In the Yauri Local Government Area of Kebbi State, two alleged rapists sexually assaulted a two-year-old girl.

The development was confirmed on Sunday by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC).

DSC, The state’s NSCDC Public Relations Officer (PRO), Akeem Adeyemi, stated that the Yauri local government area brought the case to the command.

“Yes, we have received a rape referral case of a two-year-old girl (name withheld), from our personnel in the Yauri local government area of the state.

“Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the rape but the investigation is ongoing, and will be carried out to its logical conclusion.

“That is only what I can say for now until the investigation is over,” Adeyemi said.

Also confirming the incident, the Coordinator of the National Human Rights Commission, Alhaji Hamza Wala, said the commission found out that an unnatural offense was committed against the two-year-old- girl child.

“There was a report by a Medical Doctor in the area, Dr. Bulus Godiya, the Chief Medical Officer in Yauri General Hospital, who confirmed that the girl was sodomized and had been transferred now to Kalgo Medical Centre for necessary treatment and medication.

“Not only our commission but other rights groups, such as Yauri Women Development Association, and Hisbah Committee, among others, are all involved in trying to see that justice is served on the suspects after the investigation is concluded,” he said.

Hajiya Fatima Musa-Bature, the Chairperson of the Yauri Woman Development Association (YWDA), also confirmed the incident, saying it happened on Wednesday, June 29.

Fatima noted that investigations would detail everything.

Speaking on the incident, the father of the victim, (name withheld) also confirmed what happened to his daughter.

”It happened to my daughter, but I can’t talk much on that now.”

The operatives of the Lagos State Police Command, have arrested a security guard, Samuel Maikasuw, who has been arrested over the alleged molestation and impregnation of his employer’s 15-year-old daughter in the Ikorodu area of the state.

20-year-old Maikasuw allegedly impregnated the teenage daughter of his employer, according to a civil society organisation that is familiar with the case, the Advocates for Children and Vulnerable Peoples Network.

The accused served as a gatekeeper at the house of one Fadiji who was a “surrogate parent” to the 15-year-old victim.

Maikasuw was said to have been caught in a compromising position with the minor last year but was warned against repeating such.

The ACVPN said, “The perpetrator who defiled and impregnated a 15 years old girl is Samuel Maikasuw 20yr old. He hails from Abaji in the FCT.

“He was a security man at Ms. Fadiji’s house. He was once caught with the minor last year and was severely warned never to come near the little girl again and he apologised.

“He was later transferred to the shop of the landlord’s wife who later converted him to a sales boy. He was arrested by the vigilantes and policemen in the Ikorodu area after the act. The suspect has been detained at Ikorodu division, Igbogbo.”

According to a report, the State Police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the arrest, noted that the crime was “defilement of a minor” which is punishable under the law.

He said, “It is confirmed. It is not just as simple as saying he impregnated someone. Under the law, it is defilement. He defiled a minor. The issue is still being investigated.”

Sex with an underage is punishable by law. So, if a man have sex with consent and impregnates a woman of age, it is assumed, and rightly so, that she understands the implication of having unprotected sex. She bears the consequences.

Question 2)
What punishment is given to irresponsible fathers and boyfriends who impregnate and deny?

Same thing as said earlier; a woman of age who consented to sex, unprotected sex for that matter before marriage, bears the consequences of her actions.

Question 3)
What punishment is given to rapists?

Now, this is a dumb question. Even children in elementary school can tell what punishment the law prescribes for rapists.

A thirty-five-year-old man identified as Chidi Uhuo, has been arrested for allegedly raping the daughter of his wife’s late sister (names withheld) at Okwuijorogwu in Delta State.

It was gathered that the 35-year-old accused had been having anal sex with the victim. A medical report showed the victim has a big hole in her virginia as a result of anal sex.

The suspect admitted that he has only raped the victim, a JSS two student, three times.

It was gathered that the suspect has been having carnal knowledge of the victim for the past three years.

Luck, however, ran out of him when he had carnal knowledge of the victim and threatened to kill her if she ever let his wife or anyone know of his deeds. He also threatened that he would no longer sponsor her education since her parents are dead.

The suspect has been detained at the Ebrumede Police Station in Uvwie Local Government Area of the state.

The Public Relations Officer of the Delta State branch of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights, CDHR, Comrade Kelvin Ejumudo, who disclosed this to the public on the CDHR WhatsApp platform, appreciated the proactive Divisional Police Officer, Ebrumede Division, CSP Iwok Ndifreke, for standing tall and ensuring the case was not compromised.

According to him, the cop has ordered the Investigating Police Officer, IPO, to as a matter of urgency charge the suspect to court first thing on Monday.

“We pray that such devilish individuals will not be seen anywhere near our environment and our children.”

Comrade Ejumudo also urged the Delta State Government through the Ministry of Women Affairs to take custody of the victim for counseling and rehabilitation, stressing that her parents are late and the aunt might not be happy with her because the husband will be taken to the correctional.
