There are uncountable reasons why its cheaper and easier to do business or buy goods from Onitsha. I may not wirte all but will give the basic ones

1.Proximity
Onitsha is a commercial city with less land mass. You can move across the city within 30mins. The various markets in the city is not far from each other thereby offering you the convenience to do Biz in the city. For example ,moving from main market to building material market takes only 10mins and can cost N100 for transport.

2. Large Concentration of importers/Varieties
The markets in onitsha has importers in virtually all items. That is why it is easy to find and buy almost all the varieties of items u might need here. Also it makes the prices affordable. There are some items you can buy cheaper in onitsha than in lagos even though all cargos and shipments come almost through lagos ports. There are different markets for different items. Eg main market( for general goods- clothes, articles, phones, accessories), building material market, Shoe site market, Stockfish market, aluminium profiles markets, spare parts market etc.
U can get varieties of any type of goods u desire. remember what they said about variety being the spice of life

3. Affordable freight/ Transportation
This is one of the areas onitsha has a higher advantage over other commercial cities. Here in onitsha, u can get transport vehicles/lorries going to virtually all parts and states of Nigeria and even outside Nigeria like Cameroon, Ghana etc. Its not only availability but also its cheap and affordable. For example you can send goods or package from onitsha to Sokoto, Kano, Yola, etc at the cost of N1000. While sending goods from a location in lagos to another location in lagos costs same amount. Its so because there are many transport companies that transverse through Nigeria here in onitsha. For example, going from Onitsha to Sokoto which is a very far distance can take u only 10hours in a luxury bus. So u can come to onitsha from sokoto to buy goods and be back at sokoto the next day. Do u know u can go to lagos from Onitsha via a bus with N2000 if u dont hwve muchnmoney to board regular bus. Just go to asaba from onitsha and board a bus. And so with other locations throughout Nigeria

4. Good Infrastructure/Hospitality sector.
Thanks to the government of Peter Obi, onitsha has well inter connected roads. Also other amenities like schools, hospitals, hotels. You can get very good hotels at a cheaper rates. Even house rent in onitsha is generally cheap. You can get a 3bedroom flat for N240,000 The city is also well secured due to the empowerment of the various security agencies. Financial institutions like banks are scattered everywhere in the city. So getting money is easier.
This town does not encounter communal or sectorial crisis so there is peace.

5. Affordable goods
As I said earlier that Onitsha has a cluster of many importers. This makes it easy to buy goods at cheapest rate than elsewhere in Nigeria. Except foodstuffs that is generally brought down from north to east, virtually u can buy all other items at the most affordable rate here.

6. Cheap Rent
Generally its no news that rent in Onitsha is generally cheaper than most locations in Nigeria. You can get monthly shop rents ranging from N3000 - N30000 in big markets here. Even house rent comes cheap too compared to other locations. N180000 can get you a comfortable 2 or 3bedroom flats in the heart of the city. Such amount may get you only a self con apartment in lagos.

7. You can add yours

Fashion3 Top Places To Buy Beard Oil In Nigeria by GabinoMarket(op): 7:20am On Aug 30, 2019
The BEARD GANG Movement which was initialy thought to be nothing but a a passing trend is here to stay for good.
Not every man is expected to grow a beard but those who currently do have learnt to take care of theirs. One of the pressing questions therefore is - where should i buy my grooming products- especially my beard oil.

1. ZigManly: Zig Manly is Africa's leading male grooming brand. They sell mostly male grooming products from hair washes and beard washs to beard oil. They have their own beard oil brand called- Forte Ambition. The great thing abut Zig Manly is that you also get to see other brands of beard oil. This makes for specialization which the other platform that sells other stuff maybe not offer you.

2. Jumia : Is Nigeria's leading online store almost all products you can wish for- except maybe cars. They boast of quite a number a beard oils and creams of different brands. They do not specialise on just male grooming items you can also get other items like shoes, clothes and many more.

3. Konga: Konga just like jumia a leading online store. Their strength is also the fact that you get every other thing you want and not just beard oil.
FamilyRe: My Husband Threatened To Divorce Me Because Of His Friend. by GabinoMarket(f): 1:41pm On Mar 30, 2019
Was your daughter around when he said you should go and buy the card?
I just want to understand why he was hell bent on you leaving thw house.
Be very careful.
He apparently wanted to be left in the house alone and for what reason?
Be very very very cAreful about this man.The best way is to kneel down and pray with faith about this matter.
I pray God flushes him out .There will be a big quarrel between him and your husband. In fact you be begging your husband to take it easy on him

Chinnyrita27:
Good day nairalanders. I created this account to seek for advice as I am confused and crying as I type this. I have been happily married for 4 years with a daughter of 3 and my husband. Not about a week ago, I had issues with one of his friend in his absence in our home. He had this close friend who came visiting on a faithful evening last Monday(I was not strong enough to go to work),he came when my husband wasn't around so I had to leave whatever I was doing to keep him company while we wait for my husband, at some point I offered to get him food, he obliged and ate, it was not upto 30 minutes after eating, he asked me to go buy him card. Politely, I told him I can't as was so tired and weak to walk about 10 minutes under the sun, i suggested to recharge free for him from my bank, he insisted, frowned his face and asked if I was trying to tell him that he can't recharge from his account, I was shocked, he stood up angry and aggressively and drove out of the compound. I didn't utter a word, I was angry but kept calm.

Not until my husband came back, and when I was about to welcome him but, he angrily yield and screamed at me and asked why I had to insult his friend and call him poor. I angrily asked him why he believed his friend without trying to confirm the from me, we deeply quarrelled and he made statement threatening to end the marriage if I cannot respect his friends and his people. I have never disrespected him or any of his friends and family members before, I'm so confused, we have not be conversing and relating well since Monday. I tried to make peace with him as I wasn't comfortable keeping malice with him but he said I will have to apologise to his friend which is something I don't think I can do.

I am so confused, what should I do?
FashionDesigner Bags In Lagos: The Truth No One Will Tell You by GabinoMarket(op):
Designer bags have always been part of the style life of Nigerian ladies. But now? the wave has blown hard far and down to almost everyone.
Why not? What lady would want to rock the luxury feel and status a good designer bag gives you! Like i always say, every lady deserves a designer bag!
However there are some things you should know
1.Authentic, Brand New Designer Bags are super expensive : Look at it this way a celine bag goes for $3400 . Changed to naira that's about One million two hundred and ninety two thousand Naira! Now see how unrealistic if you see someone selling that same bag brand new for 100K?
It's just not possible
2. A Way Around it is to buy Thrift!:Thrift is also known as okrika/fairly used. That is the smartest way to rock designers if you are not ready to churn out millions(perhaps you would rather use those millions for something else? Yes!)
3. Where to Buy Thrift: There are a lot of online stores that sell thrifted designer bags- there is a catch however- its trial by error. You can buy a bag and it will turn out to be in very bad unusable shape! A store you can trust however is @lugayastore. They also have a website for https://lugaya.com/.They are on instagram. They have proven to be dependable and honest when it comes to selling thrifted designer bags in Nigeria and they deliver nationwide. My ony problem with them is that they don't deliver worldwide.
