afodam247: BRO, hope u can share the questions with me. my own interview is this week. Just to see which other area i should recheck,
will appreciate it.
well...what do u know about Germany? what is the programme about? tell me about the programme's curriculum, where will u stay in Germany, what do you know about the city ,what documents did u send to this school before bring offered admission. know the politics of germany, know what you will gain from the programme and its application in Nigeria.is this programme not offered in Nigeria? how did u know about the programme. I think the best thing to do is just to tell them more that what being expected. For example if she asks what u know abt Germany tell her all u know. don't wait till she asks about the politics of Germany or the countries that border Germany before mentioning them. know the dates on your certificates as well.
I wish you all the best.

Eke40seven: I can't help but laught at your response.
There is a phrase that goes thus: "Good beer and machines, Bavaria's gift to the world..." and also heard that "..German sausages (Bavarian particularly) are the Würst.." (pun intended)
To add more, Bavaria, Munich particularly are known for:
BMW: Bavarian Motor Works or the Nigerian version Be My Wife
Football (Bavaria generally): popular Bayern München; and less TSV 1860 München; Spvgg Gruther Fürth; FC Nuremberg; FC Augsburg. and look out for their noisy drunk ultras
Transportation: ICE trains and Autobahns (express roads without speed limits) aircrafts.
Language: Other Germans think they have a throat disease because of the way they speak, wish you good luck understanding their dialect. and don't be surprised if they speak better English than you because its one of the compulsory courses in their schools and don't forget English is a Germanic Language and therefore very similar in structure.
Behaviour: humourless, direct, methodic, cold, and reluctant to talk to you and always minding their business and are considered arrogant and will even look down at their fellow German siblings. Apart from the occasional piercing look which can bore a hole in you they have no problem; They are punctual (lateness is frowned upon and can be considered insulting!): They are efficient, thorough and hard working and proud of their roots. They love them catholic church and conservatism.
Physical Appearance: Tall, fair haired (dark is very common too) and eye colour can range from gray to brown.(blond and blue eyes is a northern thing, e.g Hamburg). The women in some parts are considered masculine in structure by many Europeans but them dey OK sha, especially in Munich.
Economy: With their neighbouring Baden Württemberg in the West, they have one of the strongest economy in Germany, they produce everything from chemicals to optical and precision instruments; standard of living high but cost of living is relatively high too compared to Berlin. Don't just think of the big companies, the Mittlesland ( SMEs) are as important too.
and oh! Don't forget to buy your German friends a Dirndl and lederhosen when attending Oktoberfest and while you at it grab a sauerkraut and Würst so you won't drink on empty stomach. and oops! don't go calling them 'Bavarians', win them over by calling them Bayern.
P:S some of these descriptions may not apply to all/ everybody.
@ Eke40seven Lol..thanks

ebele17: I am a girl!!!!. I am going to stay with my sister and her family in munich. They are my sponsors. I heard accommodation is very hard to find becos of the Oktoberfest going on from sept to oct. Depending on when your studies are to start, we were advise to look for private residences. My course have a facebook group page and people have been posting links to apartments and room and all that. Find your course group on facebook and ask the people there. They are already on ground so they know the people that need room mates and the ones that have free apartments. They even know how you can apply on studentwerk website too.
@ebele17 I am sorry I called you bros.your name reminded me of our president so I could only think of a man. the issue is these private landlords dont reply of which I don't know why.Catholic halls are full.Student Union Halls,no space.I just tire. I will try the Facebook option.thanks a lot.how is Munich.please what is Bavaria known for?

ebele17: @Holyboss, i bid thee to heed thy good council of these distingushed gentlemen. I have my bsc degree and i was going for a masters program but becos i enrolled for another program in NOUN, i sent my statement of result with my application, and guess what? I bagged admission into one of the most sought after schools in Germany: TUM. You can check the university ranking and every thing. Competition is fierce there. But i got a slot in a restricted program. May not be the only black but i am definitely the only Nigerian out of thousands of applicants and we are not even up to 20 in the class.
Please dont be in a rush for anything esp school. Just register at NOUN, get ur first yr and then apply and u will surely get what you want.

My own 2 bits ooooo
#team winter
@ebele17 broos,so you are in Munchen.that is very good.I have been offered admission at TUM but finding it difficult to get accomodation. how can you help, please?

bissiejoe: It was just a confirmation that I have applied to open a block account with DB.
As Nimakor pointed out, use the account details form and probably teell her that you are in the process of funding the account
thank you,bro
TravelRe: German Embassy And Visa by geemana(m): 6:55am On Jul 31, 2014
Nimakor: Use the account confirmation print-out. When she asks about the transfer (and she will), just tell her you have not funded it. That's all.
Do your thing!
mhhh....I am thinking I should mail them to confirm. Any advice on that.
TravelRe: German Embassy And Visa by geemana(m): 11:23pm On Jul 30, 2014
bissiejoe: I am not sure if you can use the confirmation of account details, if you have your fund ready, make the transfer and you will get the confirmation of transfer in two days. Then you can use that to apply for interview
Furthermore, please what is the content of the slip you were given after applying for the blocked account? knowing that could help in trying to judge or guess if they would accept the account confirmation letter in place of the slip because I never get the money needed. Thanks.

bissiejoe: Damilola,
Let me use my situation then as a case study. I applied to open a block account @ the embassy on the 26th of May,i was given a slip confirming that I have applied to open a block account(the consular officer told me that I can use the slip to apply for my interview. Immediately I got home, I scanned the slip and attached it to an email alongside my admission letter plus data page of my passport and sent to the embassy to apply for interview. I was replied about an hour later to come for my interview on June 13th.
On my interview day, I went with that same slip( though) I had seen my bank account details from Deutsche Bank. After the interview, the consular office told me to fund the account and I equally got a mail from the embassy that same day, informing me to send them a copy of the confirmation of fund from Deutsche Bank as soon as I have it.
I made the transfer on 16th July and sent the confirmation on 18th July. On 22 july, I was mailed to come for the visa.
I hope this narration helps you and others to clear the air on the issue.
thanks bissyjoe,I applied for block account opening at abuja embassy but I wasn't given any slip. However, details of my account has been forwarded to me by the Deutsche bank. I guess I will just use that in place of the slip.

you can go to Abuja, but u will send the forms to Deutsche bank yourself. However, you must be staying in the North. The Abuja embassy is for Northern residents, although you can still try but don't tell them you are not staying in the North.

I don't think you can defer, you can only re-apply. However, the best person to answer your question is Mrs Laerm.I guess you know her.Cheers.
