Business › Re: I Want To Go Into Keke Napep Business, Please I Need Some Guidelines by frrank(m): 7:25pm On Dec 16, 2015 |
Ymodulus: This business is an interesting one I must confess. However to go into it there are 3 principles which must be settled.
1. Location 2. Method of Remmitance 3. New or second Hand Keke
1. New or second Hand Keke. Which is best ? I will advice you that if you want to go into the keke Napep business please get second Hand Keke Napeps not New one. Believe me it's best to buy something new good. But getting a good second Hand Keke Napeps is around 110 - 140k and the person will pay you double.
In Lagos you can easily make your money in 2 months 1week ( exact time frame my friend used to get hers back ).
There are good keke Napeps second hands. Once more go for good second hand and not new ones. Many may decieve you that new are best, yes they are good am not disputing this. But me and you need sharp good fast money then second hand is the way.
2. Method of Remittance The period of complete returns on a keke depends on two things : 1. the status of the Keke at time of purchase ( I.e New or second hand ) 2. Does your driver work on Saturdays and Sundays ? ( Some people set any return from those days mostly Sunday as maintenance money. Some don't ) 3. Agreed fee of return by driver.
There are generally two ways of paying a keke Driver. 1. Hire purchase 2. Daily Balance
I believe the two need no explanation just little extra tips. I will never advice you to give your keke napep based on returns of Daily Balance. It's a No no. So help you whatever you believe in.
In transportation business drivers can be A pain in the house, don't even trust your brother and Lagos for that reason my brother you have to be wary. Hire purchase is the best. In the North , Higher Purchase is what is mostly done and in the South East mostly daily Balance.
Daily return vary according to 1. Your state or Location 2. Status of Keke Napepe ( new or old )
In Niger , Katsina for example daily returns are N2000 and N3000 respectively for a new keke napep. And for second hand it is based on negotiation. But in Niger it is roughly N1500-1700/1800.
Note all the price can be subject to negotiation. However am giving you standard normal price.
In Lagos it is N4000 - N4500 ( for those plying Computer Village route ). Note don't let anyone decieve you for the poster know what he his saying.
Now on the amount to return. There are two ways of paying back Hire Purchase.
1. Negotiated ( you and driver agrees that you bought keke marwa for say N400 and he will pay N700 ) 2. Standard ( pay x2 the price. Takes place mostly in North and for second hand marwa ).
Note: payment on hire purchase is all based on negotiations.
3. Brand of Keke Napep to Buy I can only speak for Kaduna, Kano, Kastina and Niger. TVS keke Napep is the best type, the parts are readily available and cheap. Also cost efficient.
4. Import a New Keke or Buy Here in Nigeria
If you have the know how to import, I will advice you import keke Napeps. Keke napeps are produced in India. But you can get from china wholesalers wholesalers.
Keke Napeps spare parts are produced by Chinese and are more cheaper. Most importers import the spare part from china. In fact All keke spare parts are Chinese, Chinese sell the clone cheap better than India.
22Keke Napep will make 1 20ft Container. It cost approximately 98k to bring in on the average per one ( tax and government expenses + custom clearance + cost of getting form m and all).
Note: there are cheaper ways to bring in keke napep far way cheaper than what Nigerian wholesalers sell.
I can show you ways to bring in keke napeps at flat rate of 35k per piece. It's possible. Everything is legal.
The keke business is a sweet business if you know your way and I advice students to run this type of business.
Below is a second hand keke Napep I got some time back.
www.nairaland.com/attachments/2856999_img20150914160740_jpegbe925ea15476351e01868bfe12064ff1
5. Cost of New Keke Napep 1. TVS ( N420,000 ) ** I imported this myself 11pcs but I got it way cheaper and sold back at N375k there around . if you know custom you know your way ** 2. Michindra (435,000) as at Last Month November
Note! The above price is obtainable in Niger, Kaduna Kano wholesalers.
