The border between nigeria.tchad and cameroun is blocked due to d insurgency. That is the major market for Nigerian cement. Tchad with its burstling oil economy is in building phase. It is this fact that brought the need to clear their warehouse of unsold cement which would damage just 2 month after production if unsold. Rememebr the rainy season and humidity. Those that buy must ensure its prompt use cause it has a short life span.

Your Question is so daft to say d list. So only boko is likely to target sheriff? If it is alledged that sheriff is a sponsor, won't the so many victims of the insurgency try to vent their anger on him. His enemies are plentiful. And u and I know that the soldiers cannot shield him from boko haram. These guys are too much for the niigerian military. How many local governments they protect from boko? PoliticsRe: Human-Rights Is Silent Over Nasarawa Police Killings : Why? by gangar(m): 7:21pm On May 11, 2013
Human rights condemn when an authority vested with power and armed abuse those powers and kill innocent people. That is people who were legitimately enthrusted with arms and state machinery. What is there to condemn in a cult organization that is illigal and outlawed to start with. Condemning such is even giving outlawed cults legitimacy. Therefore even in such instances the police are still to condemned for not taking enough precautionary measures to protect themselves.

Let me start by saying that this movie (if you can even call it that) is really very SAD. From the SAD twisted human being that sat down and wasted his time and energy to put pen to paper, the sad twisted people that invested in him to the poor actors that were involved (and according to cnn duped and redubbed). What kind of irresponsible human being would incite 1.5 billion people to entertain his sick fantasies and evidently sick mind.

People were trapped in their shops and died. These bombs are sometimes planted deliberately by JTF to justify their continued operations and of course justify the trillion budget of the FG. Just call anybody in maiduguri and confirm!!!

