are u a student of history or u are talking out of sentiments? it would have been difficult for the Igbo's to defeat the jihadists because they were not a united kingdom. they were largely made up of independent villages and clans which the jihadists would have taken piece by piece.

You are very very correct.

There was never a full scale British military invasion of Igbo land like that of the Benin empire. Igbo land was simply made up of small scattered villages and hamlets in densely thick rainforests.

And since every Igbo village was independent of each other. It took the British longer time to subdue all these villages. The British were not really serious with conquering Igbo land as it really had nothing of valuable interest, so it was done gradually.... Unlike Benin kingdom where the British wanted to loot away all the precious artifacts.
