Rangis0: General sir! We appreciate your efforts. I saw a question asked about age and whether DSSC or SSC. Thanks your answer and I have similar question. If one would be 27 by next year september and studied metallurgical and materials engineering, what would you recommend,, SSC or DSSC? If your course is listed, go for DSSC. If it's not, go for SSC. If you will be 27 by the time of commissioning under SSC, then DSSC will be best to go for. this is because of certain factors surrounding SSC promotion |

Dammysmart: Good morning gentlemen, please i have a few questions to ask and i would be glad if i can get genuine answers from peeps here:
1. I ll be 23 next year July, am i fit to apply?? 2. I am from NYSC batch b stream 2 '17 thus, my discharge certificate is due to be out by early December. I would love to ask if i can apply still pending the call for Interview.
thanks as i anticipate. 1. Before POP you'll be 23. So you have a great chance. 2. According to an applicant I met today, he said you will be required to upload your NYSC certificate while applying. i don't know how true. If it's true, then you have to get your NYSC certificate ready before closing of NA portal by 30th Nov. i will find out and get back to you. |

MorningStar233: Thank u so very much for your time and help, I am so grateful... God bless u..did the ask for NIN or voters card number anywhere? The former will be required during Interviw but the latter won't be needed. If u don't have the former, try and get it. Don't be in a hurry to apply. Stick around and ask some questions before applyin. Those who applied early have no advantage over the ones who applied late. The selection is bin done randomly. I will get across to an officer who is in S&T and make enquiry concerning ur field of studies then get back to you. Don't apply yet until u get a feedback from me or any personnel of the NA. |

ugo4u: My dear sister just find a way and squeeze urself into any of the DSSC category any course that is "similar to yours" because if you go for SSC Allah wetin those termer 3 Prep wingers go do you ur skull ehhhh!!! but apart from that i doubt if there are provisions like separate hostels for female SSC cadets in NDA old site where the training is most likely to be done. Any female applying for SSC is wasting her time. It's not about being drilled by cadets. She won't even get shortlisted. Army stops enlisting female officers under combat course. The few females that got enlisted into the combat course via RC were all sent to non combatants corps. |

abiodunalasa: Good day oga Gen... If I have the opportunity of going for both SSC and DSSC, which one will u advice I go for. Bear in mind, I am just 26-years-old. I will advise you go for the one your heart longs for. There have been new development in the military lately and there are certain things I'd like to post here but this is Internet. There are things (especially involving the military) that shouldn't be seen online. There was amendment of ROD (run out date) by NNO for their officers commissioned under SD. For example, maximum age for SD officers holding the rank of a Lt (equivalent to capt in the army) was 49yrs. SD officer who exists the age of 49yrs and on that rank gets compulsory retirement. Now it has been reduced to 45yrs. AC has follow suit. If you notice there's changes in age requirements for Army officers cadre. The age is being reduced. This new development has made officers to retired at young age. The development favors officers who joined the system at younger age. There's something I'd like to say concerning your question on 'at 26 which you should go for between DSSC and SSC'. I can't say it. This is public forum. So many things about the military shouldn't be posted on the internet. Just follow your heart. Best luck |

ugo4u: I called the technical support team concerning the age ish, the man that picked the call said I should give it a shot. i'm already planning to settle for DSSC, if push comes to shove may God help us. cc GenAnsahCinC come crack this puzzle for us Read the instructions on the site carefully and abide by them. If u r 1minutes older than 27yrs by Jan you have a very little chance of being shortlisted for the NASB. Though nothing is impossible. Give it a shot. But in case u get shortlisted, have in mind that while going for the NASB, u will be disqualified unless u have a green link on ur file. The NA will rather pick a candidate who is below the required age than pick the one above the required age. This is because of the ROD (run out date) of the army. If you are settling for DSSC and ur not applying for any of these field (Medical, Legal, Education) I'd advise you go for NAF or NN DSSC. Their enlistment is on too. I wish you all the best.. |
