhone devices that I know are either new, refurbished, or replacements, and it has held up. I haven’t personally seen the “P” identifier however.
By the way, it’s important to note the model identifier shown here (like MN572LL/A) is different from the general model (like iPhone X) and model number of the iOS device (like A1822) – admittedly a bit confusing since they all have similar labels, but they are indeed entirely different things.
rcspy: 1 month ago, we had our beautiful daughter in Toronto, Canada. We give all our thanks to God Almighty and to the wonderful people on this platform who shared and continue to share free information everyday. We followed most of your recommendations and everything went well.
VISA APPLICATION We had our first baby in the US but decided to try Canada this time. I applied for a tourist visa while I was already pregnant because I actually planned to go as a tourist. My husband insisted that it was necessary to use the visa for the actual purpose for which we applied for it which was tourism.
Our application was online — we provided the usual documents and under 3 weeks, I was called to drop-off my passport.
For the purpose of tourism, I did go for 1 week in September 2018. Because I was pregnant, they thought I was coming for childbirth, I had to clarify that I had come for tourism only.
I went again in November 2018, this time, it was for the purpose of childbirth.
POINT OF ENTRY As soon as I mentioned to the officer that I was coming for the purpose of childbirth, they asked me to move to another room. I queued briefly before being interviewed. The interviewer was mean, and unkind, despite my efforts to be as honest as possible. When I told her I was coming for childbirth, she said: “This is exactly what Donald Trump is trying to stop in America and when we have elections next year, our new government will also stop this”. I showed her evidence of my payment for my accommodation and hospital. Her main problem is that I applied as a tourist and did not disclose I was pregnant. I replied that I had already come as a tourist in September.
She asked me about my ties to Nigeria and I mentioned that my husband and my employment are in Nigeria.
After about an hour’s wait, she asked me to come forward and said “i’m letting you in on the condition that you leave on the EXACT DATE on your return ticket and also on the condition that this is the first and last baby you have in Canada.” She stapled a slip into my passport.
ACCOMMODATION/TRANSPORTATION My sister-in-law lives in Toronto and was happy to take me around. Unfortunately, her place was too small so when my mum came, we moved into an Airbnb. My experience with Airbnb is that it is expensive and while some hosts are good, many of them are not really honest. If you have good family/friends with enough room, please stay with them, its better.
I bought a SIM card from Chatr Mobile. You can see their data and voice plans here: https://www.chatrwireless.com/web/chatr.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=PlanBrowse It is advisable you get one when you arrive because you will need to make calls for appointments and probably call Uber etc. Their plans are very expensive, unlike Nigeria where we pay N1000 for 1GB; To get 1GB for 1 month, you have to pay about N10,000 but it comes with unlimited calls within Canada. Please click the link for further details. Best to walk into a store because the website does not accept Non-Canadian cards.
DELIVERY Thanks to this platform, we found Humber River Hospital in Toronto. They charge CAD2680 for mummy + CAD825 for baby for 24 hours/1 night. This fee applies for both vaginal and C-section. Once you check in, you can check out in the night of the next day. I checked in January 10 around 11am and checked out January 11, around 8pm.
There is only wifi on the ground floor so having a SIM card and data on your phone comes in handy at this point
We paid cash a month before baby came. You can also pay with your card but we preferred cash. We also paid CAD800 for the anaesthesia because I had a c-section. He had originally charged CAD1200 but I negotiated with him. I also paid cash and he mailed me a receipt. His name is Dr. Quint, and he is very good. Unfortunately, you can’t choose your own anaesthesist; it just depends on who’s on call on that day.
Same for pediatrician, it also depends on who is on call that day. We had Dr. Sally Kenway, who I paid cash to (CAD100) on the day after baby was born.
Now for the Dr., we found Dr. Ted Kosalka via this platform and chose him for 2 reasons: 1. He did not ask for a referral like all the other Drs. He simply asked that we bring my medical history/antenatal history from Nigeria. Which I got from the hospital I was doing my antenatal 2. His price was affordable —CAD2000 for both C-Section and Vaginal. But this is without appointments. I paid CAD120 for my appointment and CAD60 for every other appointment. Kindly note that Dr. Ted does not accept card payments. He will ONLY accept cash. So take enough cash from Nigeria. He will also accept USD if you can get a reliable conversion rate to show him. I went at 28 weeks but saw Dr. Ted for the first time at 31 weeks. He said a lot of Nigerians call him.
