PoliticsTinubu Impress With Ongoing Infrastructural Transformation In FCT by Freshwhyte(op): 7:20pm On Jun 25, 2025
Tinubu impress with ongoing infrastructural transformation in FCT

President Bola Tinubu says his administration is proud of the ongoing transformation in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to pump life into its economy and foster social wellbeing.

Tinubu stated this in Abuja on Wednesday while inaugurating the newly constructed Interchange that linked Wole Soyinka Way (Arterial Road N20) to Murtala Mohammed Expressway.

The Interchange is the 11 projects inaugurated so far, out of the 17 outlined for inauguration to celebrate Tinubu’s second year in office.

Tinubu, who was represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, said that the FCT had turned around saying, “we are proud of what is happening in the FCT”.

Declaring that even the blind could see the ongoing transformation, the president commended the FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and his management team for the feat recorded so far.

He said that his administration’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” was built on the bedrock of robust infrastructure for the transformation of the country’s fortune.

He noted that the nation’s infrastructure must be strong, clear and efficient to pump life into its economy, and foster social wellbeing.

According to him, the interchange, strategically linking key areas and easing the flow of traffic, will unlock new opportunities for commerce, reduce travel time.

“This will contribute directly to increasing productivity and a better quality of life for all who traverse these vital routes.

“The interchange, a magnificent piece of engineering, is indeed a testament to our unwavering commitment to progress, a beacon of our collective aspiration for a more connected and prosperous FCT.”

Tinubu noted that while rapid urbanisation was a sign of growth, it had also presented challenges, particularly in ensuring smooth and efficient movement of people, goods and services.

This interchange, he said, was a crucial answer to those challenges, designed to alleviate traffic congestion, enhance safety, and significantly improve the daily lives of residents and commuters in the FCT.

He commended the FCT Administration under the dynamic leadership of the Minister, Mr Nyesom Wike, for their vision, dedication and tireless efforts in bringing the project to fruition.

He added that Wike’s commitment to transforming Abuja into a world-class capital was evident in projects of the magnitude.

In his remarks, Wike explained that the project was awarded in 2020 and was completed by the Tinubu-led administration.

“This is in line with your policy of completing abandoned projects that will impact the lives and economy of the people,” he said.

He commended Tinubu’s impactful leadership style, describing it as crucial to the survival of any government.

“When you provide the right leadership, you will get the right results.

“As the president has provided and is still providing the right leadership and that is why we are seeing the results today.

“There’s no magic. It’s just about commitment. The president has committed to see that good things happen in this country and that’s why we have renewed hope,” he said.

The minister also thanked the National Assembly for the support.

The FCT Minister of State, Dr Mariya Mahmoud, equally gave Tinubu’s visionary leadership credit to the numerous achievements recorded so far in the FCT.

Mahmoud said that he completed interchange stands as a testament to Tinubu’s dedication to improving the transportation network to ease the movement of residents in the FCT.

OBIO/AKPOR ADMINISTRATOR HOSTS DELEGATES FROM ARMED FORCES COMMAND AND STAFF COLLEGE, JAJI, FOR STRATEGIC STUDY AND SECURITY INTERACTIVE SESSION

...Sir Dr. Clifford Ndu Walter DSSRS FCAI JP Honoured with Award of Appreciation.

In a proactive move to enhance grassroots security and strengthen collaboration between security agencies and community stakeholders, the Sole Administrator of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Sir Dr. Clifford Ndu Walter DSSRS, FCAI, JP, hosted a high-level interactive session with a delegation from the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji. The session also drew participation from key community stakeholders, including representatives of Community Development Committees (CDCs), youth leaders, and women’s groups.

In his welcome address, Dr. Walter emphasized the significance of the engagement, noting that its approval by relevant authorities underscores a commitment to intelligence-driven security and people-focused governance. He commended the theme of the 2025 study tour—“Harnessing Grassroots Intelligence for Enhanced Internal Security”—as timely and relevant, particularly in light of growing insecurity across Nigeria’s 774 local government areas, including Obio/Akpor.

As the gateway LGA to Port Harcourt, Obio/Akpor is challenged by rapid population growth, which places increasing strain on infrastructure, economic opportunities, and internal security. Dr. Walter stressed the need for synergy among CDCs, vigilante groups, women’s organizations, and faith-based bodies in promoting peace and social cohesion.

“Security is not just a necessity—it is a catalyst for economic progress,” he said. “We have prioritized community engagement as a vital tool for the early detection and resolution of threats to peace and development.”

