Phones / Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by frekyfrik(f): 5:19pm On May 10, 2018 |
Hi everyone, Please just a quick shout out to all the gurus in the house. A couple of pages back, I asked for your opinion about the best Xiaomi phone to go for. As a result of all your recommendations and suggestions, my mind tilted from Mi Max 11 to Note 5 Pro. I took delivery of my first Xiaomi phone yesterday - Xiaomi Note 5 Pro. Thank you guys! On opening the phone however, I realized it was the Chinese ROM version. I honestly was not attentive when I was told it was the only version available. Although I have the option of returning it if I am not okay with it, but I would like to know if the Chinese ROM is 'something one could live with', without massive regrets later. Apart from google services that are not pre - installed, please are there other hidden 'terms and condition' that I need to know about upfront? |

Elslim: My brother, Xiaomi has got to be the most confusing and over saturated product line up ever. Trying to make sense of the names, models, in order of increasing capacity, is the most distressing activity I have engaged in lately. Even in the Redmi 5 series, you still have to choose between redmi note 5 Pro, REDMI note 5 plus, Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5A Prime etc. So now I think basically my contest of choice is between Mi Max 2 and one of the 4 listed redmi 5 series |
This is a very interesting thread. A lot of people are asking what the best pathway is....I wish to disappoint you. There's no pathway to success...the same route followed by Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook is the same path that others have followed and they failed. Timing of your decision is very important. Moving fast could be as dangerous as moving too slow. Speak to a career advisor (in the absence of an advisor), speak to someone that has achieved some level of success in the career path that suits you. It is disappointing that in this day and age, a Nigerian would save up N7m and dash it out to the Queen of England in the name of Masters/MBA, only to be kicked out after the programme. Gets back home with a British MBA and starts to write aptitude test and seeking for a job that pays less than N100k monthly. You should only seek such attainment when you have the necessary tools e.g. professional certification or relevant experience to prove that you're a master of that profession/skill. Go on LinkedIn and check how many Nigerians have lofty Ivy-League MBAs.... People with Imperial MBA, Whatron MBA, Duke, Berkerly, Booth, Cranfield, LSE, etc they all want the same job as you. You need to convince an employer that u're better than these people, and ONE of the easy ways to deal with that is your understanding of the fundamentals. E.g. for Accounting profession, having ICAN or ACCA proves to the employer that u know the basics of Accounting and having passed that exam means YOU ARE RUGGED. Those exams dont come easy (even for First class graduates). Also, a moderate experience in an Audit firm (even the local ones) proves that you have seen the financial statements of different organisations. Simply put, you are DEEP and VAST. The employer would decide if it wants someone to brag about (imperial MBA) and/or someone to stay overnight until all transactions are reconciled and accurately reported. At the end of the day, the best people are those that have obtained ICAN/ACCA, garnered moderate experience and Obtains the ALMIGHTY MBA...then the employer is forced to place them in Senior Roles (as they have proof of doing the detailed work) and Also an MBA to proof their managerial competency. Dont be deceived. They global standard employers dont care if you have PHd, what they want is someone that meets the basic requirement and proof to be able to do the job. I know Zenith bank's age limit for Entry Level is 2nd Class Upper and 25yrs for BSc and Master Degree holders but they allow 27yrs old for ICAN/ACCA holders, even HND+ICAN+27yrs old is accepted. PwC also gives consideration if u're slightly older but have ICAN/ACCA. If I were to start my career afresh, I would finish with a degree...... 1. Obtain a REPUTABLE professional qualification e.g. CFA, CIPM, SHRM, ICAN, ACCA, CISA, CIBN, etc (depending on what path i want) 2. work for a few years with a REPUTABLE firm that specialises in that chosen field (e.g, HR Firm, Audit Firm, Law Firm, Archy Firm, etc) 3. Seek ivy-league MBA (STRICTLY Top-ranked schools). Pls note that only 6 schools in the UK make the list of World best 100 business schools If you want an employer to take you because of your MBA, the reputation of your school is VERY VERY IMPORTANT. Nevertheless, with your average MBA, people still get employed because they are smart (which maybe attributed to the knowledge from MBA). Choose wisely!!! []Thumbs up, brother! You have said it all. He that has ears, let him hear..... |

G12: The God that did it for me, will do it for you! Keep your faith alive and never, even for one second, ponder on the lies of the devil that there are no jobs in this country or you need to know somebody to get it. Believe that every day, people are getting great jobs! Believe that wherever God wants you to be, he will divinely connect you and take you there. Lift your eyes from around you and look above you absolutely and the God whose eyes searcheth to and fro the entire world, will choose the right person to use to get you to where he wants you to be. That is how mine came. 2 Likes |

Health / Re: Intimate Wash Product: Its Side Effects Or Benefits by frekyfrik(f): 2:06pm On Jul 03, 2014 |
I find this thread very interesting, I would suggest that you take out time to read the reviews of some of these products. The review has helped me to understand some things. For instance, there's a wash u can use on a daily basis for hygienic purposes. Everteen natural intimate wash is a good example, because it's very mild. Where infection or the risk of is an issue, then u can go for Lactacyd or Vwash. The later shouldn't be used daily, except in cases of chronic infection. It should also be noted that in cases of infec tion, they are no substitute for prescribed medicine. They can only be used together with a prescribed antibiotics. U can read the reviews of some of these washes on this link http://www.reviewsandlifestyle.com/2013/02/lactacyd-feminine-wash-review.html 1 Like |

"The race is not for the swift, neither the battle for the strong, but time and chance happens to them all" If you think you've got it all sorted out, girl fasten your seat belt, you aint seen nothing yet! Pride and boasting goes before a fall. God despises the proud and gives grace to the humble. A word is enough for the wise, 'Mr' or 'Miss' 2.1 does it all! |
