Family › Re: Will I Ever Get Married? by gaby(m): 4:46pm On Oct 04, 2016 |
Onegai: There's a difference between dating a guy you're not sure of and dating a guy you are wondering what you're doing there. I have been on dates where I wondered what made my legs come to this place and i have been on dates where I was hoping the guy would like me but inside me I was baffled why I was setting my standards so low.
See, if you think this longings you have and loneliness you feel are bad, try getting married to someone whom in a year's time you think to yourself "maybe I should have waited a bit longer". That is the truth of so many marriages, each spouse thinking "maybe, just maybe if I had stayed a bit longer, the next guy/girl was The One". So don't rush. The only people who can live a happy life in a loveless marriage are those whom are able to effectively distance themselves from any sort of emotion: happiness doesn't carry them away and neither does Sorrow. They are pragmatic to the core. That's less than 15% of the world's population. You're not one of them, because this is getting to you. You get?
If the pressure gets to you, get off social media. Why bombard yourself with a million pics of your classmates posting pictures of smiling babies and happy husbands and blissful peace? You're not jealous, just being sensible: no need to punish yourself looking at cake when you're dieting. You get?
What are your interests? Go find them. It is better to find someone who likes you the way he met you. So if you like going out, it's better to meet a guy in a club than meet him in church and pretend to be what he wants for a ring and dying inwardly. Go pursue your interests.
When you meet a guy, take a look at your list. Find the one thing that you really need, not what you desperately want. The first thing in my list was a Strong Sense of Humour and Wit. But every single witty guy i met didn't want me. Guys are weird, they want girls they can impress, not girls that can match up to their skills. That Intelligence factor you crave, well those guys will friendzone you so quickly for that chick who thinks a Sidney Sheldon novel is deep intellectual thinking and puts up motivational pictures which she barely understands. That's why every wise woman will tell you to "laugh at his jokes and don't crack yours ". You get?
Live and love your life. Don't wait around for Prince Charming, go out there, attend the ball like Cinderella did. He may be waiting there. Enjoy this minute because you are never getting it back. You get?
You're gonna be fine. Fist bump! @ the bolded...had always been made to believe I was a weirdo and before this great post of yours,I had thought there was something truly wrong with me but all thanks to you now I know I'm not alone on this..thumbs up to you! |

Business › DHL Nigeria Is Holding On To My Iphone 6s Bought For Personal Use by gaby(op): 10:48am On Jan 14, 2016 |
Can you imagine dhl calling me this morning that they are holding on to my iphone 6s bought for personal use because of custom charges and to that end i'll have to pay almost 60k to a dhl account before I can have my phone.
I sincerely would like to know when and why dhl has started collecting duties on behalf of the nigeria customs service.
This is not the first time it is happening but I have decided to escalate this because enough is enough. We have been too docile in this country. DHL wont try this in their home country and its a shame they are doing nothing about the numerous complaints from their Nigerian offices.
Lets begin a campaign to bring this daylight thievery to a halt by trending #dhlnigeriascam
Why should I pay an extra 60k in the guise of custom charges and to a Dhl account, doesnt smell right cos it isnt right ofcourse. |
Crime › Re: #dhlwhereismyiphone6s: DHL Nigeria In Iphone6s Mess With Cameroonian Intl Act by gaby(m): 10:39am On Jan 14, 2016 |
TopNaijaMusic: A Cameroonian-Nigerian performing artiste, Ashley Stephanie, who has released many hit songs and videos and has also graced many top shows in the country, and also got a nomination at the 2015 Nigeria Music Video Awards feels very disappointed and defrauded as she feels she is being scammed by the Nigeria office of DHL international. The Cameroonian stage goddess came back to Nigeria with her iPhone6 S+ with other apple accessories which she bought at the apple store in 235 Regent Street, W1B 2EL, United Kingdom. On getting to Nigeria, the phone stopped functioning. Apple requested that the phone be returned for repair which the international star did through DHL at their head quarters in Isolo. She paid in full for the iPhone 6 S+ to be delivered to an address in the UK and also paid for it to be returned to her address here in Nigeria. DHL made her show a document proving that the phone was for personal use and not for sale. DHL also gave her a document to fill for proof that the phone was for personal use and not for sale which she did. From the artiste, DHL has been keeping the international star’s phone since 18th December, 2015, trying to extort more money from her, claiming that it is the “Nigerian customs duty” on her personal iPhone6 S +. Surprisingly, the account number sent to her belongs to DHL. Please o my poeple! When have we started paying customs duties on our personal effects? DHL! Na wa o! The artiste is calling on DHL officials to come into the matter because of anything happens to her phone or if any silly story emanates from it, she won't take it likely with the company. https://topnaijamusic.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/IMG-20160109-WA003-1.jpg Can you imagine dhl calling me this morning that they are holding on to my iphone 6s bought for personal use because of custom charges and to that end i'll have to pay almost 60k to a dhl account before I can have my phone. Business › Re: CBN Stops Sales Of Forex To Bureax-De-Change by gaby(m): 7:29am On Jan 12, 2016 |
bookface: Government bonds for one - If you can ask your broker about this. If you can get rates closer to 12 or 13 %, this should help you beat inflation which is currently at 9% by about 3% per annum.
Properties, is probably still a good idea, although i don't like this idea very much because they are illiquid investments and would not return as much value as the first option in this case. Nigerian properties at the moment are overvalued. The best rental yield you would probably get from your investment is about 3-5% even in prime areas like Lagos and Abuja. Which is well below inflation rate at 9% and well below government bond yields at 13%.
Finally, if you are into stocks, you could consider a buy and hold strategy - but with a very long term view. In the short term (about 2 to 3 years) stocks will probably underperform, if current economic situation worsens. However, in the longer term, you would probably make a lot of money from holding some stocks in your portfolio. You should stay away from oil and gas stocks such as the likes of Oando - stay away from banks with bad corporate governance (especially banks with large un-collateralized loans to the oil and gas industry) - you can buy company stocks like 7Up, Coca Cola, Maggi, Cement etc.
The best approach is holding each of this items in your portfolio, and having a diversified portfolio holding
In either case, there is nothing worse than simply holding cash in your bank account. You lose 9% of the value of that cash every year.
You should be careful though, there are enough scammers out there, talk to your broker if you have one, and ask about each of the items i have listed above Insightful and well laid out.. |

Boss13: CBN will sell dollars to genuine importers, especially if such goods are allowable into the country. We cannot fund importers to bring in tooth pick. Nigeria should not be a dumping ground Any idea who manufactures toothpicks in Nigeria? Curios.. |

gottliebglobal: That is the problem with armchair Economists. The laws of supply and demand should take its course, but no, Government wants to put their hands in everything and control the exchange rate. Now they have seen that the CBN cannot continue to prop up the Naira against other world currencies. Next stop, devaluation. It is now not a question of whether to devalue or not, it is WHEN? I project within 28 days. Watch out for $1= Naira 350 Apt!!! |