He reaffirmed the council’s commitment to creating safe, empowered communities and encouraging residents to pursue prosperous futures—quoting Mark Twain: “The secret of getting ahead is getting started.”

Introducing the delegation, Lt. Col. S.A. Uwam explained that the study tour is a key component of the annual curriculum for Senior Course 47 at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College. This year’s delegation comprises 45 senior officers from the Nigerian Army, Navy, and Air Force, accompanied by instructors and administrative staff. Their mission is to conduct field research on security, socio-economic, and cultural issues across selected regions.

Team Leader Commodore S.O. Abulraheem expressed appreciation for the warm reception and highlighted the objective of the visit:

“We are here to gather actionable insights that will inform practical policy recommendations—ones that advance safety, community development, and national security.”

He noted that grassroots intelligence—locally sourced information on suspicious or criminal activity—is essential but often underreported due to fear, mistrust, or limited communication channels.

To commemorate the occasion, the delegation presented a commemorative plaque to Dr. Walter in appreciation of the council’s hospitality and cooperation.

The session, moderated by Lt. Col. Uwam, featured an open forum in which students engaged community leaders—including CDC Chairmen, vigilante representatives, youth leaders, and women’s advocates—on the security challenges facing Obio/Akpor. Participants shared insights on local vulnerabilities and proposed strategies for effective grassroots intelligence gathering and conflict resolution.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks from Scoduran Leader, S.O. Olawale, who praised the council’s initiative.

“This engagement has deepened our understanding of how local governments contribute to peace, security, and development. It has provided us with valuable perspectives that will inform our future operational and strategic roles.”

President of Lombardy In Italy Promises Vocational Training Institute For FCT, Assures of Collaboration For Agric Development

The President of Lombardy Regional Government in Italy, Attilio Fontana, has promised that his government will collaborate with the Federal Capital Territory Administration to strengthen vocational education by establishing a training centre in Abuja and also facilitate training of youths from Abuja in Lombardy.

President Fontana, who was speaking during a meeting in Milan, with the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, also assured of partnership with the FCTA to develop agriculture, especially in the area of modern farming technologies.

Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, who made this known in a statement in Milan, on Thursday, said that Wike and the President of Lombardy Region had extensive discussions on areas of collaboration in agribusiness and vocational education.

The FCT Minister, who thanked President Fontana for the reception accorded him and his team said; We had meetings with your country’s ambassador in Nigeria where we put heads together to see how we can exchange ideas with you and partner with Lombardy Region.

"We are aware that Lombardy Region is very strong in agriculture and vocational education. Ours is to see how we can partner to have investors in agriculture in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria. And to also get assistance in the area of vocational education, to train our youths and women, especially in ICT and other skills acquisitions.

"Abuja has vast fertile land, agro business will thrive there. It has over 800,000 hectares of land out of which 274,000 hectares is earmarked for agricultural development while 270,000 hectares is for forest reserve. Therefore, we are particular about collaboration with your government to develop agriculture in Abuja.

"Also, vocational training for the youths, especially in ICT is key. It gives self employment and once our youths can employ themselves and are taken off the streets, crime will reduce.

"Basically, these are the two areas we are seeking that we can partner together and also get assistance from your government."

Responding, President Fontana said; "You know that Lombardy Region is very strong in industry and battery manufacturing, apart from agriculture. We have a lot of ideas in agriculture too.

"We are willing to collaborate with you in the education of the future because a lot of education is about software, innovation, technology and it is very important. We are the best region in this. More than 30 percent of technical education in Italy is here in Lombardy.

"We can establish something on vocational training in your country and you can also come here to learn our kind of education."

When the Minister asked; "how and when do we start? Like signing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the President responded "Today. Our office will prepare an MoU and your officers will look at it with them, we sign and take off."

On agriculture, the President said; "My team will sit with your team, look at your priority areas and see how will can partner and also be of assistance."

Apart from the Minister, the meeting was also attended by the FCT Mandate Secretaries for Education, Dr. Danlami Hayyo and Mandate Secretary for Agriculture and Rural Development, Lawan Geidam.

PoliticsTell Your Serial Election Contester And Loser To Go And Rest – Wike’s Aide Fires by Freshwhyte(op): 6:08am On Feb 28, 2025
Lere Olayinka, Special Adviser on Public Communication to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has stated that former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, is being haunted by the anti-party seeds he has sown.

He claimed that Atiku sowed the seed of anti-party activities in 2003, 2007, and 2014; a situation which he said still haunts PDP till date.

Olayinka stated this while reacting to claims by Atiku’s media aide, Paul Ibe, that Wike was involved in anti-party activities.

