An 84 years old man Stephen Jack has been arrested by police operatives in Ogun state for allegedly having unlawful carnal knowledge of an eight-year-old girl (name withheld).

A statement released by SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, says the suspect who resides in okun owa area of Ijebu Ode was arrested following a report lodged at Obalende divisional headquarters by the father of the victim, who reported that he discovered that his daughter was bleeding from her private part, and when he asked the little girl of the cause, she informed him that the suspect had defiled her.

”Upon the report, the DPO Obalende division, SP Murphy Salami detailed his detectives to the scene, where the randy old man was apprehended.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the old man is a known pedophile in the area. The victim has been taken to the General Hospital Ijebu Ode for medical treatment.” Oyeyemi said.

He added that the state Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, has directed that the suspect to be transferred to State Criminal Investigation Departments for more investigation and possible prosecution.

A 46 years old man, Olusegun Oluwole has been apprehended by men of Ogun state Police Command for allegedly forcefully having carnal knowledge of his 17 years old daughter (name withheld).

The suspect was arrested following a complaint lodged at Ibara police station by the victim, who came in the company of some so safe corps men and reported that while she was sleeping in their one-room apartment at Amolaso area of Abeokuta at about 11:30 pm, her father having observed that others are fast asleep suddenly grabbed her and forcefully had s€x with her with a threat to kill her if she refused to allow him. 

Upon the report, the DPO Ibara division, CSP Bernard Egbondiya, quickly detailed his detectives to the scene, where the suspect was promptly arrested.

On interrogation, the father of six, who confessed to the crime pleaded for forgiveness, claiming not knowing what came over him when he committed the crime. 

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole has ordered the transfer of the suspect to state Criminal investigation Departments for further investigation and possible prosecution, while the victim was taken to general hospital for medical treatment.

The Police Command Bauchi State has arrested two vigilantes suspected of raping a housewife at gunpoint in Dogon-ruwa village, Ningi Local Government area of the state.

The command also said it arrested another suspect who s3xually assaulted a 3-year-old girl in Jimbin village, Ganjuwa Local Government Area.

The Spokesman of the command, SP Ahmed Wakil confirmed the arrests in a statement issued to newsmen on Tuesday in Bauchi.

He said the Ningi Police Division was alerted by the husband of the woman of the incident.

Wakil said that the two suspects, Lawali Sule and Babangida Shehu, both members of the vigilance group in Dogon-ruwa village, were later arrested by detectives.

He said that the incident occurred on Aug. 25, at about 2 am, when the two suspects conspired among themselves and stormed the woman’s matrimonial home armed with Dane guns.

The spokesman alleged that the vigilantes asked of her husband, who was not at home at the time, threatened her with the guns and had carnal knowledge of her.

Wakil said that the victim was evacuated to General Hospital Ningi for medical examination, where it was confirmed that there was penetration.

He added that during an investigation, the suspects voluntarily confessed to the crime.

Wakil said that the two guns were recovered from the suspects as exhibits.

Meanwhile, the command has arrested one Mato Yohannah, 27, suspected of s3xually assaulting a 3-year-old girl in Jimbin village, Ganjuwa local government area.

According to Wakil, the suspect had confessed that it was the second time he raped a minor.

The command spokesman said that the three suspects would be prosecuted to ensure justice for the victims.

The Ogun state police command has arrested a 49-year-old man, Amoda Bola, for allegedly impregnating his 14-year-old daughter and forcing her into prostitution.

The suspect, a resident of Idi Oro street, Ode Remo, was arrested on August 17 following a complaint received from the victim. The teenager had reported at Ode Remo divisional headquarters that her father, with whom she has been living with for some years now, has been having carnal knowledge of her.

She stated further that her father has also been inviting men to the house to sleep with her, after which the men will pay him money.


Following the complaint, the suspect, Amoda Bola, was arrested at his residence.
On interrogation, the suspect, who first denied the allegations, later confessed when the victim confronted him. His confession led to the arrest of five others who had slept with the victim at different times on the invitation of the father.

The other suspects are: Ahmed Ogunkoya, 30yrs, Muyiwa Adeoye, 48yrs, David Sunday Solaja, 69yrs, Emmanuel Olusanya, 50yrs, and Joshua Olaniran, 50yrs.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said all the suspects have confessed to having carnal knowledge of the 14-year-old girl and have paid money to the father.

Oyeyemi said the victim, whose mother had separated from the father years back, said she was practically turned into a prostitute by her father.

“She has been taken to state hospital Isara Remo where it was confirmed that she is pregnant. The victim has insisted that it was her father who is responsible for the pregnancy been the only person who slept with her within the period she got pregnant.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to anti humans trafficking and child labour unit of the state Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation and possible prosecution.” Oyeymi said

An Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ibadan on Monday remanded a 20-year-old man, Musa Salimon, at the Agodi Correctional facility for allegedly raping his friend’s neighbour.

The police charged Musa with one count of rape.

The Magistrate, O. A. Enilolobo, who did not take the plea of the suspect due to lack of jurisdiction, ordered his remand at Agodi Correctional facility, Ibadan.

Enilolobo said that the remand is pending the outcome of the case file at the Oyo State Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP).

She, thereafter, adjourned the matter till Oct. 18, for mention.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Olusegun Adegboye, told the court that on Aug. 6, at about 4:00p.m at Oriyangi area, Ogbere, Ibadan, Salimon allegedly unlawfully had carnal knowledge of one T. Sunday, 18, without her consent.

Adegboye said the victim lent her cellphone charger to her neighbour to retrieve it later.

”When she went to pick the charger, a friend to the victim’s neighbour allegedly raped her,” he added.

He said the offence is contrary to Section 357 and punishable under section 358 of the Criminal Code laws of Oyo State, 2000.
