Even before doing a cursory check I knew your information is wrong. The reason being that no human being can survive on a $20/month minmum wage anywhere in the world! Not to talk of a developed country. If you think things are expensive, go to europe and see how much people pay for basic items. That being said, I did a cursory check and I found that the average minimum wage in Denmark is $18/hour. This means that if you work for 8hrs/day and 28 days/month, you will receive $576. 100K is less than $280. It should even be a starting point for us. Consequently, this "pumped-in" cash stays within our economy as opposed to politicians taking our money out to grow another economy. Moreover, if you put "things" in place without proper incentivization and remuneration, you won't sustain those things. If increasing the money for the common Nigerian is hard to conceive, lets begin to discuss ways in which we can make the rich part with their money and subsize the poor. Awolowo86: |
Thanks for that response. Peter Obi being presented as a man of character is not good for the future of Nigeria (with due respect). Reason is this: What can Anambra State boast of in terms of real development for her people? Pipe-borne water? Electricity? Good roads (not only major roads but connecting roads, those in rural communities)? Subsidized health care? Low cost housing? Tourism? How did that economic policy transform the lives of common and senior citizens in Anambra? Yes, he may be frugal but did he loot? (If the answer is 'yes' or 'everybody loots', that's not who we want). Osinbajo too has some achievements under Buhari but it is not enough to consider them also. Don't let them fool us with sentiments the same way they re-packaged Buhari as Mr. integrity. If Buhari did not win in 2015, we would have thought he was the best president we never had. But truthfully, his propositions then were ridiculous for all to see (e.g. the exchange rate issue) providing no clear-cut execution plan. Conversely, Sowore has provided the execution plan repeatedly at radio and tv stations across Nigeria. They are out there for you to interrogate and he periodically provides a live session for people to ask questions on Youtube. Simply put, if in doubt of his agenda, engage him! manny4life: |
At this point, we should worry less about how AAC is going to protect their votes on that day. I hear you and the issue you have raised is valid. Coming together has several implications: There will be serious compromises within that coalition and this may defeat the initial intent of the AAC party. As you can image, the coalition will still comprise these greedy people. Taking power and not being able to make some strategic decisions simply because you have an agreement/commitment may not be that smart after all. However, I understand that there could be reasonable compromises also. We need someone to take this country from the past leaders and really set it on the path of greatness. With all due respect to other younger candidates, Sowore is the only one who has generated campaign funds publicly and transparently. No one knows how Moghalu, Oby and Durotoye are being funded. I'm sure you know what that implies. With regards to jingles and rural reach, I think Sowore has done his possible best to sensitize the youths. If he does not win, it's because we are not yet ready for a new Nigeria. Nevertheless he has traveled a lot but couldn't physically cover all locations across the country. If we mean business, we the youths can do the rest for him. This is what is currently lacking -- 100% support from the youths that he is fighting for. Even some of our celebs behave as if they are not affected by the current state of affairs. I mean if your loved one ( husband, wife, relative or someone close to you) died from herdsmen attack, boko haram, and other sorts of terrorist machinations, would you even endorse Buhari for anything again (seeing how his government has handled the issues? If you were from Yola, Adamawa state (where Atiku is from) knowing their poverty level with all his billions, would you even think of Atiku? These guys don't deserve anymore of Nigeria. All in all, it is an uphill task but a necessary one if we are to regain our dignity as a people. Sowore is the only way and I pray its not too late before some of us realize it. Leave the logistics to the AAC team and help as much as you can (I am doing that right now by writing on these issues, so that we the youths can move beyond superficiality of ideas and strive for better ideals for our country). humberjade: |

I am getting tired of leaving comments. What do you mean by structure? If those mega parties had structures, why do they rig elections? why do they send touts to beat people up at polling units? A structure is set to guarantee a systematic electioneering. What we have in Nigeria are outlets for bribing and intimidation (unless this is what you were referring to). I implore you to go on youtube and watch his conversations if reading about him is not convincing enough. If you are a practical person, then you will fully grasp what the man's mission & vision is and what drives him. Hopefully, he is included in the forthcoming presidential debate. humberjade: |