Ibe said the PDP’s letter to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) regarding the recently conducted South South Zonal Congress showed that the FCT minister is being used by President Bola Tinubu to destroy the leading opposition party.

Condemning Ibeh’s remark via a post on social media, Olayinka cautioned Atiku’s followers to stop focusing on Wike.

He urged them to advise their principal to drop his presidential ambition and rest.

Olayinka said: “Better tell your serial presidential election contester and loser to go and rest.

“The seed of anti-party your @atiku sowed in the @OfficialPDPNig in 2003, 2007 and 2014 is still hunting the party till today.

Speaking on the letter addressed to INEC, Ibeh said, “By the way, did you bother to check the date this letter was written and the date it was received by INEC?

“Letter that took 5 days to trek from Wadata Plaza to INEC office and was received 3 days after the Congress was held is what you are celebrating here.

“I pray that very soon, those “Atiku is Coming” people who are feeding from @atiku’s elusive presidential ambition will have the conscience to say the truth and tell the former VP that he lost the opportunity to be the President of Nigeria to his 2003, 2007 and 2014 rebellions against the @OfficialPDPNig.

“Rather than their masturbation on @GovWike this, Wike that, they should fear God and stop their ATIKU IS COMING deceit.

“It is time for Daddy to rest now and let the PDP breathe. DAZZOL.”
PoliticsGov Fubara Paying Rep Member Ugochinyere N4.8bn Monthly - Group Alleges by Freshwhyte(op): 7:26pm On Feb 22, 2025
The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has been accused of servicing his political alignment with the House of Representatives member, representing Ideato North Federal Constituency of Imo State, Ikenga Ugochinyere with N4.8 billion monthly.

The One Nigeria Movement (ONM), which made this allegation in a statement in Abuja on Saturday, said it could not longer keep silent in the face of gross and bare-faced use of money meant for the development of Rivers State to feed a single individual.

According to a statement on by its Convener
General, Ahmed Sodiq-Mugoro and Secretary, Babatunde Aliyu, ONM, said, people of Rivers State must begin to hold the governor accountable and stop the looting being perpetrated, using the political crisis in the State as a cover.

The group alleged that each of the 23 Council Chairmen in the State are made to contribute N100 million monthly as "Political Development Fund" while N2.5 billion comes from Governor Fubara, making N4.8 billion.

This N4.8 billion is said to be meant for the Action Peoples Party (APP), under which the present Local Councils Chairmen and councilors contested the controversial Local Government elections.

Monthly, House of Representatives member, Ugochinyere, collects this sum of N4.8 billion on behalf of his party, APP.

It has therefore become important that the people of Rivers State begin to ask Ugochinyere what investment he made in the State that he is reaping N4.8 billion profit monthly.

Nairaland GeneralConcerned Eminent Eneka Natives Insist That Eneka Is No Igbo Enclave In Rivers by Freshwhyte(op): 9:28pm On Feb 06, 2025
PRESS STATEMENT

CONCERNED EMINENT ENEKA NATIVES INSIST THAT ENEKA IS NO IGBO ENCLAVE IN RIVERS STATE.*

OPENING:
Receive this Statement as a serious reaction to recent misleading, untrue and mendacious information to members of the public by certain persons in Eneka who in their self-seeking bid for validation as Igbos had made tendentious statement in the media conveying the impression that Eneka people of Apara Kingdom are Igbos.
Consequently the Concerned Eminent Eneka Indigenes at home and abroad here and now express our displeasure with the current unguarded utterances and acts of lawlessness being endorsed by Eneka main Chief and others following the personal resolve of our Distinguished Senator John Azuta Mbata's exercise of his franchise to be a member of Ohaneze Ndigbo last month.
Quite appalling is that a Community High Chief who told the Ogbakor Ikwerre official delegation that visited his Home that he's unaware and surprised that one of his Subjects in the person of the Distinguished Senator Mbata had offered himself for the post of President General of Ndigbo, would now turn around to undiscriminatingly assemble a few persons with whom he went with to pay a courtesy call on a Son from the “market,” whom he had denied knowledge of his decision to be the President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo.
More disappointing is that our traditional ruler deliberately misinformed the public by claiming that the visit was orchestrated and assented to by Eneka people. This is far from the truth.
When will all these double standards end? Eneka people have come a long way and do have lots of responsible indigenous minds than what you are given to see and hear of us.

