Thanks....dts too small.i am looking at spending about 12-15k rands for the duration of my trip...still looking for other options tho
Thats a lot of money. Rands exchange is between 31 and 33 naira in the black market. EIther you opt for that or you use a USD card

@samtol4 hey,i wanted to ask again so as to confirm how i can get rands cos i wana travel to SA next month...are you sure of the access bank thing?does it still work?and lastly do u have any idea how much they charge for a rand when i use my card there and can i make withdrawals there with the access bank cards?
Acess bank cards work in SA. Rate is between 23 and 24 naira. But note that you can only swipe at pos terminals and cannot withdraw. Also note that there is a limit. You can only spend 100usd in a month with the card. Thats about 1300 rands or so.

In as much that i appreciate this pictures,i observed somethings.....

1-- It was said that the woman carring oxygen cant see,how come she was on the drivers seat inside the car on the express?
2-- Do we now have camera men standing in traffic taking photos?

I dont want to say this was staged because i just expressed my views on the picture.
Before you quote abt the right hand drive, the picture was taken in Africa
And who says some African countries dont use right hand driven cars?

Ignorant somebody. A picture so emotional like this and all you do is criticize.
Programming › List Software Development Companies In Lagos ( WEB) by geekybabe(op): 11:36am On Nov 30, 2016
Hello everyone.

Currently carrying out a study on Software development teams. My focus is to get a good feedback from Companies who develop Web applications, either for retail, payments, travel, or any other customer interfacing purposes. It could also be a full Software engineering/ consulting company.

I need possible names of these companies/organisations so I could contact for my study. My focus is companies with full stack development teams, inclusive of Business analysts, QA Engineers or Software Testers and maybe security experts. I would also prefer if the companies use Scrum/ Agile framework for their SDLC or maybe they are transitioning from typical waterfall SDLC to Agile.

Examples I know currently include Konga, Interswitch among others.

Its basically for academic research purposes. If you know any companies, please drop a name. Thanks

Your last sentence just gave me hope. I'm surely not giving up.
I'm not stressing myself so much per se. I have long stopped taking all the things you listed above. I have noticed that skipping meals worsens my pains. Like Friday last week, I was out of my work place to a distant part of town. I couldn't find anywhere to buy food or even snacks. Hence I had to miss lunch. I returned home around 7pm and immediately took something. The next day that was Saturday and even yesterday was hell for me. I can't really place what the problem is with mine. The pain do start an hour or 2 after meals and keeps worsening until I take the next meal. The pain would reduce immediately upon eating to my fill and would start again after an hour or two.
I'm just hoping to find a permanent solution soon. The thing has really reduced me to the shadow of my former self!
Hmm. I understand you. There are times that it just happens like that. But its not an everyday thing. After such long hours of not eating, try not to eat anything hurriedly. Look for something soft and calm first to soothe your tommy. Warm tea, or Warm water before an actual meal. Then dont eat too heavy. Eat light and in bits.

Dont give it a chance to affect your life, and keep positive. If possible have Biscuits, or something mild with you to eat on those long days. Try as much as possible not to skip meals. You'll be fine.. take care

You just confirmed my suspicion in the part where you said your ulcer was caused by camosunate. I took artesunate which has the same components as the one you mentioned sometime in June to treat malaria. I was healed of the malaria, but the drug gave me serious side effects, one of which is the ulcer I'm battling now. But the problem with mine is that I have taken almost all the ulcer drugs mentioned on this thread, yet no headway. I have even gone the unripe plantain route. Still, no positive result. I have also tried honey with aloe vera. Nothing. I am just hoping that one day the ulcer will go away.
Thanks for your contribution to this thread sha.
Sorry about the issue. But what exactly are you doing wrong? stressing? Eating wrong meals? drinking soft drinks?

Like I have always said, and i have experienced, Ulcer takes time to heal. Its not an instantenous cure. You must give yourself time, eat healthy, and be extremely disciplined with what you take in without compromising. For everytime you compromise, and eat fried foods, or drink caffeine, or soft drinks, Your ulcer will relapse regardless of the cures, or remedies you are using. And after a while, the Ulcer could go resistant to drugs and remedies.

Drink water liek your life depends on it. Water helps to dilute the acid being secreted in the tommy. This acid irritates the ulcer and causes pain. Drinking lots of water dilutes the acid and reduces its irritation. if by chance you eat a meal that could irritate your tommy, always make sure you have a go-to antacid that you can chew on or drink e.g gelusil/antacids.

Also, observe your eating and behavioral patterns and note what irritates your ulcer. Some people will say pepper does not cause ulcer pains, but for me it does. Dont just listen to people. Find out what works for you and stick to it.

If you have any other issues, pls send me a dm. I'll be willing to reply to any comment

Dont give up. You can overcome Ulcer.
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Monster HR Personnels; A Nightmare For Job Seekers. Share Your Experience by geekybabe(f): 11:52am On Nov 08, 2016
personally I think the HR profession in Nigeria is pretty messed up., or maybe some organizations do not get it. Job seekers are not losers. But some HR professionals treat them as if they are begging for the jobs.

Its sad because there are hardly jobs sef, and the Job seekers keep increasing at an alarming rate.

I personally also feel that HR should have defined fields.. or areas. e.g An HR interviewing for an accounting/ marketing role does not automatically qualify to interview for a Tech role. The skills are different. You cant ask me stupid silly questions that are not directly related to the role i am applying for. If you need to access my psychological or temperamental behavior, there are a million aptitude tests to do that.