In Lagos, TVS is now 440K, Azubike Tricycles ( he sight dollar rate as reason for hike.)
5. Cost of Second Hand Keke Napep You can get good grade 1 brand at N140,000 or N150,000. But the general rate is N110-150,000 ( For good ones in good conditions ).

But it's faculty of science. The management are not organized, planning is very poor. They don't follow academic calendar else they wouldn't be running a programme as if they're just doing a simulation. I'm saying this because I did my degree programmes in two different institions and I'd gladly recommend those schools to anyone. I choosed Uniuyo because of proximity to my workplace. fratermathy: Hello Nairalanders!
Beyond the top five, there are other schools with COMMENDABLE and QUALITY Postgraduate Programs. I'll briefly highlight some of them. - University of Uyo: This school is largely UNDERRATED in terms of quality Postgraduate programs. The school has one of the best research orientation in the country. Students are tasked academically and nothing comes easy. This affects the quality of graduates because only sound graduates are churned out. The duration, however, is not quite fluid. The programs require a minimum of 4 Semesters (2 years average) while the cost of living and tuition can be pegged at NGN150,000. However, the staff strength is slightly commendable. Professorial strength can be pegged at 5 per department on the average. In terms of infrastructure, this school has very few to boast of. Maintenance culture is very high and the lecturers are mainly Ibadan and Calabar trained with a few percentage internally trained. https://www.uniuyo.edu.ng/images/dev.jpg
Feel free to add yours with reasoned arguments as I have done. Please kindly remove UNIVERSITY OF UYO from that list. Some dept just graduated their 2011 postgraduate students two weeks back. For those of us in 2012 session, we are yet to know our fate. |

Career › Re: Workers To Access 25% Pension Savings For Mortgage …to Forfeit Lump Sum Payment by frrank(m): 1:49pm On Aug 30, 2015 |
balo: Personally, I have never liked the modus operandi of this PFA of a thing. You prolly start working in your mid 20s and you have to wait till 65 before you can get the money that was continuously deducted from your salary, and I seriously doubt this lump sum I am reading here cos none of the PFAs promised to pay lump sum, just some peanuts monthly that will be paid to you after retirement to keep body and soul together.
I remembered asking some of the PFAs that came to my work place to give presentation on why they should be chosen as the preferred PFA: "How am I sure that you people will still exist by the time I am 65" and what if I retire way before 65, which is very likely for people in the private sector? They were all just mumbling words.
A preffered way will be to be able to access 75% of your contribution every 3 years... That is the only way I will believe this thing is for real.
There is a thread on the FP some time ago about how next of kin were finding it difficult to get the payment once the beneficiary is late. I am yet to see anyone that has been paid by these PFAs after retiring let alone the next of kin.
For now, I just see this Pension Fund of a thing as a way of taking money from the masses for all this pen robbers to continue living their ostentatious lives.
The whole Pension Fund thing needs to be seriously reviewed. Please don't be naive. Google PENCOM site and read about pension reform act PRA. A retiree can request for his lump sum when he/she attains the age of 50 yrs after retirement. After getting the lump sum, the retiree can also opt for Programmed withdrawal immediately if he/she so wishes. After some yrs(not really certain sha) the retiree can re-apply for another lump sum if his/her RSA bal is at least 3-4 m (not so sure abt the min amt but I remember seeing that) Then for the security of the money, the PFA is not allowed to have custody of the funds, it's the pension fund custodian PFC which are some banks that have the license to take custody of the money. So there's no way a PFA will run away with money they cannot even touch. Since the organizations pays the pensions funds deducted directly to the PFC and only notify the PFA. That's the little I can say. Pls refer to PenCom site for more details. |
Career › Re: Workers To Access 25% Pension Savings For Mortgage …to Forfeit Lump Sum Payment by frrank(m): 1:30pm On Aug 30, 2015 |
DahtzFestjayz: Explain further! If you have up to 6m in your RSA and you've worked for min of 10yrs, then you are entitle to 25 percent, which will be appr 1.5M depending on your RSA bal that is if your organization has been remitting your pension consistently for the said period (10yrs). Now, most people use their lumpsum to build a house(shelter) then open a biz. If you've gotten/acquired a house before your retirement what's left? Pension money primarily is meant to sustain a retiree so that is why the remaining will be used for programmed monthly withdrawal for the retiree's upkeep not for investment . My own opinion. |

Kingbilo: I was asked this question once or twice .. And what I always say is,
" I'm not one to make quick/rash decisions because somebody says so. I would rather do it right the first time. Maybe my slow methodical nature might be frowned upon for a moment but mistakes last much longer and usually have more severe effects."
