Are you more of a hustler than the Fulani who walks from Sokoto to PH with his cows facing hostile humans and beasts on the way? Leave that self indulgent Ibo tale for your village entertainment. Everyone hustles in the way that they have aptitude for. The fact of the matter is the greatest economic activity in Nigeria today more than oil or anything else is agriculture. That is an indisputable fact. Now what do Ibos contribute to agriculture in Nigeria? Instead you continue making empty boasts about how Onitsha market is the largest in the Milky Wayand the US Army buys drones there.
Once again Agriculture accounts for more than 70% of Nigerian economy .What is the Ibo contribution? Seems like you want to derail this thread... |

Fine, the minister made a blunder by announcing the defeat of BH too hurriedly, but then statement or no statement the attacks are bound to escalate. Attacks will be foiled and some will eventually happen. This idea of blaming the tragic incident all on someone just to make the govt look bad is just not helping matters. The authorities are trying their best to put a stop to these attacks and all some of us can do is to wait anxiously for the next attack and the next seconds, jump onto social media an start apportioning blame. Sometimes, i wonder if some of us dont ponder if our comments online is what motivates these devils to carry out more attacks. Innocent souls have been lost and the best we can do is to collectively condemn these acts and express our deepest sympathy to loved ones and relatives. Bullshyte! |

texazzpete: You call the South West 'South West' and yet your entire OP was an attempt to lecture others to rid themselves of 'hatred and envy'. Does your hypocrisy not stun you?
And yes, I stand my ground that the bulk of you are uneducated louts. Why else would you make the unfounded assumption that just because I have disdain for IPOB, I am from the SW? Were you not taught in school that Nigeria has hundreds of ethnic groups?
Thank you for point 3, clarifying that this is all about your annoyance about the Buhari victory. You may note that just because the South East has never been able to put forward a compelling, charismatic achiever as a Presidential candidate, it does not mean 'marginalization'. Why are you surprised that Nigerians care nothing for the likes of Uzor Kalu or Pius Anyim? Where is your fashola equivalent?
Is anyone persecuting Igbo in Lagos? Edo state? Abuja? Ekiti?
Rubbish The reasonable thing to do is to tear down the points I raised with hard facts... But as expected, you continue to dance round in circles. My phone spells 'Southwest' only... Sorry about that. I can't remember where I mentioned you're from the bitter Southwest. The struggle for Biafra started in 1967. There was no Goodluck Jonathan vs Buhari then. I wouldn't know where you got the idea that the agitations for Biafra is an offshoot of an electoral loss. |
Politics › Re: International Friendly - Catalunya vs Basque: Lessons For Anti-Biafra Nigerians by fx45(op): 7:11am On Dec 28, 2015 |
texazzpete: I mean, why should there be any envy and bitterness between two separatists regions with similar goals? Why is this being posted as an analogy for the Nigerian context?
That, in a nutshell, is why this makes no sense.
If the IPOB guys were peaceful individuals with logical motives, I doubt anyone would greet their agitation with derision. But for the following reasons
1) preaching violence and anarchy via radio biafra 2) insisting on roping in the emphatically unwilling South south in their Biafra, despite being told firmly to stop doing that. 3) claiming marginalization and persecution when those do not exist in most areas of Nigeria 4) casually throwing out threats of war, war that older and wiser heads know is a terrible thing
A whole lot of Nigerians look with disdain on the poorly educated louts that make up the bulk of the IPOB rank and file. 1. IPOB aren't the only group agitating for Biafra. If you claim IPOB 'preaches violence and anarchy' on Radio Biafra, you should as well tell us which group in Nigeria that has been on the receiving end of violence and anarchy in Nigeria since the unholy amalgamation in 1914. Nnamdi Kanu is only harvesting the hate planted by the Nigerian state against the people of Biafra. 2. It is funny how the people from the Southwest has become the mouth-piece of the South-South people in Nigeria. The choice is theirs and theirs alone to make. Give them some space to do that and quit with your divide and rule tactics. It doesn't work again. The people are becoming wiser now. They know who the real enemy is. 3. That the people of the South-East and the South-South has been marginalised in Nigeria isn't even an issue to be subjected to any debate. For you to boldly come here and claim there is no marginalization means you're either being mischievious or you belong to the group of oppressors. Your evil alliance even ganged up against a South-South president and pushed him out of office. Nigeria has taken a calamitous nose-dive ever since and I don't see any form of recovery in the horizon. Things will definitely continue going down south till we get to the critical mass where the center can no longer hold. The rest will be history. 4. Threats of war Peaceful referendum means war Niggah please! Biafrans want a peaceful referendum. It's funny how you lot think IPOB is constituted by 'uneducated touts'. A shock awaits you soon. It's as clear as daylight that you hate these people. What I've never been able to figure out is why you throw a fit anytime they tell you they're fed up with the relationship and they want out. How long will these strange bedfellows continue to cohabit? |