5 days after baby, we went to see a pediatrician for her first wellness check. His name is Dr. Joseph Porepa. We paid $100. We were informed that subsequent checks are not really necessary if baby is healthy and well, but its your prerogative. We will commence her vaccinations in Nigeria because she has to take BCG first.
BIRTH CERTIFICATE & PASSPORT APPLICATION On the day we checked out from the hospital, they provided all the information we need for the birth certificate application. The best place to do it is online and then they ship it to you once its ready. One common mistake people make and we also made is to forget to register the birth. Once you apply for the birth certificate, the confirmation page will prompt you to register the birth immediately. Please do both. It didn’t take take long (about 2 weeks tops). You can also phone this number if you need help: +14163258305
One important thing you will need is a guarantor — this person must have a Canadian passport. Click the link and see pages 3-8 (sections A-L) for ALL the information that you need including prices (CAD57 for child and additional CAD20 if you want to pick up at their office). Processing time is standard 10 business days — it is guaranteed if you do everything right.
If the father of the child is not present in Canada, do not sign his part of the form, inform them at the Passport Canada Office and they will need the father to go to the Canadian Embassy in Nigeria to give his consent.
Nigerian Passport & Visa on Arrival
We decided to do Visa on arrival this time instead of Nigerian Passport. We got someone in immigration headquarters to help with the approval for Visa on Arrival which cost 30k. its this approval you will take to the airport for the baby.
Summary of Fees Paid. Mummy CAD2680 — cash or card (we used GTB Naira Card) Baby CAD825 — cash or card (we used GTB Naira Card) Anaethesist (for C-section or those who opt for epidural) CAD800-CAD1200 (depending on who is on call) — cash only Pediatrician CAD100 (also depending on who is on call)
For more information please read this entire thread from the first day, because that’s what helped us. Thank you all so much and God bless you.
Jayslicky: If women were stronger than men, the rape cases will be double of what it is now, women harrass men in different ways but we hardly hear of it because men are not cry babies, as for this breastless and apish Kenyan woman she should serve a very long sentence for raping a minor, she should be given same punishment men will have received if in this situation.
This video showing Nigerian Prophet T.B. Joshua predicting impending military intervention in the government of a Southern African country has been circulating like wildfire on social media in Zimbabwe.
The undated video shows the controversial cleric speaking to his congregation at The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) in Lagos, Nigeria about military plans to “get rid of a President in a region of Southern Africa”.
“The military are interested in embarrassing a President - either they kill him or kidnap him,” Joshua says in the clip which has been shared thousands of times on Facebook and WhatsApp.
“They are still having that plan to kidnap either a President or Vice-President of that nation or the First Lady of that nation,” the cleric stated, adding that this would cause “uproar”.
Joshua said he knew the country in question but would not directly name it lest it leads to undue “pandemonium”.
Before events unfolded on Tuesday with the military taking power, the prominent privately-owned Zimbabwean newspaper ‘NewsDay’ featured the prophecy on the front page of their Monday 13th November 2017 edition, claiming Joshua had reiterated the prediction last week.
Online news portal Nehanda TV similiarly shared the video on Monday with the title, ‘Is TB Joshua talking about a Coup in Zimbabwe?’
Since the news broke of the Mugabe’s being placed under house arrest alongside the return of ousted Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa, many have linked unfolding events to Joshua’s proclamation.
“I'm not a fan of 'Prophets' but hate him or love him, TB Joshua had 'seen' this coming,” wrote Zimbabwean Tich Ray on Twitter.
However, Joshua’s official channel ‘Emmanuel TV’ has yet to release any video concerning the prophecy.
This is not the first high profile prediction Joshua has given concerning a Southern African President after the video of him ‘prophesying’ the death of Malawian leader Bingu Mutharika went viral in 2012 and led to an official judicial investigation by the Malawian government.
There will be earthquake in the middle east. I don't want to be too specific so as not to put fear in people. If you people (not me) don't pray hard enough, it will surely happen. Is that a prophecy?
