Romance › Re: Feminist Love by genius33: 9:19pm On Jun 22, 2008
Radiant:
D'u have a brother that you always "help" to wash his clothes? D'u ever ask him to wash yours as many times as you do his? Is this feminism? grin
No it's not feminism, but it's not pleasant either, it's just the yoke we bear as women, I guess.  undecided

my brother's only three anywayz
Romance › Re: Feminist Love by genius33: 9:04pm On Jun 22, 2008
Jackal:

Romance › Re: Feminist Love by genius33: 9:03pm On Jun 22, 2008
Women may be weaker physically but not in many other respects. The man is the head of the home I agree, even though not all men want to live up to that responsibility, but if I get married I wouldn't want to feel like my life is being run by my husband, marriage isn't supposed to be a dictatorship. No one likes to feel or be treated like they are less than someone else and men should understand that. Marrying a feminist is asking for trouble tho, if she's an extremist she won't want to comply with the typical wife's role.
Romance › Re: Why Nice Guys Finish Last by genius33: 7:00pm On Jun 22, 2008
Can I just say some women do like nice guys, I love them, they always make you feel special. I can't understand why a woman would chase after a guy who probably can't even remember her name. But let me stress you can be nice but desperation is also a turn off.
Romance › Re: What Do U Do When U Love Has Got A Disease by genius33: 6:49pm On Jun 22, 2008
No one can tell you whether to stay or leave, if it's something you can handle then support them, but don't stay out of pity or because you'll look like a bad guy if you leave, stay because you want and love them.
Career › Re: Female, Wants To Be An Engineer? by genius33(op): 6:35pm On Jun 22, 2008
cuteruth:
Its always fun and people do respect female engineers.
That's certainly good to hear, I am a bit apprehensive about being able to fit in and be integrated in a male dominated work environment but I guess it's not so bad nowadays.
So would you say it's a worthwhile career or are there any obstacles you v'e had to face?
Family › Re: Mother-in-law Who Is Schizophrenic? by genius33(op): 5:56pm On Jun 22, 2008
Nwaka77:
Yes, it will. A relationship is hard enough much less with someone who is schizophrenic.
Not your partner being schizophrenic, the partner's parent , would it be a big issue to you or could you over look it, bearing in mind majority of the time the ilness is kept under control?
Crime › Re: My Dear, You Cannot Slap A Woman In America by genius33: 5:05pm On Jun 22, 2008
There is no reason why rational adults should stoop to such a level and hit their partners. If they feel this is the way to handle a dispute then they aren't mature enough to even be in a relationship. Either they have anger issues or they want a sense of control. Fear does not equal respect, your spouse may fear you but wont respect you. Regardless of what country your in it's all the same, unfortunately the Nigerian government shows little concern about the wellbeing of their citizens which differentiates us from the Americans and Europeans. There are no support groups, no social services it's every man/woman for themselves. In America if your husband slaps you or wife attacks you it becomes a federal case, as for Naija, if your husband slaps you then I'm afraid you just got slapped end of story.
Crime › Re: Can a Woman Rape a Man? by genius33: 4:35pm On Jun 22, 2008
Let's look at the definition of rape: 'to force someone to have sex with you against their will' so if for example a women holds a man at gunpoint and threatens to kill him if he does not have sex with her and he unwillingly does so, technically isn't that still rape?
Family › Re: Mother-in-law Who Is Schizophrenic? by genius33(op): 3:56pm On Jun 22, 2008
Really I'm aware of the risks, but my question is if you were in a relationship with someone, is it something that would put you off them?
Romance › Re: What Do U Do When U Love Has Got A Disease by genius33: 3:43pm On Jun 22, 2008
It's really up to the individual if their love for that person is strong enough to endure it with them. Some diseases are contagious but not deadly and of course some are both. Just ask yourself "if it was me with the disease would they stay with me?" If they would then you should be able to do the same for them.
Family › Re: Am I Gay ? by genius33: 10:02pm On Jun 21, 2008
A lot of women actually don't think the vagina is an attractive thing, I certainly don't, but I guess it's what you do with it that matters. wink
Music/Radio › Re: Top Ten Rappers Of All Time by genius33: 8:45pm On Jun 21, 2008
Someones gotta put Common in there, I mean 'I Used to Love Her' is a Hip Hop classic and the guy is very articulate with his rhymes.
Romance › Re: Playing Hard To Get: Is It Really Necessary? by genius33: 7:56pm On Jun 21, 2008
Cyclone5:
Sometimes you can get emotionally caught up even before you really know the other person. I suppose thats attraction for you. Then the sex just seals some kind of commitment. But I agree. Be cautious at all times and there never any need to tease.
Good point, seems like you can't win really  undecided
Romance › Re: Playing Hard To Get: Is It Really Necessary? by genius33: 7:49pm On Jun 21, 2008
Jackal:
I agree 100%.
Thought this day would never come wink
Romance › Re: Playing Hard To Get: Is It Really Necessary? by genius33: 7:42pm On Jun 21, 2008
In that case if someone wants to agree to that they can, now that we've come full circle I'll state my opinion as: playing hard to get and being cautious are two different things, Teasing someone or playing games is uncalled for, like I said before if you like them be straight with them. Just be sure of them first, before  becoming emotionally involved in a relationship.
Family › Re: Mother-in-law Who Is Schizophrenic? by genius33(op): 7:30pm On Jun 21, 2008
I think it has, it's more a case of genetic factors combined with environmental factors that determine wether you suffer from it. For example, If two people both have one schizophrenic parent and Person A had a happy upbringing and a moderately happy life and Person B had a troubled childhood e.g abuse and an unstable life then person B is more likely to suffer from it. It is quite rare though because something usually triggers it like drug abuse or depression etc. smiley

