Politics / Re: Conspiracy Against PDP Will Fail —ex-oyo Gov, Alao-akala by Gbongbonosi(f): 11:45am On Feb 15, 2013
Aderostock: Former Governor of Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala, on Wednesday in Ibadan said the conspiracy against the Peoples Democratic Party would fail.

Alao-Akala, while reacting to speculation that he would dump the Peoples Democratic Party, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Ibadan that the All Progressives Congress comprised "strange bedfellows".

He denied the defection rumour and expressed his determination to remain in the PDP in spite of the challenges.

He said, "I can never leave PDP. I am in PDP and I will be in PDP. I heard that some people were speculating that I am going to another party. How can I leave a big mansion and go to boys' quarters? Any other party in Nigeria is a boy's quarters."

He said the PDP remained a big party with diverse interests, adding that the "gang-up" against the PDP by opposition parties in the form of a merger would fail.

The former governor added, "Because the party is big, some people are even ganging up to fight it and with that too, they cannot get it right because they are not birds of a feather. Circumstances brought them together yet they will still fight.

"If those of us who have common interests are fighting, why won't those who do not have a common interest fight? So, let us see what will come out of that. They are ganging up because they know that we are Iroko."

He described those who defected from the PDP to other parties as "political jobbers,'' saying they would not add value to their new parties.

He added, "If you ask the parties they went to about their impact, they will tell you they have not felt their presence.

"The parties they went to will also be careful in dealing with them because they will repeat what they did where they are coming from. They won't allow them to have access to their secrets and strategies."

Alao-Akala urged PDP members in the state to be steadfast and to refrain from engaging in speculation.

A new political party from
members of opposition parties is
set to debut in the next few
months to challenge the
supremacy of the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) and the
newly formed (All Progressive
Congress), the presidential
candidate of Action Alliance (AA)
in 2011 election, Chief Martins
Onovo, has said.
At a press briefing in Lagos,
Onovo said leaders of opposition
parties, civil society organizations
and professionals have
commenced high level discussion
under the umbrella of Movement
for Fundamental
Change (MFC) With the hope of
coming up with a political
platform that can challenge the
dominance of PDP and APC.
“We already have a movement in
place. The movement isn’t a
political party yet, but at the end
of the day we hope to have from
it a political platform under
which we can challenge the
dominance of
ruling party and the newly
formed APC. This is because the
movement we are into is the
movement of the people. It is not
about politicians but Nigerians
who desire a change. Our
membership will cut across
political parties, civil society
groups and labour leaders,
among others,” Onovo said.
lol to challenge newly opposition party? rubbish they don't even have vision mischief

toothpaste: SW can never remove GEJ from Aso Rock. Very soon, Tinubu would be recalled by the EFCC and he would as usual, pee on his dirty white pant. After this ordeal, he would quietly backtrack from Buhari and the result of this is that boko's wip would be unleashed on his constituency.

Politics / Re: 2014 World Cup: Jonathansets Target For Eagles by Gbongbonosi(f): 8:10pm On Feb 14, 2013
Tolexander: President Goodluck Jonathan
on Wednesday charged the
Super Eagles to not only
ensure that Nigeria qualifies
for the 2014 FIFA World Cup
in Brazil but to play in the
final of the competition.
The President made the
charge at the formal
presentation of the 2013
Africa Cup of Nations trophy
to members of the Federal
Executive Council by the
Minister of Sports, Mallam
Bolaji Abdullahi, President
Jonathan also announced a
donation of N5Million naira
to the supporters club for
their dogged support of the
national team.
Speaking on
his dream
for the
2014 World
Cup,
President Jonathan said
since the Super Eagles had
come this far, they must
ensure that they not only
qualify for the competition
but play in the final.
”I want to thank the Minister
of Sports and the of course,
the NFF which has always
been associated with a lot of
stories for this feat. If you
had lost, you would have
been humiliated.
”I know that it is challenging
to manage a team. We will
continue to praise and
encourage the boys and
charge them to ensure they
qualify for the World Cup and
get to the final,” the
President said repeatedly.
Announcing a N5m donation
for the Nigeria Football
Supporters Club, the number
one citizen said, “We also
commend the supporters’
club. This really escaped me
yesterday (on Tuesday) when
we were announcing gifts
for the players.
”Government will give the
club N5m to encourage
them. It is not easy
supporting a team, be
singing and dancing even
when it seems the team is
not winning. We need to
encourage them” the
president said.
While presenting the cup to
the federal Executive Council,
the Minister of Sports, Mallam
Bolaji Abdullahi, said the
victory of the Super Eagles
was a vindication that God
answers prayers.
”We can conveniently say
that God has answered our
prayers after 19 years of
waiting. With the winning,
the mood of the country has
changed. God rewarded the
President’s passion and
commitment because before
now, past administrations
tried without success. God
ordained it that this will
happen during your
(Jonathan’s) time,” he said.

nonsom: I hail Igbos so much. And am very proud to be an Igbo man. I wonder what Nigeria would look like without Igbos, God loves Nigerians that is the reasons he brought Igbo into Nigeria. Igbo people are very Industrious and are capable to germinate on the stone. An Igbo man can equally press water out of stone. You can see an Igbo man in all the nook and crannies of this world. Igbos are God fearing people and Respectful, Igbos have contributed immensely in the development and economic upgrading in this Nigeria. Infact, is correct to say that Igbos are the chief economic power house of this nation, it is the necessities of Igbos that made Nigeria not to allow Igbos to seceed from the federal republic of Nigeria as at 1966 when the great hero in Africa solicited for the secession of Igbos from Nigeria. An Igbo man can do better in Nigeria when become the president. God want to turn this country to be great through the leadership of an Igbo man. God bless Igbo, God bless the federal republic of Nigeria, God bless Africa.