OUR RESPONSE:

Be that as it may, we wish to make matters lucid by saying that:
1. We appreciate the genuine concern of Iwhuruohna traditional rulers, the Pan Iwhuruohna youths and Elders and other bodies for sustaining the Peace, Love and Unity our Fathers laboured for and bequeathed to us all.
2. As Iwhuruoha natives of Eneka Clan, we truly feel encouraged by the various responses calling for caution and urging our Son and Brother, Distinguished Senator John Azuta Mbata to recant his current stance in Ohaneze Ndigbo for the good of the age-old valued distinct Identity and freedom of Iwhuruohna ethnic nationality.
3. That as illustrious indigenes of Eneka, we frown at and do hereby disassociate ourselves from the Statement made by the Senator in his Television Spot Interview on Saturday February 1, 2025, that there are different categories of Iwhuruohna, urging those who claim Bini ancestry to 'go to Bini.’
4. This line of free talk is divisive and capable of evoking all ill wind which could result in Lawlessness.
DANGER:
1. Such remark by Senator Mbata does clearly confirm rumors that the Senator's intention is to be the bridge through which the aggrieved expansionist of Ohaneze Ndigbo will walk to actualize their more than 50 years desire to claim Rivers State as "their 6th Igbo State in Nigeria”
2. We here again emphasize that this is the ill-conceived political agenda to forcefully assimilate the Ikwerre, Etche, Ekpeye, Ogba, Ndoni and other ethnic nationalities they unilaterally drafted into their unacceptable Map of Biafra;
3. It is now clearer that the free donation of the highest Office of President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo to an Ikwerre man is for the sole purpose of gaining a re-entry to claim Port Harcourt as Igbo land.
Shockingly they now found an Eneka illustrious Son who willingly or otherwise accepted the bait set by Ohaneze Ndigbo by capitulating to the attractions of the overture in promises rejected by other kinsmen who were contacted before the Senator.
4. We, the Eneka people are very unhappy with our paramount Chief Rowland Woko and all those who alongside with him are singing songs of divide and rule in Eneka today - all for the sake of stomach infrastructure.
5. Evident now is that this whole blinding drive is political; as evinced in the Senator's promise of more infrastructural developments to Eneka people and also from remarks made by others who spoke to the Press in the same event, disclosing that very soon intention in the Senator's decision to accept the PG position will become clearer to those who are yet to understand him now.
6. As concerned Eneka Natives, We reiterate the unflagging position of all well-meaning Chiefs, Elders and people of Eneka with the stance of Ogbakor Ikwerre Worldwide in this matter.
SECURITY:
1. It is now expedient to call on our dear Executive Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency Siminalayi Fubara KSC., GSSRS., all Law enforcement and Security Agents in the State as well as all opinion leaders of the Rivers tribes to rise to our early call to nip this expansionist tendency in the bud right now; this renewed cruise and push with a few individuals working on their behalf might affect the shared peace and unity existing among Rivers tribes as constituted from inception when Rivers State was created.
2. Let it be known that the end of this neo-political moves by the political faction within Ohaneze Ndi Igbo will affect Rivers State greatly if allowed to fester.
3. This re-entry design of a people having more than five decades of grievances against Rivers People, if left unchecked will blow adversely as an ill wind against all tribes including the Ijaws, Ekpeyes, Ogonis, Etches, Ogbas etc.
4. Our rejection of this re-entry into Rivers State of politically motivated Igbo opinion leaders necessitated our standing hand in hand with the Ikwerre ethnic Nationality. It is said that “a stitch in time saves nine.” It is better to fix a problem as soon as it arises to prevent it from becoming a bigger issue.

THE END:

Shut up, Wike financed your governorship election- Dogara Bombs Governor Mohammed.

… says Bauchi Governor a serial betrayer, ingrate and psychopath

GOV BALA vs HE WIKE: LET THE TRUTH BE TOLD

Like Budha once said, “like the sun and the moon, the truth will always rise”.

Governor Bala Mohammed’s recent outbursts against His Excellency Nyeson Wike the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory though not entirely surprising have only served to expand the vistas of ingratitude and treachery based on what I know. As I witness this gross injustice, the questions I ask myself, are: is my comfort more important than saying the truth and is my fear of conflict worth allowing harm to go unchallenged? I have learned enough over the years to know beyond reasonable doubt that in the face of situations like this, if I choose to prioritize my comfort, I will fail the victim and fail myself. This is because injustice itself is a festering wound, it only grow its worse when brushed aside.

