Health / Canadian Doctors Protest Raises, Say They're Being Paid Too Much (yes, Too Much) by GeeTeeA(m): 8:39am On Mar 07, 2018
In Canada, more than 500 doctors and residents, as well as over 150 medical students, have signed a public letter protesting their own pay raises.
"We, Quebec doctors who believe in a strong public system, oppose the recent salary increases negotiated by our medical federations," the letter says.
The group say they are offended that they would receive raises when nurses and patients are struggling.
"These increases are all the more shocking because our nurses, clerks and other professionals face very difficult working conditions, while our patients live with the lack of access to required services because of the drastic cuts in recent years and the centralization of power in the Ministry of Health," reads the letter, which was published February 25.
"The only thing that seems to be immune to the cuts is our remuneration," the letter says.
Canada has a public health system which provides "universal coverage for medically necessary health care services provided on the basis of need, rather than the ability to pay," the government's website says.
The 213 general practitioners, 184 specialists, 149 resident medical doctors and 162 medical students want the money used for their raises to be returned to the system instead.
"We believe that there is a way to redistribute the resources of the Quebec health system to promote the health of the population and meet the needs of patients without pushing workers to the end," the letter says.
"We, Quebec doctors, are asking that the salary increases granted to physicians be canceled and that the resources of the system be better distributed for the good of the health care workers and to provide health services worthy to the people of Quebec."
A physician in Canada is paid $260,924 ($339,000 Canadian) for clinical services by the government's Ministry of Health per year on average, according to a report from the Canadian Institute for Health Information published in September 2017. On average, a family physician is paid $211,717 ($275,000 Canadian) for clinical services and a surgical specialist is paid $354,915 ($461,000 Canadian), according to the same report.
This is total gross pay, however, and does not take into account overhead each doctor pays to operate, as the Canadian Institute for Health Information is careful to point out to CNBC Make It.
In May 2016, one physician publicly broke down the cost of running his family practice, and though he brought in $231,033 ($300,000 Canadian), he was left with $136,906 ($177,876 Canadian) after subtracting his business expenses — but before taxes and employment benefits are taken out.
The cost of medical school in Canada is subsidized by provincial governments, according to The Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada. The cost varies depending on whether a student is a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or foreign student and the particular school. For Canadian citizens or permanent residents, tuition for the first year of medical school ranges from $2567 ($3,334 Canadian) to $20,064 ($26,056 Canadian), according to The Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada's website.
The same group, the Médecins Québécois pour le Régime Public (MQRP), that published the aforementioned public letter, also published a letter on February 17 opposing $500 million worth of pay increases for specialist doctors. The group called the pay increase "indecent."
And on February 1, the MQRP published a letter denouncing working conditions of nurses. "The nurses are exhausted by a heavy workload. They argue that the chronic lack of staff and the fatigue caused by repeated overtime, sometimes mandatory, for lack of replacement of the team, have an impact on the safety of patient care," the letter says.

Sir! Rebuilding Nigeria obviously isn't an overnight job.

We are aware of the state of our dear country and we decided to try this shambolic and clueless propagandarised APC and look at where we are!!! I'd rather enjoy the corruption of the previous administration to this state of calamity!

May Satan appoint your portion with a chronic nagging woman. Even if God has a better plan for you, may Satan prevail and bring a nagging abusive woman to your life.

Then maybe you will have some sense and know that emotional abuse is worse than physical abuse

Bunch of idiots will just wake up from the wrong side of their bed and begin to make baseless unprovable nonsense comments

MEXICO CITY (AP) -- A powerful earthquake jolted central Mexico on Tuesday, causing buildings to sway sickeningly in the capital on the anniversary of a 1985 quake that did major damage.

