Pennee gives business owners credit for purchasing inventory from suppliers and allows them to pay over time. Suppliers also benefit from being on Pennee; for instance, Camera Joints has made over 10 million Naira in sales since becoming a Pennee Vendor (watch the video here:

One of the best aspects is that your credit can increase, granting you access to more funds on Pennee with just your initial application. Here's a testimonial from a business owner who has utilized Pennee (watch the video here:

Health / Virginity Testing -what, Where And Methods Of Virginity Testing by funkeolotu(f): 7:25pm On Apr 30, 2020
Virginity testing is the examination of the sex organs of a person, usually a female. This is done to make sure that the girl child has not engaged in sexual intercourse and is ‘pure’.

Where is virginity testing practiced
Virginity testing is practiced around the world, particularly in parts of Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. It has also been found in Western countries like Canada, Spain, Sweden, and the Netherlands.

In October 2018, the world health Organization stated that virginity testing is a painful, humiliating and a traumatic practice that constitutes violence against women and must end.

Physicians have also spoken about the unreliability of virginity testing, but people continue to do this.

How virginity testing is carried out
The most common test for virginity testing is the presence of an intact hymen. It is widely believed that the hymen will break at first intercourse, causing bleeding.

Virginity testing is carried out in different ways around the world

Two-finger insertion where a person checks the tightness or looseness of the vagina by inserting their fingers inside it. But what a lot of them do not understand is the absence of hymen can be caused by other factors and some women lack hymen from birth, so this is not a reliable method to ‘check’ virginity.

Romance / 7 Lessons From My Past Relationships by funkeolotu(f): 7:01pm On Apr 30, 2020
In itemizing the lessons from my past relationships, I’ve learned different things from different people. Some might contradict each other and I apply different things to different people.

1. I learned to claim someone as a partner only when they want me as much.

2. There’s nothing wrong with situationships. I can like and enjoy a person without being official.

3. So I’ve learned to stay focused on the important things like schoolwork, money, and God especially when dating people that don’t take these things seriously.

Romance / How To Move On From The Right Person by funkeolotu(f): 11:21pm On Mar 14, 2019
Love is beautiful, peaceful and sometimes confusing. At least that is what it has been for me. However, what happens when things don’t go as we imagined? When you have done your best yet, certain events remain unresolvable? You move!

Moving on is a difficult thing to do, especially when a person is a good person.
I have been there. I got out of a relationship some months back, and it was one of the most challenging decisions I’ve taken in recent times.

It’s hard to let go of what you cherish, what you consider rare and perfect. The fantasies you’ve let build in your head and the future you have planned together.

Sometimes, you need to accept that love is not enough for a relationship to thrive; there is compatibility, patience, emotional maturity, understanding, and discipline to name a few.

When you start thinking of leaving your relationship, something is wrong, and you are not imagining or overthinking. We, women, are blessed with an intuition that sometimes gets lost in a sea of what if’s and maybes.

Moving on is hard but not impossible.

5 steps to moving on

Accept the reality and believe your reason is valid

Moving on is hard if the person was mistreating you, much more if everything was right and somethings you can’t change gets in the way.

Romance / How Men Can Prevent Pregnancy- Vasectomy. All You Need To Know by funkeolotu(f): 6:33pm On Aug 31, 2018
Vasectomy is rarely spoken about, Most times when we talk about birth control methods we focus on the women, a lot of people do not know that apart from condom there’s another way men can be in charge of preventing pregnancy. I read one of the most knowledgeable and very explanatory thread I’ve read on twitter about Vasectomy by Dr. Olufunmilayo, a Medical doctor on twitter that shares useful information about health on twitter.

Recently about a few days ago, I did a little poll here on my page to try to find out how much men know about Vasectomy and how many more are willing to have one done. And here attached are screenshots of the results.

Please have a look.

What do you think of those results?

For the sake of discussion, I’m going to assume all the voters were men.
Anyway, out of 506 men, 86% have heard of #Vasectomy before while 14% has not.
However out of 329 men, 52% were willing to have a vasectomy done, but up to 48% say they would not.

Wow.
This says a lot.

What is a Vasectomy?

A vasectomy (also called male sterilization or permanent male contraception) is a surgical procedure to cut or seal the tubes that carry a man’s sperm with the aim to permanently prevent pregnancy.

I must quickly add a caveat here tho.
While Vasectomy is regarded as a “permanent” form of male contraception and while some people refer to it as “male sterilization”, it is actually a reversible procedure.
So technically, as long as it is not tampered with, it is permanent.

Do I need to be admitted to a hospital to have a Vasectomy done and is it a major procedure?

No.
A vasectomy is not a major procedure at all.Being admitted to the hospital is not the norm as it is a simple procedure, the incisions are small, and the equipment needed is routine.

Read all the information here. Sure it will answer your questions

Family / Are Feminists Fake For Not Proposing To Their Partners? by funkeolotu(f): 8:32am On Jul 29, 2018
I was reading one of the most amazing Essay I’ve read that was authored by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie titled Dear Ijeawele, or a Feminist Manifesto in Fifteen suggestions. This book was a letter in response to a friend of Chimamanda who asked how to raise her daughter, Feminist. I learned so much from this book that I will be breaking down some lessons in upcoming blog posts, today’s focus is on marriage proposals.

Isn’t it odd that in most societies in the world today, women generally cannot propose marriage? Marriage is such a major step in your life, and yet you cannot take charge of it. It depends on a man asking you. So many women are in long-term relationships and want to get married but have to wait for the man to propose- and often this waiting becomes a performance, sometimes unconscious and sometimes not, of marriage worthiness. If we apply Feminism Tool here, it makes no sense that a woman who matters equally has to wait for somebody else to initiate what will be a major life change for her. – Dear Ijeawele, or a Feminist Manifesto in Fifteen suggestions.

This part of the book got me thinking deeply about what it is about; marriage proposals. My mind went back to the video of the lady that got rejected by a man at Shoprite in Lagos and was trending, I don’t know why I remembered but for some reason I did.

Crime / Discussing An Under-reported Torture To Girls – Breast Ironing by funkeolotu(f): 11:16am On Jun 08, 2018
I wish we didn’t live in a world where girls have to physically and psychologically abused to feel safe and still not be safe.

Breast Ironing/ flattening is self-explanatory really, it is the ironing or flattening of the girl child’s breast by pounding and massaging of a girl’s breasts, using hard or heated objects, to try to make them stop developing or disappear.

This barbaric act is mostly carried out by their mothers, aunties, sisters, grandmothers and even nurses.

They believe that this procedure is the best thing to do to their daughters(10-19 years old) make them look sexually unattractive to men to prevent rape (most men believe that when a girl has breasts she is ready for sex), early marriage and any form of sexual activity that can curse pregnancy which will tarnish the family’s image.

How breast ironing is carried out

There are several ways in which breast ironing is being carried out

Wrapping of the girls chest very tightly with an elastic band or umbilical belt for a very long period of time, this is very uncomfortable and painful, can even last up to a year
Heating tools like metal, sticks, heavy stone, pestles, spatulas, spoons, rocks, grinding stones

I am one of the girls you meet and do not mind throwing and using the word Vagina a lot, we talk about sex generally so we can as well talk about the Vagina thriving.

I’ve always been passionate about the vagina which is why my microbiology final year seminar was centred on the vagina and I learnt a lot during my research so I’m not just dropping points from my head.

A lot of conversations I’ve had about the vagina have made me conclude that a lot of women don’t know their Vagina.

Firstly, the Vagina is the passage inside your body, not the exterior part, that’s the vulva.

Here are the 3 things you must know To Get a Thriving Vagina
