Ttalk: Why did Atiku delete his post on the innocent Deborah that was killed for blasphemy by Atiku Muslim fanatics? Because he didn’t authorize his aide’s comments and as much as he didn’t like what happened to Deborah, he also didn’t want to come across as someone that endorses casual blasphemy against major religious icons. But he mentioned that at no point should law be hijacked by mobs. There are blasphemy laws in the country and should be adhered to when people feel pained by an insult to their religion. There were also strong reports that Deborah was uncouth, rude, and highly disrespectful having thoroughly insulted her own biological father to his face just a few days to her death. |

Bookmark this page and put it in your phone reminder and reply to my comment after 2027 election. There is no way how? You must also consider the fact that politics is rapidly evolving in Nigeria. In 2023, PBAT won 12 states even though his party had 25 governors. Of the 12 states he won, 3 were not APC states like Oyo and Benue. So maybe having governors is not as impactful as you may think. In a transparent election, PBAT may find it difficult to win. But the odds still favor him, depending on if he changes his VP or not. |

Crowding out the political space simply to win a reelection is short term thinking at its finest. Long term thinking is assessing how these actions impact the democritization of this society and building institutions that support democracy, which in turn is designed to deliver accountability and good governance. What you're taking with so much laxity is poorly educated politicians stabbing the country in order to kill it with a thousand cuts. Nothing more. You don't retard the democratic system simply because you're insecure about one reelection. It's not that deep and it doesn't require this much desperation. |

Ibas was appointed by the President as sole administrator after activating a constitutional clause of state of emergency declaration which had the full backing of the NASS.
Ibas emergency rule had the NASS doing oversight functions.
Is this how a typical military coup operates ? But what gives the president the power to remove an elected governor? What constitutional provision? |
Politics › Re: Defence Intelligence Detains Brig Gen Over Alleged Coup Plot To Overthrow Tinubu by gadogado(m): 7:37pm On Oct 18, 2025 |
DomPerignon: Any coup now will see Nigeria disintegrate faster than a lightning bolt.
Nigeria of today is not Nigeria of Pre 1999.
The civilian political class in every state is well entrenched .
The populace is more restive and aware of their rights and won't give it away for an illegitimate military junta that did not give their consent to.
There must be consent by the populace to the government of the day to govern them.
And how is the military going to manage running a country like Nigeria today without widespread consent?
You must understand that past military juntas relied on consent to remain in power and always justified seizing power from fellow military juntas on the basis of lack of popularity of the ousted regime among the people.
There's no way we can have anything dictatorship today because that will require tearing up the constitution and drawing up Admiralty laws that are alien to civilian life.
Any coup will not only be disastrous to Nigeria's continued existence but to those who ochestrted it.
The guys in the military today are a total different breed from the cocaine sniffing rambo types of times gone.
The officers today just want to serve and cashout bigly and retire to politics or their businesses.
Why should they risk all that for a doomed coup that if successful will doom them? If it were to happen, absolutely nothing would happen. No disintegration, nothing. People would go about their lives normally, some would celebrate it, some would be skeptical at the prospects of a military government being better than a democratic one. That’s all. Nigerians always talk big about disintegration and some kind of war, but cannot even organize well enough to stage a mass nationwide protest on any issue. Is it you and your family members that will go into the bush to do guerrilla warfare? |