As someone who knows so much because I was the provocateur of the events between the two that I will speak to, I consider my silence not just cowardice but complicity. Therefore, I am not afraid to stand alone or risk conflict. I should not be misunderstood to be defending Wike but simply stating the raw truth that I know and I really don’t give a damn if the truth makes Wike look good. I have learnt to say the truth as I enjoy my freedom from being a slave to human opinion.

For starters, need I remind Governor Bala Mohammed that in 2018 PDP Gubernatorial primaries when we were not too sure he will win because, his then major opponent, Senator Abdul Ningi was the one who constituted the State party structure and had a bosom friend as Party chairman, it was Wike we turned to for help. I had called Wike to plead with him to help us in Bauchi without necessarily disclosing to him that it was Bala Mohammed that we wanted delivered. His response to me, was that are you sure you are in control of the process 100 percent? I said, I wasn’t too sure and he said to me leave it to me, I will help you sort it out.

To do it, Wike first of all made his bosom friend and close ally, Chief Dan Osi Orbih the Chairman of the Panel for the Primaries and said I should discuss whatever I wanted with Chief Dan. We got talking and on the eve of the Primaries, Chief Dan was in Benin city and we needed to get him to Bauchi for the assignment, it was to Wike that I turned to again and his response to me was, my brother, I have told you not to bother about this. Tell Chief Dan to come to meet me in Port Harcourt. I did just that and amazingly Wike provided the private jet that flew Chief Dan to Bauchi and out of Bauchi for the assignment. I can say without fear of any contradiction that Wike bore all expenses for the exercise. It’s therefore shocking that this so called transactional character called Wike did not place any condition whatsoever for his support.

That is just the beginning of the story, I hate to tell but I must. After the emergence of Bala Mohammed as the party flag bearer and having promised to sponsor all the party candidates if he gets the ticket, we were rudely awoken to the reality that Bala Mohammed had no money for his own campaigns let alone for other candidates of the party. Initially I thought it was some kind of a funny joke but as time went, I realized to my utter bewilderment that it was true. It turned out Bala Mohammed had lied to us about his financial capacity. So we had a meeting at my then residence at Wuse 2 Abuja to help raise money and we thought since Bala Mohammed was one time Minister for nearly 6 years he must have built enough goodwill we could harness if we organised a fundraiser for him. A committee was put in place and we spent N20 million to organize the fundraiser at the then Lady Kwai Hall, Sheraton Hotels, Abuja.

Before then, I had asked Bala Mohammed to give me a list of some of the people he had helped while he held sway as Minister for FCT. He obliged me with the list and after calling just four people on the list that I know so well, what they said to me jolted me and I reserve that for some other day. But suffice to say that I knew the fundraiser will be a flop so I was already thinking of alternatives. And as predicted, we had the fundraiser and to cut the long story short, all we raised from the fundraiser was a paltry N48 million and If you deduct the N20 million invested in organising it, that leaves you with a net of N28m. I have the records and our stakeholders are there to bear witness to this .

When it was obvious the masquerade will soon turn to a human being, I told our then two serving Senators who are alive and can testify that the only option we had was to go to a friend and brother, then Governor Wike for assistance. We got tickets and flew to Port Harcourt with Bala Mohammed without informing Wike that we were coming with him. On arrival, we were ushered into the Government house and asked to take our seats and wait for the Governor who was still upstairs to join us shortly. As soon as Wike walked down the stairs to join us and saw Bala Mohammed his visage changed and I noticed he was cold to me for the very first time. He asked us to join him at the dining room for breakfast but excused me while those on my delegation waited. What happened next was nerve raking and humbling, I must say!

He was like, Speaker why did you bring Bala to my house without even caring to find out what our mission was. I said to him, I thought he is your friend since both of you served in the same cabinet under President Jonathan. He said to me let me tell you what you don’t know. When we were ministers, Bala Mohammed allocated plots of land to all Ministers except me. He also recalled how he humiliated him when he went to see him in his office as a colleague Minister just to get an approval to increase the number of floors on a building he had in Abuja, not to beg for plot which he refused to allocate to him. He said Bala Mohammed kept him in his waiting room for hours and later sneaked out of the office. That from that day he made up his mind never to have anything to do with him again. He added, I wish, you had told me it’s Bala you were rooting for but whatever you want I will assist you guys because I don’t say no to a brother but I assure you, you will regret your decision if Bala Mohammed becomes Governor. The rest is history.

He said to me let’s join them at the dining so that I can confront him with these issues for you to know that I am not making things up. We joined them at the dinning and Wike confronted Bala with these issues in the open and in our very presence. Bala admitted and pleaded for forgiveness assuring that he is now a changed man. The two Senators with me that day can confirm this to anyone who wants to establish the veracity of these narratives.

