ducks and turkeys are way stronger. at least, i've witnessed a mother duck chase a kite up in the air. first time i realized ducks can fly higher than chickens.

Have seen it severally, I don't even argue it. Ask around, eagles are always afraid of hen with chicks.

I've seen where an hen after an eagle took the chick, the hen flew and caught up with the eagle; the eagle didn't have choice than to drop the chick.

you mean kites and hawks, not eagles. if an eaglet would most probably choose the mother hen, not the chicks, coz it's bigger. eagles prey on monkeys, deers, goats, smaller wild cats, foxes, dogs, etc. eagles sometimes attack full-grown wolves. it would lift the wolf up and drop them just to hurt it or probably kill it so it can feed.

chickens in general can't kill snakes no matter how aggressive they are.

they don't have speed, techniques, the sharp beaks and claws of hawks and kites or the strength of an eagle. just one strike from a snake is more than enough to put a chicken to rest.

even humans...before you kill a snake you'll have to hit it several times in the head. in fact, you need to cut off the head with a machete to ensure it's dead. snakes don't die easily.

there's no way a chicken can kill a snake that big. if you say it was a hawk or a kite i'd understand. but not a mere chicken...a local one at that.

anyway, the effort spent in protecting her chicks paid off. i can see them peeping from their dead mom's wings. how i wish buhari is half as smart as this animal.