The Elephant In The Room By HANNATU MUSAWA , Leadership Newspaper; Wed, 16/05/2012
Imagine being confined in the same room day after day with an elephant! Apart from the fact that you would probably be shaking in your boots, it is fair to say that it would be impossible for you to ignore the elephant. Sometimes when the expression “elephant in the room” is used, it normally refers to an obvious topic which everyone present is aware of, but which isn’t discussed, as such discussion is considered to be rather uncomfortable.
Several months ago before the incidence of the Boko Haram attacks became so frequent, I wrote on “The Elephant in the Room” to address the fact that the government was very obviously ignoring measures necessary to solve the problem at its root. From the first time I wrote this article to the present, not only has the Boko Harm offensive developed into a hydra-headed monster, it has also grown tentacles of terror that are most likely being exploited and utilised by several other interests.
Needless to say, no matter the conspiracy theories surrounding Boko Haram or who at this point is involved in their activities, honestly, unless the problems and the people that created the crisis in the first place are addressed and all the people that suffered are compensated in one way or another, the attempt by the security authorities to stop the offensive will seem like a superficial measure. Let’s cut to the chase here: the truth of the matter is, even if the members of Boko Haram are neutralised, the situation can never be effectively dealt with in the long term as long as the lead protagonists that created the problem in the first place and nurtured it for several years before it became a Nigerian problem take responsibility for their conduct. The apparent disregard of the government to address this is the reason I reiterate this message.
From the beginning of the crisis till date, thousands of family members of the victims of bombings and devastation, victims of the extrajudicial killings of Boko Haram in the hands of the security forces and hordes of other people that were not protected by the state feel angry and disenfranchised. The majority of these people are poor, hungry and desperate. When a human being feels this kind of desperation and anger and is threatened by the kind of attacks Nigerians have been subjected to of recent, it is almost as if the balance of justice is disturbed. And unless that balance is somewhat restored, the society in which they live in succumbs to a rule of violence and the thirst for retribution from those people. I believe that is exactly what has happened here -- what we are seeing play out in this Boko Haram saga. The government has to realise as a matter of urgency that all the people that have been affected by this crisis need to see that justice is served together with a commitment to protecting their rights as Nigerian citizens. That and only that will allow the balance of justice to be restored and affected people to have closure.
In order to tackle the problem at its roots, government is going to have to upset and subvert a rather “government collectivist mentality” and fully investigate all the players in the whole affair, even those from within its ranks. They know it, we know it; heck everybody knows it. It’s the 10,000 lb elephant in the room that the president appears to ever so slightly tip-toe around.
If there is anywhere the government must start in its bid to stifle this issue, then, the buck stops at the GAS station or, more aptly, the SAS station! The Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awatiwal-Jihad sect, commonly known as Boko Haram, has been in existence way before Senator Ali Modu Sheriff (SAS) became governor of Borno State. In several incidents in Yobe in 2003 and in Kano in 2004 and 2007, Boko Haram has been reported to have been involved in minor conflicts with the police but was by and large not going out of its way to harm civilians. However, in regards to what eventually led to the present situation, there is no doubt that several high-ranking politicians, but SAS in particular, have been complicit in the saga. It is shocking that, today, as we suffer under the threat of Boko Haram, not only is SAS freely plodding around between London, Dubai and God-knows-where-else as if he wasn’t the one who created the problem in the first place, the president doesn’t seem interested in making this man accountable for his role in kindling the Boko Haram saga. As a result, it would be fair to say that the fortification of SAS’s role in the Boko Haram situation has now become to President Jonathan a mirror image of the resolve the late President Yar’Adua had in wrongly protecting former governor James Ibori.
While the actual crisis itself started in Bauchi State in 2009 when hundreds of the sect’s supporters launched retaliatory attacks on a police station, it was the five-day clash the group had with the police that led to the eventual death of the sect’s leader in Borno that gave birth to the bloody impasse we see today. When President Yar’Adua sent security forces to quell the situation, they proceeded to act ultra vires by randomly arresting and murdering people they suspected to be Boko Haram members. This brutal response by the security forces appeared like a reprisal and resulted in the unjustifiable extrajudicial killings of suspected members of the religious sect as well as many innocent citizens. The horrendous clips can be viewed on:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PxrI8ihrkrw&feature=related
It was also at this time that the sect’s leader, Mohammed Yusuf, and alleged sponsor Alhaji Buji Foi were extra-judicially murdered in police custody. Furthermore, at that time, Mohammed Yusuf’s father-in-law, 72-year-old Alhaji Baba Fugu, was also murdered after which his houses and plots of land were forcefully taken over and destroyed by the state government. The alleged financer of the group that was killed on the same day as Mohammed Yusuf, Alhaji Buji Foi, had been a former commissioner under SAS’s cabinet and was also considered as one of his political opponents. At the time of his arrest, it was reported that he asked to speak to Governor Sheriff several times to which the governor refused to respond. Shortly after, he was murdered, allegedly on directives from above. The clip of his unspeakable murder can be viewed on:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBgdxJp8RzY
Whoever it was that ordered the extra-judicial killing of the sect’s leader and Alhaji Foi, it is yet to be established. But one can say for sure that the deaths of these two men have been the main catalyst for igniting the ferocious violence unleashed by the group today. And whoever it was that ordered their unlawful murders must share the responsibility for today’s violence.
SAS, whose failure to respond to every security information he received during the initial unfortunate standoff, including a letter that was sent to him warning him of the impending security breach, by the former secretary to the state government, Babakura Alhaji Fugu, the first son of Alhaji Baba Fugu, the father-in-law of Mohamed Yusuf (the same man that was recently assassinated after he was paid a visit by General Obasanjo to bring an end to the crisis), should be called to clear up several uncertainties and enlighten Nigerians on who ordered the killings of people and destruction of property at the time the crisis began. The federal government should open a public enquiry immediately, starting with an examination of all the previous enquiries, reports, committees and white papers that had previously been set up by SAS when he was governor.
The aggression that stemmed from the original crisis was unnecessary; it was created by the unobstructed failure of governance and carelessness of the Borno State government and security authorities. Now what was once a controllable insurgency in one Nigerian state has morphed into an international crisis.
Although the victim’s family cannot be restored to the status which preceded the mayhem and their loved ones cannot be brought back, all affected victims should be fairly, equally and adequately compensated. And those who created the problem should be made to answer to Nigerians. If we fail to hold those who created this crisis accountable, it is likely that, as a nation, we will continue reaping the blood-spattered consequence.
I can’t imagine being in a room with a large elephant! Apart from the fact that I would probably be shaking in my heels, it is fair to say that it would be impossible for me to ignore that elephant. And while, sometimes, we shy away from discussing looming big issues, the truth is that they will not go away by themselves — much like an elephant in a room.

Fire Razes Down Barewa College’s Classrooms
Posted: March 2, 2012 - 19:46
By SaharaReporters, New York
Fifteen classrooms and one staff room of 91-year old Barewa College, Zaria, were razed down by fire this afternoon. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

Barewa College is one of Nigeria’s most famous colleges. Its written history describes it as “is one of the largest boarding schools in Northern Nigeria and was the most celebrated post primary school in Northern Nigeria up to the early 1960s. The school is known for the large number of elites from the region that passed through the school's academic buildings.”

Among its illustrious alumni are five former Heads of State and Governments: Murtala Mohammed, Yakubu Gowon, Shehu Shagari, Tafawa Balewa and Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.

It was founded in 1921 as the Katsina Training College and officially opened in 1922. In 1929, its name was changed to Katsina Higher College, and again nine years later to Kaduna College when its location was moved to Kaduna.

