I agree with you post, that is besides the part that says ‘a region that can’t seem to get its act together’! How do you mean? And you talk as if there’s regions in this Nigeria that have ‘got their act together’!

One point i always stress is that Nigeria with its toxic politics, political-economy and unitary system of gov’t is a limiting and inhibiting factor for any region or state that wants to use its own resources to develop at their own pace! Governance in ALL states could be better, but they’re not helped by being in a country where the centre is overbearing, all-controlling and appropriates the resources they could have used to develop themselves!

And before i forget, i don’t know why people are cheering this useless development whatever! How has the one the Niger-Delta has had for decades now improved their lot….that is besides making a few directors and contractors multi-millionaires overnight!? What is the source of its funding for this new one for the south-east, and what level of funding are we looking at?

If ND didn’t use their own development well, does that mean Ibos won’t use theirs well & for good as well?