Politics › Re: International Friendly - Catalunya vs Basque: Lessons For Anti-Biafra Nigerians by fx45(op): 5:46am On Dec 26, 2015 |
obailala: It's funny how these largely young Biafran separatists have failed to educate themselves and always point to Spanish separatists and Scotland as perfect examples of nations separating without conflict. Just for your information, Nnamdi kanu was actually right when he said no nation separates peacefully. Scotland has been fighting for independence for centuries and it hasnt always been peaceful. Similarly, the Basque group in Spain has been fighting for independence for ages and their struggle has not been a peaceful one. The Basque separatists at some point were even involved in bombing airports and mass killings. No nation sits back and watches its territory being balkanised, not even an Igbo president will sit back and watch part of Nigerian territory being carted away by one group called ipob or massob.
So the big question is, are these young boisterous and naive separatists ready to sacrifice their lives, the lives of family members and their livelihoods over the election loss of an Ijaw man?... (because no matter how we look at it, the recent escalation of agitations were triggered after the elections). Unlike the 60's when the entire Igbo race was united in this cause, how many comfortable, truly educated and truly enlightened Igbos do you think are actually interested in this crazy road to perdition?... I for one am not interested in it for simple reasons.
Now regarding your question about why there is so much hate for the biafran separatist, the answer to that is very simple and it stares you in the face even though you have obviously refused to see it. Does statement, "the zoo must fall" ring a bell?... That statement doesnt exactly sound like an expression of love or respect does it?.... have you ever spent 5 minutes listening to the cringe inducing hate speeches churned out by mr kanu and spread by his followers on facebook et al?... and with those diabolic hate messages, you expect the subject and object of this hate to reciprocate with love?...
I would close this epistle with a popular Igbo proverb by the great Chinua Achebe:- "the man who brings home ant infested firewood should not complain when lizards start to visit" Hate begets hate... You're right. Now would you care to tell the world what could have caused Nnamdi Kanu's supposed 'hate speeches'? Would you be honest enough to admit that the Igbo nation has suffered institutionalized hate in the entity called Nigeria since independence? How do you blame Nnamdi Kanu for harvesting hate that the Nigerian state planted against Biafrans? Until we start telling ourselves the truth of our reality in Nigeria, the agitations for Biafra would continue. True nationhood is borne out of a mutually shared value system, beliefs, culture, vision, purpose and a communally driven destiny. Would you look at the Nigerian arrangement and be bold enough to say there is true nationhood? |

Two secessionist states, Catalunya and Basque will be involved in international friendly football games for their men and women tomorrow, saturday December 26th 2015. These are two different nations fighting for separation from the Spanish state. No rancour, no envy, no bitterness.
Now my question is... Why does the issue of Biafra generate so much hatred, bitterness and wickedness in Nigeria? Why do certain people feel threatened whenever Biafra is mentioned? Why do Nigerians wish death on harmless and peaceful pro-Biafran protesters? Why can't we learn from these Spaniards? Why is there so much hate in Nigeria?
Please mature contributions only. If you don't have anything reasonable to say, just read and pass. |
