Most convincing reason could be sickness or decided to wait for a important ceremony e.g wedding graduation child birth if there was any, not advising you to lie though but giving examples of considerate genuine reasons.

Well she stayed 5months of 6months visit visa, ECO could think if given 2yrs she could stay a yr and half, will advise she apply for 6months though, doesn’t really matter if 6months or 2yrs.

State in the application, well you understand her visa wasn’t renewed coz she stayed 5months instead of 3weeks intended stay, give genuine reason and back it up with you thought she could stay upto her visa validation. Also State your reasons on compassionate ground and tell them that now that you aware such long stay won’t happen again.

Also tell them her grandchildren missing her so much and it’s gonna be very hard difficult to take all the grandchildren to Nigeria to visit her due to....state your reason e.g finance, it’s convenient and cheaper for her to come than taking the children to her.

Just imagine you stayed 5months of 6months visit visa, what does that tell you? People always mislead you that you can stay as long as your visa valid, that’s wrong.

Home Office is now aware that old people stay in UK longer to become child minder and use public service like NHS for treatment.

The only time you get away with long stay is if you told them you staying for long and the reason is genuine and you granted. Not I’m gonna stay for 2weeks and stay 5months. This long stay visit was ok with them years back but now they don’t appreciate it anymore.

Your concern shouldn’t be if you should apply for her 6months or 2yrs visit visa, your concern should be how to convince the ECO why she stayed 5months of 6months visa.

How do I convince the ECO why she stay so long? The reason really is she is not doing much in Nigeria. Also my children are in full time education, so she is really not doing any/much childminding for her grandchildren. So its just for
a change environment.

Also note that my first question was how do we make a successful application and secondly 6 months or 2years application because we applied for 2years after her first successful application hence I asked do we revert to 6month application.

Please give your views.

Please I need advise on how to apply for my mum-in law.

First application successful. and was given 6months visa. She left a week to the visa expiration date.

Second application refused because she stated she was going to stay 3 weeks in her first application but stay about 5 months

Third application refused for the previous reason again and we said she had £1k available for her travel but did not provide evidence of this.

My questions are
how do we make a successful application for her.

Can we make a 2 year visit visa application or 6 months again?

All advice is welcomed.

Can anyone give me a genuine advice, I already have a degree in Science but am thinking of furthering my qualification by studying as a dietitian and specialising in e.g oncology or age relate disease or other renal/kidney  ,  along those lines.

But my aim is to go on my own and open a healthcare business/ Clinic not HOSPITAL in Nigeria base on the specialist study I eventually decide on. I have always love Nigeria after leaving as a child but would love to go back home and try my best to do something for my country no matter how small.

Do you think such a venture is needed or will succeed in Nigeria.

Also I heard if u left on ur own accord after overstaying 4 one year or less then is a one yyr ban so does this affect me even though I have not made any application for 18mnths to re-enter the uk.

I left on my own wish and was not removed.

To be honest am really desperate for a slot and again if the embassy no abt this y dont they make slots availble and then this will not happen cos there will be no need. they say slots are availbe every monday by 10am and 1pm at abuja n lagos respectively n i checked yesterday there was non n i ave checked today again. I am in london so at least i trust they internet here.
but again abt me callin that person i actually wanted to c if they will get me a slot n believe me i will not give them any money until i actually get into the interview plus i was just a bit curious.

the visa is to go and negoiate a contract plus i hear that ppl (touts) can get an appointment but u have to pay. then i wonder is it not the same booking system that we all look at online.