To cut the long story short, we passed the night at the Government house and the next morning Wike called and directed that his cash assistance be handed over to me to pass to Bala. I said, your Excellency, it’s better I call him so that he can collect the assistance himself least he thinks you are still angry with him. I sent for Bala and when he came Wike’s aide handed over the package to him and he collected it while almost kissing the ground. Wike therefore gave us the lifeline we needed to kick start Bala’s campaigns. If Bala has forgotten how much we left with that day, I will remind him. Wike didn’t stopped there, he gave us a private jet to ferry us back to Abuja. And I must add that was not the only time Wike helped Bala with resources and logistics. What is baffling is that the so called transactional Wike did not demand for anything in return nor place any condition for all that he did. Believe me this is not the end of the story but let’s leave it here.

With all these, my question to Bala is what happens to the golden adage that you don’t attempt to break the calabash from which you once sucked honey? For Bala, power is a poison and anyone who questions how he wields it, for that reason, is an eternal heretic that must be crushed at all cost.

Every sane person knows that true freedom doesn’t insist on expressing itself to the harm of others especially those that stood by you in your time of desperate need. For it is not in vain that they say, “a friend in need is a friend indeed”. Unfortunately, for those of us who know Bala too well, there is no room for debate about whether he is a rogue or mere scoundrel, as much as there is no debate about his moral bankruptcy, rooted in a contempt for truth. His mental pathology reveals a man that harbours grand delusions to the extent that he would not recognize the truth, whether about his private or political life, if confronted by it in an identity parade. As someone who is false to his friends and neighbours, it is impossible for him to be true to the public. Between Wike and Bala, Bala should be told in unequivocal terms that it is better to be hated for what you are than to be loved for what you are not. It is obvious that Bala is not near anything that he is projecting to the public.

When Wike was his benefactor, he said he knew Wike had done better than him and referred to him as, “ someone who is courageous, focused and determined, a person qualified and competent to help salvage Nigeria”. His words not mine. Now that Wike cuts off the benefits, he is a dead wood, former friend and a “transactional politician”. As a known wimp, he believes that Wike is now on the robs and he is punching so hard so that he can appropriate the glory from whatever pyrrhic victory that may ensue. Is it not ludicrous for someone who is mostly disliked for no reason other than he is shady, to call someone transactional? Time will not permit me to list those Bala has betrayed which includes his known godfather and our father, Baba Waziri, Alhaji Bello Kirfi, Elder statesman and former minister under President Shehu Shagari in the second republic.

Bala represents everything but decency which I said before that I doubted he will ever have. Those who thought I was too harsh including an ally of Wike who pleaded with me not to talk about Bala again are increasingly noticing this. I am sure they are now convinced that we cannot continue to run a therapy session for a troubled pyromaniac nay reptilian brat like this who consistently seeks to elevate himself by putting others down and who inhales rather than think before he talks. After all, it was saint John Chrysostom who said, “we must not mind insulting men, if by respecting them we offend God”.

PoliticsTension In Gov. Fubara's Camp As Rivers Attorney-general Contemplates Resignatio by Freshwhyte(op): 8:40pm On Oct 27, 2024
The last has not been heard of the fast-paced political drama happening in Rivers State. The latest being talks of the soon to break resignation of Barr. Dagogo Iboroma, SAN as Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice.

The Attorney-General who has been against the plan to run a tarnishing media campaign against the Judiciary was said to have strongly advised the Governor against going ahead with it. He maintained that it would not be profitable to the Governor and could have a long-term effect against him as a legal practitioner.

Following the campaign against the Judiciary by members of his group, the Attorney-General is said to have finally caved under pressure from his friends and colleagues and has eventually agreed to seek his exit from the Fubara administration.

Another key event that is said to have triggered the Attorney General to reach his decision was Governor Fubara's open disparaging of all Judgments against him during the opening of the 2024/2025 legal year.

A reliable source who is conversant with the development hinted that the Commissioner for Justice told Governor Fubara that attacking judges and the judiciary was not part of the bargain while he was being drafted in.

Presently frantic effort is being made by key members of the Fubara administration to convince the Attorney-General against proceeding with the resignation, he mentioned to them that they are politicians that would move on with their lives, but he is a lawyer that is stuck with the legal profession.

