We have many threads on Kenya about Nairaland .Others dating as far as 2007 like this one!https://www.nairaland.com/51356/nairobi-photos-kenya-beautiful-east/201 dadark: |
Ask the person who started this thread! The thing is,this trade is long because there are Kenyans all over the internet, get it? We can sniff when a Nigerian forum is speaking about us! |
Abeokuta,what a name! Ttipsy: |
This is why SA is richer than you! They have the right to call themselves the Giant of Africa which they truly are! Well, not bad for us considering we rely on tea and flowers as a country, you can also take the populations of this countries into context before assessing anything!

I never came up with this figures. The links are there!Either way Nigeria is up there at the top.LOOK IT UP!http://www.theguildng.com/82m-nigerians-living-in-poverty-to-surpass-indian-by-2018/ theenchanter: |
Nairobi has a population of roughly 4m. 80% of it's people translates to about 3.2 m which isn't true! It seems the case for Nigeria is true!Nigeria has surpassed India in the number of it's citizens living below the poverty level Daejoyoung: |
https://www.softpower.ug/parliament-against-plans-to-relocate-un-base-from-entebbe-to-nairobi/ So there were plans to relocate the UN base from Entebbe,Uganda to Nairobi.I just learnt that the UN has now cooled a bit after a protest letter from Museveni and condemnation of the UN by the Ugandan parliament. This was yet another UN steal for Kenya. Ugandans and other member countries complaining of unfair distribution of UN entities should be asking themselves,Why Kenya? Is there a Kenyan cartel in the UN that made the proposal? Or ,is Kenya more appealing to UN and it's staff ? |
https://www.nairaland.com/4330419/nigeria-highest-number-extremely-poor Even in Nairaland,Nigerians are having this conversation! |
https://www.vanguardngr.com/2018/01/67-nigerians-live-poverty-line-presidential-aide/ I had that Nigeria has surpassed India in the number of people leaving below the poverty line? Is this true ? |
Outside SA,no African country beats Kenya in terms of their retail market development. What does that say about Kenyans. Are we obsessed with shopping than many African countries? Are our middle class paid better? Nigeria being the giant of Africa with the biggest GDP on the continent, does it pay better salaries than SA,Egypt,Ghana or Kenya? How strong is the middle class in Kenya compared to the one Nigeria or other African countries? What are the poverty levels in Kenya and Nigeria? Are these numbers increasing or decreasing? What are the literacy levels? The life expectancy? How important is Kenya and Nigeria to the UN ? Are you really the Giant of Africa? |
GDP per capita versus 'real wages' on the ground might say something. An economist might elaborate this better! Taxes and other govt policies must also have an effect! I heard it's very expensive to own a car in Singapore due to policies put in place that seek to encourage usage of public transport! But wages of the man on the ground will say a lot. Well paid citizens would want to acquire luxuries such as cars in their lives. The more of these people the more of cars! ! theenchanter: |
