Capitas7: Good morning everyone. While trying to relate the quite misunderstood regular sarcasm of some members to the recent "stones" on one hand, and searching for some important information just before the bull that seems to have been sustained for an unusually long time on the other hand, I stumbled on this post made in Aug. 2017. God bless you Oga Fxuser. Everyone is the CEO of their portfolio, and we keep learning till the day we stop trading. The fun and sarcasim is good to read and follow, we are one family as Oga Ihedioramma would say. God Bless u too sir Pull back continuation - no matter how much traders prepare mentally for pull backs , its remains a stressful period hence we need rules to keep us in chk - very few stocks are trading above above JAN monthly close, mkt still consolidating from Jan gains (some exceptions are NEM, FlourMill , and co) - d challenge with pull backs is buying too early (so buy gradual) - d challenge with rallies is selling too early (so sell gradual wen d time comes) - most of the retracement are ard -30% from d 52 week highs including d recent markdowns (diamond is ard -40%) #healthy - don't think have seen any 50% retracement (will double over the weekend) - it's not easy making money during such season .. patience dis supply led volatility is not done - to be honest , that Jan gbemu was plenty , we need one or two more months like dat within d yr |

IchimokuPilot: My Oga, kindly throw more light. The cash involved, even the commissions involved, can embolden you to slap Dangote, especially that it is a deal across the river. Looks like a fight involving a Lion and an African Buffalo. We need to know the cause of conflict as well. Who is firing and who is taking cover? too much analysis can lead to paralysis however .. most pull backs are finding support ard and above the 13 week ema almost all are above the 50 week ** EMA |

vivie01: Example of this buying into "hope" could be seen in those buying those penny stocks 'cos of the 1k rule. These set of people might be on a long thing eventually because there's simply no positive news driving the share prices. Well, except maybe they already factored in the fact that they were gambling with the money and if lost, it wouldnt bother them.
Most of those stocks are moribund. While those buying were 'hoping' to gain or that there would appear a "messiah" for those stocks, they should equally be aware that they might end up loosing the entire capital.
In essence, those buying into penny stocks because of 1k rule should beware. When those stocks get to comfortable bridge, you can always cross it.
@fxuser, sorry for quoting your mentions. They happened to relate to what I wanted to talk on. I just feel like contributing here today. a healthy market needs fresh blood , it's our duty not to give too much but everyone must give sumfin sha |

Pull backs some experiences and personal observations
- the longer price stays below your entry , d more doubt is created , dis will lead to 2nd guessing and loss of confidence - the further price drops below your entry, d more ur attention & mental resources is confined , dis will lead to fear also - its okay and mentally helpful to expect price to drop lower once u enter a trade . if this surprises you , ur frustrations are doing press ups - price will meander longer that u expect - if ur expectations are in line with d general expectation, its not likely going to happen - news are overrated, any immediate reaction will not last - once u come down from d bus , d driver is likely to arrive, live with it - patience is ur friend when price is above d longer moving average but ur patience will be tested everyday - weekends take forever - breakouts are easier to spot but pulling d trigger is way more harder dan u expect - buying support requires far more patience dan the above - and be be lo
wat are your experiences |

Deadlytruth: As per the first bolded; the issue of difficulty with the language codes here confronts every newcomer alike. All you need do is to keep looking critically at the context in which any code is used and you'll get it after few attempts. When I first joined this house about 5 months ago as a fresher it did not take me much time to discover that DD, Jijo, jijoist, MM and IGG respectively mean Due Diligence, jump in jump out (i.e. bargain hunting), bargain hunter, Market maker and Initial gra gra. Though I am yet to know what exactly "Janet" is used to mean here, believing I soon will.
As per the second bolded; you obviously got discouraged and exited the market for some time due to being burnt by that market crash. The truth is that we all were burnt by that same crash with some of us suffering even second and third degree burns but refused to withdraw like you did, and through the ensuing experience got better equipped on how to identify potential short term upswings as you observed.
For the third bolded; you seem to be very modest in approach to life to be looking at 25℅ profit in a whole year. However, you have been advised to look the way of DANGOTE FLOUR and SUGAR, FIDELITY, FBNH and some few others doing really well if that is your purview. Lastly, the most deadly mistake anyone would ever make in the Nigerian investment environment is to share the belief that there are stocks he can buy and then go and sleep. Please perish that perception. You are likely to wake up and discover that you missed several opportunities to make a life changing profit while you were asleep. Well Said ! make he no fall in love with #janet lolx |

ogedanny: Top 3 Reasons Your Stock Prices Won't Go Higher:
I had a discussion with someone (name withheld, but let's call him Michael) who wanted to understand the reasons some shares rise faster than others. His portfolio had more "low-priced stocks" trading below N10, which he deliberately selected to take advantage of volume-driven profit; what I mean is, the stock units he owns ranged from 100,000 - 300,000, then I asked why he adopted that trading strategy, he said he believed that "someday" those shares would increase by N1 and he'll make millions of Naira.
If you take a closer look at his expectations, they aren't far from reality, those penny stocks might rise and earn him a minimum of N100k profit on each share. But, here is the sad reality, his portfolio return had been on the negative territory for 2 years now, the stocks, which were "randomly selected" had been down. As at when I checked his purchase price against the current market price, some stocks nosedived to less than 50k after NSE lifted the 0.50k minimum price per share restriction.
My next action plan:
Read here - http://nigerianstockstobuy.com/pick-fast-rising-nigerian-stocks-today/ sadly d mind naturally sees cheap / penny stocks as '' bargains '' add some '' HOPE '' strategy it becomes a classic death trap ! |