It is believed that Iboroma's resignation would send a telling signal to their supporters that all is not well, and could be fatal to the administration of Governor Siminalayi Fubara vis-à-vis his aim of being victorious in the political battles he is currently engrossed in.
PoliticsRivers Assembly Tussle: Gov. Fubara Perfects Plans To Stage Protest by Freshwhyte(op): 5:36pm On Oct 26, 2024
There is a growing concern within the camp of Governor Siminalayi Fubara that the series of losses recorded in the ongoing litigation are clear signs that the government is gradually coming to an end.

Rivers Watch reliably gathered that the governor's camp are preparing to stage multiple protests to cry wolf. They have been warned by their lawyers that they have bad cases at different levels of the court, and they cannot win the final battle.

We have it on good authority that the first thing they plan to do to water the ground for the protest is to launch a massive campaign of calumny against the judiciary. This we learned is aimed at justifying the planned protest.

Governor Fubara and some key members of his kitchen cabinet allegedly met with some media executives and publishers at the government house, Port Harcourt recently to perfect the plan to paint it like the judiciary is against the governor and his administration.

Over $500,000 has been earmarked for that purpose. Some selected media houses and public affairs analysts have been commissioned to carry out the attack on the judiciary.

We were also informed that there will be a lot of newspaper publications from pseudo groups condemning the judiciary as part of the multidimensional campaign.

Every judge handling any case involving the political crisis in Rivers State has been penciled down as a target. Even the Chief Justice of Nigeria and justices of the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal will not be spared in the smear campaign.

In the coming weeks, all these will unfold to herald their protest all in a bid to whip up sentiments to gain public sympathy, we gathered.

Recall that on October 30, 2023, Rivers State House of Assembly led by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Martin Amaewhule removed Edison Ehie as Leader of the House, suspended him and three others following the burning of the hallowed chamber of the assembly.

Moments later, Edison Ehie declared himself the Speaker. Governor Fubara went on to present the 2024 appropriation bill to him and three other suspended lawmakers.

An action that Justice Omotoso of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja nullified in its entirety, and declared that Mr. Ehie was never elected speaker of the house, in his ruling in January 2024.

Instead of obeying the ruling, Governor Fubara chose to appoint Oko Jumbo as speaker with two others as members of the assembly.

On two separate occasions, the Court of Appeal has ruled that Rt. Hon. Martin Amaewhule is the authentic Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly. One was the squashing of the ex parte order granted by Justice Wali of the Rivers State High Court that Oko Jumbo relied on, for lacking jurisdiction, the other was the affirming of the judgment of Justice Omotoso of the Federal High Court.

PoliticsRivers Ijaw Group Criticises INC President Over Wike, Fubara Feud by Freshwhyte(op): 10:42am On Oct 24, 2024
The Rivers Ijaw People’s Congress (RIPCO) has publicly expressed disappointment and concern over the actions of Professor Benjamin Okaba, President of the Ijaw National Congress (INC), regarding the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State.

The organisation’s leaders, Senator George Thompson Sekibo, Director-General, Dr. Rowland Sekibo, and Secretary, Dr. Erastus Awortu, co-signed an open letter disputing Okaba’s claims that the Presidential peace accord favored Wike, yet Fubara fulfilled all conditions for peace within the agreement

According to the statement released by RIPCO, the organization said it had sent a delegation to the INC headquarters in June 2024, urging Okaba to intervene and broker peace between Governor Siminialayi Fubara and Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.

The delegation, comprising 200 Ijaw sons and daughters, was led by Senator George Thompson Sekibo.

During the meeting, Okaba acknowledged the need for intervention and committed to undertaking a peace mission in Rivers State. He promised to lead an INC delegation to meet with all factions involved and convene a roundtable discussion between Fubara and Wike.

However, RIPCO alleged that Okaba failed to follow through on his promises. Instead, he issued a public statement condemning Wike and praising Fubara, which RIPCO views as a betrayal of his neutral position and a miscarriage of justice.

“We cautioned that if the INC took sides, it could lead to open conflict within the Ijaw community.

“Okaba’s premature condemnation of one party and open support of another undermine the principles of justice and fairness that the Ijaw people have always upheld,” the statement reads.

The organisation emphasized that the Ijaw people have long been known for their impartiality and commitment to fairness in handling disputes, regardless of the individuals involved.

They insisted on its call for fairness and unity, urging stakeholders to disregard Okaba’s baseless claims and prioritize lasting peace in Rivers State.

“We expect Professor Okaba and the INC leadership to guide themselves as statesmen in their conduct and utterances to uphold the unity, peace, and cohesiveness of the Ijaw people wherever they are found, particularly in Rivers State,” they stated.

