CareerRe: Why Dangote Sacked Refinery Staff - FIJ by frog12:
na real unpatriotic behaviour.
NASS should look at it but they are busy receiving bribes

but the man should come clean if na INDIANS really get interest for the refinery after the support nigeria government give am. sad sad

Lakeside247:
Nigerians are gullible illiterates.

Dangote is playing a game that will hurt every Nigerian but poverty and naivety makes some regard him as their saviour.

How can you delegate your people for Indians? Pay them peanuts despite the unhealthy working condition in the refinery.
CareerRe: Why Dangote Sacked Refinery Staff - FIJ by frog12: 11:31pm On Oct 02, 2025
Go saudi. They pay too much.

TheBizGenius:
Is it that everyone here is blind and only @kanixt get eyes ni?

1. The report says the staff has been complaining about the salary for Years. Abeg, when dangote refinery start?!

2. The staff complained about taxes. Is it dangote that chops the taxes ni?

3. And the disparity between salaries of Nigerian engineers and expatriates? You are paid N500k/month and the white guys are paid $26k (N39million/month)? And you do the same job with the same standards?

Who here on nairaland would pay N39million for a job when he can get another equally competent person for N500k?

Now, imagine you are paying that difference, N38.5m, every month for the rest of your business life. Just because the person na oyinbo.

And this make sense to you guys? How?
CareerRe: Why Dangote Sacked Refinery Staff - FIJ by frog12: 11:28pm On Oct 02, 2025

The man should come clean. I dey suspect the same.
If na true, na big betrayal and a big security risk.

flokii:
Don't mind the Ignoramuses.. their crowd mentality won't allow them use their God-given brain to think.

Indians are gradually taking over the petrochemical sector in Nigeria and are kicking Nigerians out of the sector.. it started with sale of Eleme Petrochemicals to Indorama, since then, they have been taking miles. I won't be surprised if it is later revealed that Indians have high stake in the Dangote refinery.
The implication of the inaction of the Nigerian Government is that foreigners will be ones making critical decisions on Nigeria's key economic sector (what will never happen in India or China).
Nigerian companies that rely on raw materials sourced from petrochemicals will now be at the mercy of Indians before they can get locally sourced petrochemical raw materials in Nigeria. Just imagine the disgrace..

It's a pity we have people without knowledge at the helm of affairs.
CareerRe: Why Dangote Sacked Refinery Staff - FIJ by frog12: 8:45pm On Oct 02, 2025
The engineer claimed that expatriate workers, some with little experience, were treated better than Nigerian staff. “We are the ones who train them when they arrive, but after a while they are made our bosses,” he said
very unpatriotic. nigeria provides for everything then you dump nigerian workers for indians
PoliticsRe: How Whatsapp Group Led To Sacking Of Workers At Dangote Refinery – Sources by frog12: 4:58pm On Oct 02, 2025

Eraddray:
And someone believe this bullshit... angry angry if u believe this... U can believe any rubbish people tell u... ..Dangote has issues with pengassan...nupeng... marketer... independent markerters...nnpc ... And u think everything is alright with Dangote...

U staff have freedom to join union that defend their interest.. and also ur drivers too..
Failure to allow them join means everything is wrong with that system...

PoliticsRe: PENGASSAN To Call Off Strike as Dangote Redeploys Sacked Workers by frog12: 12:04pm On Oct 01, 2025
they have to go to Industrial court grin grin
illegal scheming.

ADAMUdaCOWBOY:
Point is Dangote didn't want unionism in his refinery and he won. You are too slow to get it. If Dangote chooses to sack them tomorrow, PENGASSAN will not even be in any position to fight for them as they are no longer oil company workers.
PoliticsRe: PENGASSAN To Call Off Strike as Dangote Redeploys Sacked Workers by frog12: 11:52am On Oct 01, 2025
wetin dem complain about ?

