I have a course mate dat is in munich and is in dire need of accomodation. The one about a hostel or hall I think bishop hall or bishop court or something. I used blocked account and sent me statement on Tuesday and I forwarded to bank. Same day. Embassy didn't open on wednesday. I got mail to collect on Thursday. And I collected today Friday.

ebele17: Yes ooo, its not insurance, its enrollment. My department wrote to me now. I was told that 5 weeks thing but its for delays that is if there are delays with visa processing, u can arrive on campus as late as first week in nov but u must enroll before then. And that includes doing ur insurance on time.
The 111€ is ur student union and ticket fee. I paid mine from nigeria using euro dom account transfer. It was instantaneous. The next day the thing reflected on my portal. I bought euro and made the transfer. U will also make allowances for bank charges too. Abt 26€. So dat one no be big case. Its the insurance that is giving me issues

@ebele17 try as much as possible to inquire abt your original admission letter.They might have sent it to Nigeria.

seunstein: TUM folks in the house....please,did u use the first 'unsigned' notification of admission e-mail sent from your faculty chair to open ur blocked account?moreso,was it used to apply for visa appointment also?Cuz the formal letter is coming by post and I am pretty sure I can't wait.

oh,you should have told them to send you a scanned copy before posting.hopefully it will get to you soon.I think you can also print your admission letter from your page while awaiting the stamped and sealed original.

Ogbeche77: You can try the youth hostel in Munich as well http://www.euro-youth-hotel.de/, but you have to make reservation....
Coodinators are in better position to help you out, they speak deutsche and can arrange temporary accommodation for prospective students

But I most let her know that she would be taking most of her courses at Alte Akademie which is the highest elevation point of Freising ... I always don't look forward going to the area, but do I have a choice.... She can take solace in Weinheinstaphan(The oldest brewery in the world) just next building to her department

Ogbeche77: Accomodation is hell is munchen especially during the Oktoberfest period starting in 3 weeks time... Your best bet is a youth hostel which is currently over priced or stay in Freising at Cardinal Dofner's Haus.. Its abit cheaper.. Start making plans for other alternatives now.. I have classmates who came last winter and had to stay in a guest house/hotel all through the semester.. So so expensive

Got to the embassy this morning around 6:30. That fair guy wey dey for gate wan try frustrate me. I told him that he is a joker. If the devil sent him, he should tell d devil that he didnt see me. The guy even said he will send me away, can u imagine? Mtewwww!!! After everythin, i got in and i met two cool people @Vivien and @kelechi if u guys are hear, let us hear ur experience. They went before me.
I got to the counter by d gate, counter 5, the VO na one german woman wey una dey refer to as chinese. She no be chinese ooo.

She took my documents, original, stamped my possport after she flipped thru it. I have one active american and anoda active german visa. I also have a german visa and indian visa that i have used before. She checked my sponsor ship letter, she asked me who d person was, i told her my brother-in-law. She asked me if my sister was married to a german, i told her yes. She said my visa fee, i gave it to her, she printed recipt and gave me. She now said i should pick up the phone so dat the interview can start.
She asked me why my program, i told her that my whole study and work experience has developed me for this level and dat i am going for the course because of the unique nature of the program, what i will learn, the research area and so many other things. I talk tire o. She asked what my bsc was, i told her. She asked what materials i submitted for d admission, i told her. I forgot to tell her i did video interview too as an admission requirement. She picked up my first letter that they used to notify me of admission, she read it more than 5 times, this is wat d letter says:

She read it more than 5 times, no be joke. Maybe she could believe i got a preliminary admission letter signed by d chair himself and this one no be admission letter ooo! She still see the formal admission letter join that one sef.
She asked me where my school is located? I told her munich, she said 'are u sure?' I told her that my school is in munich but my campus is in weihenstephan, freising. She said ok. She asked me which school i graduated from, i told her. She asked what i have been doing till now, i told her from my nysc in nafdac to work in a pharmaceutical firm in VI to my work with WAEC now. She asked if i still worked with them, i told her yess. She asked me to give her a breakdown of my program ie d individual courses for each semester, i gave it to her, course by course semester 1, 2 and 3, 4. She asked where i will be staying. I told her munich with my sister, she asked if my sister has a house or apartment, i told her house. She asked if they can support me financially, i told her yes. She asked what they do, i told her that my sister works for sharp and her husband works for allianz SE. I even had to give her like mini lecture on their jobs. She asked me to tell her about d town i am going to. I told her that munich is one of d biggest cities in germany, has abt 36 UNESCO world heritage sites( germany oo), is home to Oktoberfest, the football club Bayern Munich, Max Planck research institute, the best in europe, my school is the best school in germany and 2nd best in d whole of europe, she now said i should tell her abt germany in general. I told her that germany has a federal Parliament made up of Bundestag and Bundesrat, the chancellor is angela merkel,home to world class researchers and inventors like Einstein, Planck, e.t.c, had its final unification of the Eastern and western bloc in 1990, has experienced 2 world wars......... At this point, she now said i should stop. I dunno if she was afraid dat i go mention Hitler join d thing. Lolzzzz!!!!!. She asked me what i will do with the degree, i told her that i will come back to use it in naija (story, if they see my brake light sef). She asked in which area, i told her govt. She asked what i have done to prepare for my trip, i told her that i have been learning german and speaking with my program coordinator on research areas. She now said " du schribt german gut?" I now replied " ich schribe german gut nicht" lol!!!!!!. I talk say na wa oooo!!!