PoliticsRe: Breaking News: GEJ Declares State of Emergency in selected LGAs in Borno, Yobe, Niger and Plateau. by gangar(m): 5:12pm On Dec 31, 2011
Founded by Late Muhd Yusuf in the year 2002. He started preaching in 1996 in M/guri like an ordinary Muslim scholar but later introduced some creeds that distinguished him from the rest of the Muslim scholars and that was the beginning of the conflict between him & all the Muslim preachers in M/guri. He generated large followership not because of convincing evidences in the QUR’AN & SUNNA but, he actually has a very good human relation and very clever that he doesn’t forget people’s names easily and above all he criticize the govt more than all other preachers & naturally, what do you expect in a situation whereby the govt does not provide the dividend of democracy to the people.
However the population of Borno state is almost three million (3000, 000.000) and the members of the Boko Haram sect in Borno are not up to twenty thousand (20,000.00). Furthermore, in the year 2009 prior to the war he lost about 60% of his followers due to some disagreements concerning the legality of fighting the govt. bcoz some considerd it as leading the muslim UMMAH to FITNAH (sorrow).
Moreover, after the 2009 war, most of them including their leader Yusuf were killed and some fled out of the town.
However, the following are their unique features:
1- That Democracy is KUFR (infidelity) that the SHARI’AH implemented under democratic system of government is null & void and declared all politicians KAAFIR (infidels). In real sense they do not have a politician friend.
2- That the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria is not to be accepted by all Muslims. Insisted that the Holy QUR’AN is the only constitution acceptable for a Muslim, in this way they declared all legislators & legislative workers KAAFIR (infidels). It is so ironical & deceitful the claim that a politician & a legislator is their financier.
3- That western education (BOKO) is HARAM (prohibited) because it teaches evolution, it teaches Marxism, Leninism, and many other aspects of western education that are in conflict with ISLAMIC teachings and declared all students of western education as KAAFIR (infidel). As a result I can recall in 2002 a large number of very useful boys & girls quit schooling.
4- That working under govt. as solder, police, custom, immigration, civil defense is TAAGUT (idolatry), and declared all people in these service as number one enemies and that killing them is JIHAD (exerting effort towards the upliftment of ISLAM).
5- That civil service too is HARAM (prohibited) because the source of the money generated to pay your salary is not purely HALAL it include bank transactions, VAT from breweries etc. as a result I can recall that in the year 2002, many of their followers quit civil service and join farming, sells of tea, date fruit, scent etc.
6- That we have no excuse remaining under KUFR (democratic) system, that w must come out and declare JIHAD, overthrow the govt, and establish an Islamic state.
7- None of them believe in National ID card, Voter’s card or driving license. That’s why they encounter lots of trouble with highway patrol teams.
Above is briefly what distinguished the BOKO HARAM sect from the rest of the Muslim community.
Great Islamic scholars both within and outside Nigeria explained vividly the invalidity of all their claims with QUR’ANIC verses and HADITH of the prophet but they rebuffed in pride. Our most reputable scholar Sheikh Ja’far Mahmud Adam (RAHIMAHULLAH) of blessed memory lost his life in the process, however many of his students in M/guri who openly criticize the BOKO HARAM sect, were assassinated.
Now the bond of contention is that the security and all other Christians feel as if every Muslim in the north is Boko Haram. pls do justice to us…

PoliticsBoko Haram Disowns Konduga : Says Senator Ndume Also A Target, Now What Sss by gangar(op): 6:20pm On Nov 24, 2011
The spokesman of the Jama’atu Ahlus Sunnah oLidda’awati Wal Jihad, popularly aka Boko Haram, Abu Qaqa today described Ali Sanda Umar Konduga who was arrested by the Nigerian State Security Service SSS, as an impostor.

Qaqa, who spoke on phone in Hausa language to a group of newsmen at the Nigerian Union Of Journalists’ (NUJ) press centre in Maiduguri, said that the Boko haram sect does not have any political affiliations. “We do not belong to PDP, ANPP, CPC or any other party. Our struggle is purely religious”.

Abu Qaqa said that the attempts by the SSS to link the group to politicians especially Sen. Ali Ndume and late Amb. Saidu Pindar as its financiers were just ploys by the SSS to discredit the name of the group and create distraction in its activities. “The government is just using Konduga whose claim of being our member was since rejected, to pursue its own interests. He is just an impostor and not our member”, Qaqa emphasized.

“We have never been associated with any of these people. How could we associate with the same people that are involved in the same system we are struggling to topple?”, he asked.

“Even before the emergence of our Jihadist activities, these politicians had been engaged in their scheming and intrigues and this development is just one of such. It has nothing to do with our group. In fact all these politicians, Ndume, Pindar or David Mark are our potential targets”, he added.