And that's the truth.. In the long run. Diligence is always remembered and rewarded over speed. I'm saying this not just for what you should answer in your interview but for what you should do in real life too.
I'll give you a practical example. I had an assessment for training at my workplace. It was dealing with highly sensitive and expensive equipment. My instructor was trying to rush me because he wanted us to finish before 12pm and there were several ppl after me.. I simply looked him and asked him if he wanted this done right.. He cannot say no to that.. He kept quiet and i took my time and did all the steps correctly. The next guy after me came and the instructor tried to rush him.. The guy started rushing and made several silly mistakes. The instructor started shouting and was pissed. The instructor was like "why can't you take your time and do it like @kingbilo"
That my friend is how it works in the workplace.. If you carry someone else's pressure on your head, you carry the risk also |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Nestle!!!...why This????...sad!!! by frrank(m): 6:38pm On Jun 13, 2015 |
RileyFreeman1: I am sad and unhappy about how a specific Nestle recruitment campaign was handled by Nestle Nigeria. I feel even worse because research have shown that other people have experienced the same treatment. Some have experienced even worse.
I know there are Nestle employees here on Nairaland, so it will do me great joy if someone explains this situation and why Nestle does this.
I applied for an opening late last year with Nestle, luckily for me, I got invited for a Dragnet test which I gladly attended. Fortunately for me, I passed the Dragnet Test. About a week after receiving a Dragnet success email, I received another invite from Nestle to attend a function based test which I did. Few weeks later, I received another email that I was successful at the Function test.
About 2 weeks later, I received an interview invite mail and call, I was happy at the speed and professionalism of the entire process because I knew no one working with Nestle and I was convinced that the entire process had been outstandingly meritocratic. I attended the Nestle interview, very few people were present for the interview. I did my very best at the interview and as God will have it, about two weeks later I received a follow up email that I was successful at the interview. I was very happy because Nestle is a company I have utmost respect for and building my career with such a company was a dream come through.
This is June the 12th, 2015, Its been about 5 months since I received the last interview success mail. I was concerned so I networked with some Nestle staff via LinkedIn.com. To my surprise, I was told some people did medicals and resumed about 3 months ago for the same opening. I was also made to believe that 95% of these people previously worked with Nestle as contract staff, now they have been made full time staff.
I initially felt bad but I also know about other interviewed candidates who received regret mails from Nestle after the interview where I received success mail.
It will be very much appreciated if someone from Nestle explains why this is happening.
Why have I been left in the dark by Nestle?
Why no follow up email has been sent since over 5 months?
What exactly is going on?
Do I still remain positive about being contacted by Nestle?
If possible, Nestle Nigeria HR should look into this because it seems like a very unfair treatment. A follow up correspondence to candidates who will work with you in the future will really ease a lot of tension. It also shows top class professionalism on your part as a company. Access did this to my cousin, i adviced him to go to their head office and lay a complain. He did and was called in less than a week to come back to the head office for documentation. Could be an oversight. Could be anything. It's better to hear from the horses mouth, than to assume based on what the company staff has told you. I think if you were really serious and you wanted the job, you wouldn't have allowed this issue to linger for long. |