So, she then said thank u and that i will receive a mail later and that i should follow the instructions there. Na so, i tell am thank u ooo. My interview pass one hr sef. I stand sotee my hand and leg start to dey pain me. Lol!!!!.

@ebele17 Pele.I guess they are now trying to tell us German Visa no be beans.

All ye people that want to follow KLM,check their website. From what I saw,it is the return ticket that is cheaper ,910euro.One way is like 1550 euro.who has checked please?

The breakdown was clearly a 'spoon-feeding' attempt to fill the youngest of infants with the softest of teeth. Am tempted to give a standing ovation but the interview ain't over yet and am also typing from the toilet right now (that wasn't necessary, sorry). I pray that other Ogas in Germany will take a cue from your effort and brace this 'Naiopera Lanfrey' show. I will ask another set of question soon. @geemana, verily verily, thou seekest a double shengen visa like the 'e' in thy name. Do you want a backup, should one expire? Thou needest not visa into another shengen territory when thou have one.

ebele17: Laff wan kill me die!!!! How u go need Netherlands visa wen u re carrying a student schengen visa dat gives u access to all schengen countries.? You no go kill me wit laff ooooo!!!!!! @eke40seven, come rescue me ooo!. KLM is Royal Dutch Airlines, emphasis on the Royal and Dutch. Its is better than Lufthansa. On a normal day, person no go fit afford am not even for on second. Its better than Qatar. I dont know if i have fully infused in u the degree of effizy wey dey there. Mayne @eke40seven will explain more in olde english. Lol!!! To fly KLM be like say na hotel u dey. On a very normal day, their cheapest flights is like 300k or 400k and above. So, this one they are doing promo, i suggest u grab with both hands ooooo. Grab am. U fit fly to Frankfurt and take the S-bahn down to Munich. Its not expensive. U will save money sef.

ebele17: My suggestion is for now, rent a flatshare i.e like a 2 or 3 bedroom flat that u will share with others for now. Those ones are affordable and easy on d pocket. The only thing is dat u ll have room mates which is even nice. U can make new friends and all. U have your own room but u will share toilet and kitchen and the flats come furnished so u dont need to buy any furniture or property. U will pay utility bills like phone but i think light and water bill is part of the rent. Ur landlord will let u know what ur rent entails.

ebele17: Wetin happen? Did u check the link i sent to you? They have plenty of reasonably priced houses there in Munich and environs. How come? U didnt see d one u like? Did u check facebook to see if ur program has a course page there? Check that link very well. It is either that or studentwerk. And u know studentwerk takes time. I already have accommodation with my sister but bear in mind that during ur house search, dont pay anybody anything if u havent seen the house. No be only naija fraud dey ooooo!!!!!!! Some of ur landlords will even like to meet u in person too.
Anyway, u neva tell me what d problem is.
I wan travel october like middle becos i go pass thru America first so i neva know the airline but i was thinking of turkish air. KLM is doing promo one way ticket to Frankfurt for about 250 dollars i think. They sent it to my mail dis evening. Check their website. The promo is like Buy by 30 sept, travel in October. So check their website.

@ebele17 thanks for the links u sent. yes,there are a couple of affordable rooms on those sites.I checked my programme's Facebook page,they had a couple of advice for new students.I guess the issue is me not being in Germany yet.Last night,I sent mails to about 10 Landlords.I am patiently awaiting replies.You know that as a student,there is a limit to how much u can withdraw per mnth. if I now spend 80percent on Accommodation,that is a Gobe. On the airline,will check those sites.I intend to travel before the end of September. Danke schön.
