Maybe you were on a wrong online business.... online business varies... always venture into long term business such as Affilating, blogging fiverr, seoclerks, or have a personal site a render services or sell, Ecommerce just to mention a few.
Also, stay away from Forex, PTC, HYIP, Binary, Stock, Investment, MLM, Betting, etc.... these are short short term and they are highly risky... though the RETURN is always HIGHER but you will surely loose more.

Lastly, it's not good for someone who is just starting out to venture into short term.