Career › Re: Who Is Your Mentor?. by genius33: 6:58pm On Jun 21, 2008
My mentor is Jesus, I want to be just like him. grin Seriously, I don't have anyone I can look up to in my life to guide me, so I look up to the epitome of perfection.
Romance › Re: Playing Hard To Get: Is It Really Necessary? by genius33: 6:54pm On Jun 21, 2008
Where I'm from that expression usually means willing to go to bed with someone, fare enough.

About the history thing, if I found that a guy had even a few sexaul relationships in the past I would want him to get checked out first for my own peace of mind. If he doesn't want to, then we can call it a day.
Romance › Re: Playing Hard To Get: Is It Really Necessary? by genius33: 6:04pm On Jun 21, 2008

You can learn such history while the relationship is on, can't u?
Sure you can, on your way to the STD clinic  tongue
Romance › Re: Playing Hard To Get: Is It Really Necessary? by genius33: 5:53pm On Jun 21, 2008
I also feel it's irresponsible if you've only just met the person, you need to atleast know their history, they could have sumthing! If your already friends, then there is a little more trust i suppose. undecided

@ topic

It's necessary as a teenager- We all know at that stage there are a lot of randy and whorish boys tongue just wanting to get into your pants, so a girl has to guide her heart by playing hard to get  cool. But as you grow older, you are likely to take the bull by the horns wink.
That's certainly true didn't think of that smiley
Romance › Re: Playing Hard To Get: Is It Really Necessary? by genius33: 5:21pm On Jun 21, 2008
@ jackal

so if u were to ask a girl out, are u saying you wouldn't hold anything back. If you really like her you'd tell her exactly how you feel even if your not sure she feels the same way. You'll spend time and money on her and wouldn't mind if it didn't work out?

*just curious*
Romance › Re: Playing Hard To Get: Is It Really Necessary? by genius33: 5:10pm On Jun 21, 2008
Doesn't mean they can't bond and gradually the other person let's their guard down, maybe I'm just biased, but as they say "once bitten, twice shy" .
