Eid al Adha Messages to all Nasarawa State Students'

I'm heartily delighted to felicitate with all Nasarawa State Students most especially our Muslim brothers and sisters world wide for withnessing this years Eid-al-Adha.

As we mark the 1439 AH Eid-Al-Adha, I urge all Nasarawa State Students to emulate the virtue of faithfulness of Prophet Ibrahim who was ready to sacrifice his Precious Son Ismael at the command of Allah and not objecting the commands.
As you offer your prayers, I hope that the true spirit of this auspicious occasion fill your heart with good cheer and may your plate of life be full of Sweet sewaiyyan topped with nuts of happiness.

May the teachings of this Eid-Al-Adha not only transform you but teach us to respect:
i. Our obligation of faithfulness to Allah
ii. Our obligation of faithfulness to transform Nigeria not minding our personal interest and gains
iii. Increase our piety for love, Peace and togetherness.

PRESS RELEASE

Nasarawa State Students' Association attention has been drawn to a
radio/cyberspace announcement on the 26th February, 2018 of a caretaker
committee for the association.

In light of the above, we wish to draw the attention of the general public
particularly students to the following;

(1) That there is no lingering unsettled crisis in NASSA National Body in
regards to the 2017/2018 Convention. This is because there was no
regards to fights or crisis before, during, and after the peaceful convention that was held at the Nasarawa State Polytechnic, Lafia on the 30th December, 2017, where all security operatives were present.

(2) That the Ministry of Education is not a member nor a Senate of NASSA that will constitute Caretaker Committee. Therefore, we urge all NASSITES and the general public to disregard the so-called announcement of Caretaker Committee by the Ministry of Education which was signed by the Permanent Secretary and was first posted on the cyberspace by a nonacademic staff of Federal University, Lafia.

(3) This is inhuman, unwise, and undemocratic of the Commissioner to the entire students associate in this democratic era.

(4) NASSA National Body dissociate herself from the announcement of
Caretaker Committee on the 26th day of February, 2018 on NBS and Cyber Space. The appropriate authorities are on top the matter while NASSA is committed to her Constitutional responsibilities.

(4) NASSA Leadership therefore call on the students to remain calm and be law abiding as this mere distraction is been taken care of.

(5) We passionately appeal to the Governor Alh. Umaru Tanko Al-Makura to come to the aide of indigenous students by disbursing the batch B and C bursary allowances as our constituents are going through challenges of studying in their various institutions.

The unfortunate incident that lead to the death of a student and left a few others injured had reshaped some of the structures within the Institution and also lead to the destruction of valuables .

I 'll love to extend my heart felt condolence /sympathise with the dead and pray for the injured for quick recovery & response to medication, not forgetting my Nasarawa State Student' who had an accident while going home.

I will love to State clearly that the act displayed yesterday by raged Student's around ICT, Veterinary Medicine college, Management Science and others as unacceptable and therefore condemned.

let me reiterate my opinion that waging tongue gossipers should confirm there stories before spreading their news across, so as to reduce excesses in the future.

I hereby call on Great Makurdians at all quarters to revisit their minds and react wisely for the benefit of the future, proper solutions /suggestions to the Student Union that will help in checkmating the activities of Business operators within our vicinity.