National Civil Protection chief Luis Felipe Puente tweeted that there were no reports of damage so far, but thousands of people fled office buildings along the central Reforma Avenue as alarms blared, and traffic stopped around the Angel of Independence monument

Romance / Re: Don't Marry Anyone Who Put Password On Their Phone by GeeTeeA(m): 8:08pm On Sep 19, 2017
Riwo11:
If you are single and thinking of marriage then please don't marry anyone who puts passwords or locks on their phone as a form of security to prevent you from accessing their conversations. They can surely do this for other security measures, but you must not be the reason for this action. I am very much aware that passwords or lock are for security purposes but one thing I don't approve of is when a spouse becomes the reason for that security measure.
There is nothing like secrecy or privacy in marriage, let no one deceive you there is, and let no one tell you he or she is doing that to save you from getting hurt.
Marriage is a holy institution, there is nothing like hiding. Marriage is made for life and one of the very things that can destroy it is acts of hiding things.
The bible says in Genesis 2:25 (TLB) "Now although the man and his wife were both naked, neither of them was embarrassed or ashamed". What are you embarrassed or ashamed of your spouse seeing? If you can't be truthful, honest and transparent with them, then there is no need getting married to them. It doesn't matter how you feel about them.
Mark 10:8 (NLV) says “The two will become one. So they are no longer two, but one”. I therefore suggest to you, if he or she is hiding things from you, it simply means they don’t want to become one with you. Such a marriage won’t last.
Many people don't know trust is more important than love in any relationship especially marriage. Love without trust is empty. Trust enhances love, it makes it beautiful and fortified. Trust is very essential. Not even thieves can work together if they can't trust each other. An employer and employee cannot have a good relationship if trust doesn't exist. It takes trust for citizens to elect one of their own as their leader or president. It takes trust for God to perform miracles in our lives as humans.
Your relationship is bound to fail if you agree to marry someone you don't trust.
The simple question is, if I can trust you with the most important organ in my life which is the heart, that which holds my life in the name of love, then why can't I trust you with a phone conversation or chat? If the chat is more important than me, then you don't need me in your life. I'm supposed to be the most important person in your life and can't stand the competition with passwords.
Once I agree to marry you, it means I trust you, and there is no need to suspect you, or secretly read your chats etc. in your absence. In Ephesians 5:21 (TLB) bible instructs spouses to "Honor Christ by submitting to each other". In other words, respect each other and for that matter If I need to have access to your phone or social media account, I need to seek your approval or ask for your permission.
Our goal in marriage is to be good couples. A good wife will be the husband's peace and a good husband will be the wife's protection. If you are married but find yourself guilty by this message, please change. You might not understand the damage you are causing your marriage and spouse until the same thing is done to you.
In conclusion "If you do the right thing, honesty will be your guide. But if you are crooked, you will be trapped by your own dishonesty" - Proverbs 11:3 (CEV).
Please share with your friends, someone out there needs this

Veteran Nigerian singer, Eedris Abdulkareem, has in a chat with GoldmyneTV blast singers Mr Eazi and DMW boss, Davido over their most controversial topics till date..
Recall, Mr Eazi had angered Nigerians and Nigerian artistes by saying they are copying his Ghanaian music style, while Davido drew blood after dissing Veteran publisher Dele Momodu during his end of year baby mama drama and Dubai trip..
.
Now, weighing in on the dramas, Eedris has slammed both singers..
He said;
“You must be a stupid man, you are a fool.. Number 1 you sound like Ghanaians, that’s why you are accepted that means you are not original but because its an Africans music it means you will be accepted..
Who are you to say a thing like that, that’s pride.. Same thing happened to Davido, dissing Dele Momodu, Dele Momodu made you all what you, they fought for the industry at the same time went into the politics..
If you are think you are very smart and think you have something, work on the street with that power that you have without bodyguards”

Travel / Re: Is Crossing The Mediterranean Sea by road to Europe Worth It?(Story Of Survivor) by GeeTeeA(m): 8:02pm On Sep 19, 2017
Gbethel:

The level of poverty, stress and discomfort in Nigerian is able to make one jump into anything that looks like paradise but remembers not everything that glitters is gold. It is no news of the number of people who migrates into Europe by road, endangering their life and that of their family.

Today, hundreds of thousands of people enter Italy every year and this is because Italy is one of the few European countries that helps dying people on the high sea, provide shelter for them and absorb them into the Italian System while other European countries have succeeded in closing their borders e.g. France, Germany, Netherland, Switzerland, Austria, Poland, among others. The movement into Europe majorly comes from Sub-Saharan African, North African and a large majority happens to be from (West Africa) especially Nigerians. It is important to mention that there is no war in Nigeria compared to some African countries, Nigeria presently is not economically stable but have a politically stable system (Democratic System of government)and Boko Haram has been active in Northern part of Nigeria for some years now but most of the people fleeing from Nigeria into Europe ain't from the Northern part of Nigeria.