However, the INC had previously warned that the crisis poses a threat to Nigeria’s democracy. Other Ijaw groups have also distanced themselves from RIPCO’s actions, labeling them as self-serving maneuvers to curry favour with Minister Wike

PoliticsGovernor Fubara's Incessant Attacks On The Country's Sacred Institutions Are Dis by Freshwhyte(op): 11:00am On Oct 19, 2024
WIKE GENERATION NEXT PRESS STATEMENT

GOVERNOR FUBARA'S INCESSANT ATTACKS ON THE COUNTRY'S SACRED INSTITUTIONS ARE DISTASTEFUL AND APPALLING

We deplore the unguarded remarks made by His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, the Executive Governor of Rivers State about some critical and revered institutions of our country, Nigeria, simply because their decisions did not suit his selfish interests.

A fortnight ago, Governor Fubara spouted all sorts of vituperative utterances against the Nigerian Police, the Inspector General, and Justice Peter Lifu of the Federal High Court, calling his ruling, fraudulent.

Surprisingly, yesterday the governor, again described the landmark ruling which upheld the verdict of Justice Omotoso as "bought judgment."

He accused the Court of Appeal of turning the law upside down to please "their pay masters."

It is regrettably unfortunate that our governor is now exhibiting disturbing signs of intellectual disability. At this point, we are genuinely concerned about his mental health, and we advise him to tread carefully for his well-being.

We wish to remind Governor Fubara and his co-travelers that the law is no respecter of anyone, and the rule of law must be enshrined and upheld in Rivers State, irrespective of emotions.

It is incongruous that Governor Fubara stood in front of members of the bench and bar of Rivers State Judiciary to cast aspersions on our legal system, and in the same breath told them that their job is to defend him.

No, sir, their primary job is to dispense justice without fear or favour. Resorting to blackmail and gaslighting will not save you.

Governor Fubara wants the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to be suspended before he can function properly. That is absurd and alien to democratic practices anywhere in the world.

His penchant for disobeying judgments of courts of competent jurisdiction made the justices of the Court of Appeal to say "The posture of the Appellant, the Governor of Rivers State to the effect saying" I do not like the Order made, and I will not obey it" has to be condemned in the strongest term if we are not to say goodbye to democracy predicated on the Rule of Law not Rule of might.

In the landmark judgment, the Court of Appeal ruled that “The Legislature represents the fulcrum of democracy, which must be jealously protected and guarded.”

"It therefore implies that by encouraging four members of Rivers State House of Assembly out of thirty-two to constitute the basis for legislative activities, the appellant, the Governor of Rivers State, was operating with 12.5% of the entity constituting Rivers State.”

Despite this glaring reality, Governor Fubara still wants both the legislature and the judiciary to operate from his bedroom in government house, according to his whim and fancies, as if we are living in a banana republic.

With all due respect for the office of the governor, we regret to state that Fubara's assertion that, it is only the state high court that can entertain matters emanating from the current political crisis rocking the state is a display of deliberately fostered ignorance.

In conclusion, We commend the Judiciary for its steadfastness and strong resolve in the face of unwarranted attacks, to uphold the rule of law as it relates to the scenarios in Rivers State.

PoliticsGeneral' Asabuja Cries Out From Hiding, Accuses Gov. Fubara Of Abandonment by Freshwhyte(op): 9:57pm On Jun 28, 2024
'GENERAL' ASABUJA CRIES OUT FROM HIDING, ACCUSES GOV. FUBARA OF ABANDONMENT

Ex MEND commander, Gabriel Asabuja has accused Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara of abandoning him in the face of being declared wanted by the Nigerian Police.

This is coming on the heels of the interview granted by the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Tunji Disu wherein he confirmed that the pro Fubara ex militant leader has been declared wanted for failure to honour police invitation.

A top lieutenant of the militant who is currently at large hinted that Asabuja is not happy with Fubara. He said instead of the governor paying him his balance for the June 18 operation, he is asking him to return the arms that were given to him.

General Asabuja said Governor Fubara assured him and even said it on national TV that the police would have to get through him to arrest any of his supporters, but he maintained cold silence when he was declared wanted.

Recall that in recent times, Asabuja had been brandishing arms and declaring support for Siminalayi Fubara in several videos clips on social media.

According to BBC Pidgin, Gabriel 'General' Asabuja was the Head of Operations in the defunct Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta (MEND), he is presently the second in command to Asari Dokubo.

Asabuja is demanding a balance of one hundred million naira and a smooth channel to leave the country for the meantime or a political means to let him off the hook.

There is growing fear in Rivers State that Asabuja's boys will unleash mayhem on the state if their general is eventually arrested by the police.