In the end you ask all your stupid questions and you still wont pay more than peanuts. angry

These silly and stupid questions they dont ask foreigners before giving them jobs and paying them in USD.

Please o, I applied to a Uni for M.Sc. now...the school is asking me to come for an interview. My question is...is it really necessary, can I request for another option. Having to travel all the way because of an interview? Extra cost! Has anyone experienced this before. Your candid advise. Thank you.
I had a similar experience with UFS and WITS. UFS was not even willing to do skype. WITS did Skype after 4 months of sending proposals, and reviews by them. Several Assignments and exercises back and forth. In the end, none of them gave an offer.

If a school wants to take you, a physical interview is not necessary. Especially if you pass the basic admission requirements.

My take is this: Apply to multiple schools. I probably applied to over 10 schools after my WITS rejection. Application most times is free for most schools.

I still got a few rejections but I also ended up with offers from two very good Uni's. Have a very good proposal and keep applying. My advise is not to follow the traditional application process if you are applying for research. Try to reach out to Lecturers directly and ask them if they will be willing to take you as a research student. You would have to send your proposal and then they will review and tell you if they can.

My own process took some planning and research eventually before I got offers.

Thanks, I really need to work on stress and anxiety, but how do a banker handle stress? grin
well your health should be more important really. You can manage stress. make up your mind about it. make up your mind never to let anything at work get to you. that's the first step. then try as much as possible not to get anxious about things no matter what.

Thanks for your response. Please one last question. What if one decides to take the unripe plantain raw without fermenting in water. Do you think it would work? I just bought some unripe plantains this evening and looking for the method that will give me the quickest results.
Don't know about that. its actually d fermented water from the plantain that for the healing..and you have to take it for at least 2 to 3 days before it actually has a major effect. so if you are looking for a urgent relief..You might have to take somtin else.

Please for how long did you take this solution before it healed your ulcer?
Well, I took this therapy a while back. and i took it for about 2 weeks so that it would be effective.

I know it can be difficult to tolerate at some point, but it was really effective. together with watching what you eat. Stay of fried food, and soft drinks especially. Try to find healthier alternatives. Food like fried rice, eba, fried meat or fried fish, corn, chips, and nuts should be avoided as much as possible. let me give an illustration, its like having an open sore. Till it heals, you'll want to avoid allowing any rough substance or material rubbing on it.

Takea and stay healthy..

Pls tell me more about dat endoscopy, I don't feel like doing it
Well, never done it. My dad is a medical Practitioner, and he was very reluctant and never allowed me to do it. I know a couple of people who have done it, It was not exactly pleasurable, and if someone who is not a specialised gastro doctor, it might have side effects.

Endoscopy does not cure ulcer. Its just a process of passing down a a tube down your stomach so that images will be taken and the Doctor can see the extent of damage, and do a proper medical prescription. If your pain is really bad, and the doctor feels he needs an endoscopy, fine.

I have watched some endoscopy videos on youtube.

In the end, its your call.

Either ways. Stay healthy. truth is if you watch your diet, Stay away from stress and anxiety, You'll be fine.

All the best

like how often shld one discard the solution after fermentation. Also, can someone suffering from frequent indigestion and bloatness use it.
after fermentation..it should not be more than 3 days. the concentration gets intense..and the taste too.

like I said..the easiest way out is to actually eat properly and also get rested well. Stay stress free. you'll be fine
Career › Re: What Are The Career Opportunities For A Nutrition And Dietetics Graduate by geekybabe(f): 7:38am On Oct 07, 2016
wow..great course. I bet you don't even knoe the value of what you have. Go online and find out more about what people who studied nutrition all over the world are doing. Look beyond Nigeria. You could even start doing a lot of research and you could start applying for a post graduate degree.

with that kind of course you will go placed in a lot of developed countries. Read and Read. there are several scholarship opportunities for Nutritional scientists. Search and you could just get one. Think outside the Nigerian 'box'.

Dele Momodu.

It is just sad, that somebody who knows how to get across to the President should now descend this low,by dancing to the the dance rhythm of a section of the polity, which for a lack of better definition,I will call the wailers.

What did he study again?Yoruba. A man with a first degree in Yoruba Language, all of a sudden wants to be an Economic Adviser.

Dele Momodu should stick to his Glossy Magazine business, and leave the Serious matter of Governance to those in the know about Governance.
you are just pathetic. very very sad.

When did we get so low in this country? so because he studied Yoruba he can't speak up against a very bad and evil government ?

how much were you paid to antagonize reasonable posts against the government ?

once again Mr man,you are pathetic.

shut up. there are many Nigerians that will throw bigger parties than this for a child's birthday. Stop being bad belle. and stop exaggerating.

Because the Naira isn't stable at the moment it's advisable to change to rands
I changed 252k Naira to 600 dollars in Nigeria and I converted this same 600 dollars to 7917 rands after they removed commission here. If I had changed the 252k to rand directly in Nigeria it would have been 6300 rand cos rand was 40 Naira that day.
So I saved almost 2k rand by changing to dollars first.
How or when or were did 1 rand equal 40 naira?? Someone is lying
Intertnational rate is about 22 naira. Let me do your maths for you even at 27 naira.

252k in naira will give you about 9333 rands.. and about 10000 rands if you get a good deal for 25 naira

You lost a lot of money by converting to Dollar first. A whole lot. My advise, always ask around before jumping to conclusions especially wit this unstable naira.