seunmsg: Atiku/Obi ticket cannot defeat Tinubu/Kwakwanso ticket in the north west and north central. But Kwankwaso ran in 2023 and was only able to win Kano state. His performance was terrible in every other north west state. Atiku won 3 north west states of Kaduna, Sokoto and Kebbi and the difference between Tinubu and Atiku in Katsina was 0.8%. I don’t think kwankwaso’s influence goes beyond Kano. He will bring Kano but no where else. |
Politics › Re: ADC: The Only Reason Obi Should Accept VP To Atiku by gadogado(m): 8:16am On Jul 06, 2025 |
Amitex: If Kwankwaso is not joining coalition, let Peter Obi deputize Atiku, but the Caveat that Atiku must rule for a single 4 years term. NOT NEGOTIABLE!
My reasoning is simple. If Kwankwaso joins APC, Peter Obi as presidential candidate cannot defeat them. Not that people would not like to vote for him, but APC will use Federal might and presidential might to create voter aparthy in the South through intimidation, ballot box destruction and BVAS machine snatching. From Lagos to Rivers, it would be war, with many fearing to go out to vote. The Police and army will look the other way while election materials are being destroyed. Tinubu will make sure Peter Obi does not win Lagos. The Yorubas will activate Oro and clamp down on Lekki and Amowo-Odofin areas. Even in Alimosho, where Aregbe has a big grassroot support will not be soared.
The outcome would be a lot of polling units results cancelation, while the Northern votes will be 60:40 to APC.
If Kwankwaso joins the coalition, Peter Obi should contest, he will be syre to win and be ready to leave the North to chose their candidate in 2031. That way, Tinubu would be far gone. Even without federal might. Obi on his own cannot defeat Tinubu. Let’s assume that Obi takes all the states in the South south and South east, that makes 9 states with 16% and 11% vote share respectively. Let’s also assume they split the North central with 3 each. Obi takes Benue, Nassarawa and Plateau and Tinubu definitely takes Niger, Kogi and Kwara. That makes 12 states. Obi is polling 10% or less in the North west which is 24% of total votes and has 7 states. North east has 6 states (with 13% total vote) and Obi can only plausibly win Taraba. Making 13 states now. Ok Lets even give Obi Lagos again in the South west. That’s 14 states. Meaning Tinubu takes 22 states. Obi needs very extensive networks in the north to stand a chance at winning. His emergence in 2023 only served Tinubu by splitting the vote Atiku would’ve got in the North central….he didn’t stand a chance at winning in 2023 but played the role of spoiler for Atiku. He stands a much lesser chance in 2027 unless he teams up with a strong northerner. Here is the basic arithmetic of vote share by region and you can do with maths yourself. NW: 23.6%. (7 states) SW: 18.4% (6 states) NE: 13%. (6 states) SS: 16% (6 states) NC: 16%. (6 states) SE: 11% (5 states) This is based on INEC data from registered voters in the different zones. Ok so how can Obi win without a single NW state and maybe 1 NE state and 3 NC states? So he comes out with 4 states out of the entire 19 northern states…that is not competitive at all. Elections are a game of numbers and calculations not a game of emotions, fanaticism, or wishful thinking. |

Nairalandnigga: We have seen what Atiku and the entire North are planning. They want to use Mr Peter Obi to actualize their insatiable desire to become President through the back door, tomorrow they will say Ndi Igbo are saboteur.
We hereby make it officially clear that Peter Obi is no longer a member of ADC and will return back to Labour Party. Afterall he never resigned from labor party.
The North should respect zoning, and it's still the turn of the South. If the North thinks they can disrespect both Obi, Tinubu and the entire South, let Tinubu continue as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
We can not allow anyone from the North when the South has not even concluded their turn. We call on all Obedients Worldwide to continue to support Obi.
But you see, Atiku will never get any support from Obedients, until the South finish it's 8 year term, just the way the North, through Buhari finished their own 8 year term.
The North should respect zoning. Equity is the key. What rubbish zoning are you talking about? Zoning that goodluck jonathan killed out of greed. That man ran in 2015 even though it was the turn of the north from 2007 to 2015. But he wanted to be president till 2019. So obviously zoning is no longer an issue. It is not in the constitution of the country. Zoning is just a party’s strategy at capturing power not some kind of national referendum backed by any legal instruments. Ultimately, north or south, it doesn’t matter. What matters in good governance. |

DomPerignon: I predicted early this year that the NC and Christian north will realign with Tinubu .
I also predicted of the SS giving their support to Tinubu and how a faction of the PDP will eventually endorse Tinubu as well.
The only one yet to become obvious is the indigenous Hausa population in the NW and other northern minorities endorsing Tinubu n what I detailed was as result of the simmering rift against Fulani hegemony
Any coalition between the Fulani and the SE will be an excerscise in futility. And we can thank Buhaei for totally destroying the Fulani franchise in the north by handling Fulani bandits abf terrorists alike with kids gloves. Completely incoherent logic. The only reason politicians are decamping is because the government is orchestrating crisis and instability in opposition parties while at the same time using all manner of inducements to attract opposition politicians into its fold. In actual fact, this is the laziest type of politics a party could possibly engage in. All you’re doing is just making everyone join you because you’re not confident enough to fight it out with a robust opposition. In the process, you’re damaging the democratization process due to extremely short term thinking. The government of the day does not enjoy mass support in any part of the country outside the south west. There is still a massive cost of living crisis and Tinubu has not been able to conclusively fix any of the problems he inherited, not a single one. Just because politicians are moving does not indicate a mass support. Politicians are moving because they’re not sure their parties will give them stability and litigation free tickets. |

I will tell you - Atiku has no business contesting to be president between 2023 and 2031 because this period has been zoned to the south and he is not a southerner! So then why did goodluck run in 2015, knowing fully well it was the turn of the north? How can you have Obasanjo from 99-07, yar’adua from 07-10 then goodluck from 2010-2019 if he was successful. It was Goodluck that damaged the concept of zoning due to his greed. You can’t apply zoning only when it suits you or where you find it convenient.