Anfieldboss:
I still don't believe....I have former colleagues that worked there, they have all left. Nobody I know worked in Dangote Refinery that spoke well of the place, unless THINGS HAVE CHANGED THERE OVERNIGHT, which I seriously doubt. Indians I know don't treat their employees well.
PoliticsRe: PENGASSAN To Call Off Strike as Dangote Redeploys Sacked Workers by frog12: 11:50am On Oct 01, 2025
na soo oo. honestly, we are beginning to see the true behaviour grin

franugo:
Seems like a way for both parties to save face, although it does favour dangote more. No staff in the refinery will now dare to join pengassan with the fear of redeployment, most likely to a less enviable environment and dangote can quietly lay off the concerned staff at a future date, if he wishes to do so, without much uproar.
PoliticsRe: PENGASSAN To Call Off Strike as Dangote Redeploys Sacked Workers by frog12: 11:49am On Oct 01, 2025
Dangote can not sack them again grin grin
PENGASSAN has won.

mikeapollo:
Some of the workers would still be called back to the refinery. But they will NEVER join PENGASSAN/NUPENG again with this experience. Unless the worker is a fool.
So Dangote has won.
PoliticsRe: PENGASSAN To Call Off Strike as Dangote Redeploys Sacked Workers by frog12: 11:47am On Oct 01, 2025
they did not fail.
Dangote refinery is rehiring the sacked workers.
but i think it's a plan to sack them later when things die down shocked shocked

MuchAdo:
I mean the Unions have failed...
PoliticsRe: PENGASSAN To Call Off Strike as Dangote Redeploys Sacked Workers by frog12: 11:46am On Oct 01, 2025
you dont understand. The Indians are benefitting so they will not complain.

the history behind the behaviour is the British when they colonise Africans, they bring Indian labourers to work on the plantations because the British hated the locals.
That's the behavior you are seeing. There is nothing wrong if you employ few expatriates, but when you bring thousands of them to replace sacked Nigerians, it means you no mean well for Nigeria.

emirate9:
Are the indians or chinese complaining Dangote is colonizing or enslaving them ... remember they enter plane come naija by themselves

Indians, Chinese and Lebanese continue to ride roughshod on Nigerians.
PoliticsRe: PENGASSAN To Call Off Strike as Dangote Redeploys Sacked Workers by frog12: 11:00am On Oct 01, 2025
unions are there for a reason. to prevent slave labour.
this man does not trust nigerians, so he employ Indians. that's colonial behaviour

MuchAdo:
We don't care!

So far there are NO unions in Dangote refinery cheesy

PENGASSAN can go to hell. It's game over for them. No union can hold Nigeria hostage anymore cool
PoliticsRe: PENGASSAN To Call Off Strike as Dangote Redeploys Sacked Workers by frog12: 10:44am On Oct 01, 2025
I think he go sack dem in a year small by small.
Na Indian dey run the company, na illegal schemes dem dey use all the time

Good moves by both parties and i believe Dangote will keep to the agreement reached. Don K

don't mind that person. in your own country, you sack Nigerians, and give their jobs to Indians. shocked shocked shocked
Tufiakwa !
Na unpatriotic person go do that. So hatredness for Nigerians go that deep? shocked shocked

fitinwell:
Nigerians can be easily cornered... No wonder a political strategist can generate lies to Nigeria by hand picking anyone even an ex convict.. or with nepa result to rule us...

Indians are taking over our jobs... And all u say is that Dangote is smart here... Wait until your child grow up... By then you will understand..

as long as he has Indians there, you will see all sorts of illegal schemes.

i don say my own. nigeria jobs are for nigerians. not indians.

princepee:
on top of another man's businesshuh
Nnpcl and pengasn should build refinery and employ only Nigerians, you don't expect dangote to employ those who will sabotage his refinery.
Look the man resigned from sugar and cement to face the cabals in oil industry....
Anyone wey do anyhow go collect
