We live in a postcolonial nigeria in which the kingdoms, which are precolonial states, are no longer actif. The Oba of Benin is the King and Emperor of Benin Kingdom/Empire which is way larger than you think. It comprises Edo-state, Delta-state, Lagos state and a bunch of other states which were part of the precolonial country. That is why you have such a thing like "bight of Benin". Greatness lives traces.