I beg to differ. Have you consciously thought about the economic policies that his alternatives (Atiku/Buhari) are proposing? Have they given you a platform to interrogate their plans to take the country to greater heights? What ideas are they proposing that resonate with you? Shouldn't we be cautious when considering (Atiku/Buhari) who have both been in government? and yet, we are the poverty capital of the world with virtually no functional infrastructures and educational system. manny4life: |
I think Nigerian politics will demonstrate a shift from this practice by February 2019. Some people still genuinely believe that APC and PDP governments will be different when the same leaders are decamping from one to the other (even Atiku was formerly APC). Just vote for Sowore and know that you played your part. If Atiku or Buhari wins, it will be more of the same or worse. If Sowore wins, we can begin to hope again. Don't mind people who say Sowore is not going to win. Just do your part. It is wasteful to cast for Atiku or Buhari at this time. Best case scenario Sowore wins, worst-case Atiku/Buhari wins. If you will indulge me, I think these inflation theories are becoming stale. What do you say to Senators earning 13.5 m/month in allowances and Governors taking 200m (or more) on security votes? The thing is, money put in circulation through minimum wage stays in Nigeria. The ones the elected few are embezzling goes out of Nigeria for purchase of properties and all sorts. Do you know how many months it will take a University Professor to earn (in salary) what a Senator earns (in allowance, not salary) in a month? These discussions are being propagated by those currently benefiting from the disequilibrium. Whatever effects this will have on the economy remains a theory depending on several factors to hold. If we can afford to pay the politicians that much, then the logic follows that we can afford to pay the common workers who actually make this country work! How do we continue to pay the political class that much and refuse to improve the lives of common Nigerians on the basis of inflation? Ponder on this. Awolowo86: |
I'm sure you are aware of those surrounding Atiku in the name of restructuring and making Nigeria work again. Most are current and past leaders since 1999. Common! these guys have a lot of baggage. It is time for a clean-slate approach to truly building a country, starting from the fraudulent constitution. We have given the likes of Atiku chance to take this country to greater heights, instead all they give are excuses. Sowore has the guts to really challenge the status-quo and implement policies that benefit the masses. Look at it this way, if Atiku (or Buhari) has an idea that can truly take this country towards prosperity and this idea cannot be passed-on to younger and energetic candidates like Sowore and co. then that idea is useless. Sowore understands this and that's why he has refused to work under any of these governments. Also, voting Sowore as President disconnects us from our past leaders who have been reshuffling themselves since independence. If you have lived or been outside Nigeria to better countries you would agree that no one respects Nigerians. The core of this problem is caused by our leaders. For concreteness, in 2019 Nigeria is still debating 4500 MGW Electricity generation and distribution. and we are still fighting for basic necessities of life when countries are fostering innovative advents. We have the manpower, natural resources, and many field experts. What is missing is the right leadership. Atiku and Buhari cannot offer to Nigerians what they do not have. For anyone mentioning Atiku and Buhari, ask yourselves this: They've both been in government, what basic necessity of life (health care, clean water, good roads, electricity, shelter & security) have they successfully provided for their citizens? None! We should all support Sowore and take Nigeria on another path! We should be done with them by now. Oma307: |
The Townhall meeting was on Housing and nothing else. He is definitely digitally-minded. Recall, he proposed the 100K minimum wage as a living wage that is retained in Nigeria and not used to by properties outside the country the way the current political class are doing. Just watch some of his conversations and read his manifesto. Yankee101: |
And who would you suggest that this vibrant man works under? Atiku? Buhari? Oma307: |
Please try to read his manifesto and watch some of his conversations on youtube. It will become clear! chloride6: |
Doug07034780891:You would be generalising. Idi Amin was a tyrant and given the freedom to act, those in the pictures might not have knelt before him. |

If your app is using Mysql, just create a timestamp variable alongside the booking Information or in a new table. Also create a status variable for (Paid, unpaid) on the same database. Then poll the database for changes. Cheers! |
