I was not allowed to perm my hair as child therefore I did not get my first perm until I was 19, which was just last year lol! I do sometimes miss those days of my hair being in it's natural state, natural hair is beautiful!!

And I cut my hair a few weeks ago and love it as well! The back and sides are shaved while the front and middle is longer sort of like a fauxhawk. I get compliments on it all the time so I guess it looks nice lol. I panicked when my stylist started cutting and wanted to tear up a little (I got over it lol) because most times as black women (Im AA) society teaches us that long hair is automatically more beautiful.I call bullllshyt on that because one of my homegirls is rocking a very very low cut fade at the moment and it is GORGEOUS, she colored it like a golden light brown and it just matches her. I just love short hair!!

But lemme tell about a random moment I had yesterday, I was talking to this Yoruba guy from class (I live in Nigerian capital after Houston so there are alot lol) and he kept looking @ me and asking if I had some African in me, so I said sure my ancestors hundreds of years ago would be of course. He said he asked me cos I had the physique of a African because of my thickness and he was like in Nigeria if a woman is really really thin sometimes men will look at her as if she is sickly and will not want to talk to her. Dunno how true that is but that's what he told me.

You can dive to any depth, just don't be too rough, unless it's needed. Because pay attention, diving is an acquired skill: the initial dip should be gentle, you need to get the feel for it and then once you're suspended you should plunge down with force

@Tru Mantra. Yes. When you come diving for my pearl makes sure you pack extra swimwear and an extra big diving tank, you will probably get drenched . . . that is, if you know how to properly use the equipment. It is an acquired skill like you said (winks).
