Everyone's comments are very much appreciated, they've given me more insight into the reality of the actual career prospects than most Universities, I've been to, have done. Thanx   smiley

ijaygal:
na wa o, no be small thing person don go through all in the name of finding true love. as for me sha, my gist too hot that if i begin put am down, na wahala. but make i talk am small:

1. i have had to borrow money to buy him things on his birthday to please him still he went out with another babe to celebrate it.

2. there was a time he travelled, i had to wait for him in the airport to welcome him only for me to spend 9hrs without him showing up. when i called him he told me he changed plans. still i forgave and stayed in d r/ship.

3. they were times i was robbed while coming back from his place at night.

4. is it the ceaseless beatings? still i stayed thinking that it was love.

5. i have had to steal my mum's food stuff to cook for him evn money when he was broke.

6. abi na the way e dey treat me infront of his friends?

7. i even help am the look for job (the waka lagos the submit CVs).

8. abi na the unfaithfulness part? enough babes in his house.

then ONE DAY after a hot beating from him, i told myself "NO MORE, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH". to his suprise, i walked out of the relationship for good and never looked back. he thot i was joking!!! by the time it was like 3 months and he hadn't heard from me, he knew i meant biz.
now i'm married to a guy that knows what it really and truely means to love a woman. and life cldn't be better,

there was a time i saw my ex at a busstop and i gave him a lift with my babies behind the car, he cldn't believe it was this same girl he treated like shit that was now very far ahead of him in life. some times, i do ask myself what i was thinking then.

so, yes we did alot of shits in the past but its the ability to realise we need to move out of that r/ship and move on that matters. because these guys we dey break head for no dey appreciate am. i believe a true r/ship is one u don't struggle or break your head to make it work. things will just flow naturally,
So glad to hear you had the strength to leave that monster, so many women put up with crap out of fear.

civil/structural engineering is one of the safest bet in terms of jobs.
peeps/governments will always build one thing or the other because of the theory of demand/supply.
demand in terms of annual percentage increase in birth rate plus peeps are starting to live longer in western world
think of migration, expansion and stuffs

the roads/buildings need to be maintained so job security is first class.
trust me you not going to get stuck designing drainage or street lights. you might have to do it for the first year or two assuming you r in the transport industry but normal career progression will lead you to more of managing the whole project rather than the actual design.

design is usually for technicians and graduates whilst experience engineers tend to be more of project managers in their respective fields.
Thanks Jay bee, my own personal careers adviser lolgrin Everyone's comments are much appreciated smiley The only reason I was confused is cos I've been to so many sources and some people are positive while others are quite discouraging and make me wonder what I could be getting my self into. BUT I'll do what I feel is ideal for me regardless. grin
Career › Re: Female, Wants To Be An Engineer? by genius33(op): 3:18pm On Jun 26, 2008
The employment prospects are the only thing that worry me as you can get stuck designing street lamps or drainage systems, menial jobs like that. And it also depends on the economy, whether there's a lot of building or not.

Lets start from what you enjoy in engineering?
fixing things (electrical or electronics)
programming
computers
telephony
buildings
aerospace
nuclear
minning
oil

Then what do u see yourself doing once graduated?
on a ship
drilling oils
designing roads
seperating hydrocarbons
generating power
Definitely, love buildings, bridges etc,  all the other disciplines don't appeal to me.

When I've graduated I'd love to be involved in carrying out huge construction projects from roads to airports or commercial buildings.

I was very much set on civil engineering because I previously wanted to be an architect, but decided against for several reasons. But now I am also considering mechanical because it's a lot broader. Which do people feel is more worthwile?

But overall Chris because he's also very funny and charismatic.

Honestly, it gets boring to me.
I'd rather listen to D12's "Devil's Night" to Mariah Carey's albums.
Rap if free. . . . . . .It allows me to listen to em special words the likes of Mariah Carey don't say in the public BUT say privately.
I'm not her biggest fan either but she helped me make a point. I love lauryn, erykah, India Arie, D'angelo, The Roots, Sade, cheesy Beautiful and their songs do have some depth to them too.

Music/Radio › Re: Top Ten Rappers Of All Time by genius33: 2:44am On Jun 25, 2008
@ the sly & Jackass oops

i'm tired, very tired  undecided

There is a lot more to r&b than voice decoders and women flaunting their bodies. If you've studied music you'd know. But you havn't, so keep quiet. I will stand by my claim that it is harder to sing Properly than it is to rap. I give the rappers their dues but come on, talking over a track and singing can't be compared. cool

It is very easy. . . . .
All a woman has to do is to have curves, boobs and be willing to show more flesh.
Voice would come out after all those. . . . . .Can Amerie sing??
No and she's not making millions is she, neither is Cassie though P.Diddy's trying all sorts to get her publicity. The curves, boobs and everything else it's all to gain sex appeal, that's for the men, I'm not going to sit and listen to her screeching just cos she's half naked.  sad

If you cant sing people wont buy your records end of story so it's not as easy as it looks.

@ genius33,

Is J.Lopez talented??
What about Jessica Simpson?? grin cheesy
R-n-B is so wack any lazy artiste can dabble into it. . . . .Genevieve and Omo-T are R-n-B stars. grin cheesy
oooh, plz don't mention their names here they are strictly POP singers if you can even call them singers?
Music/Radio › Re: Top Ten Rappers Of All Time by genius33: 2:18am On Jun 25, 2008
The Sly:
Tell 'em. . .R & B and Rocks are epitomes of Bullshits!!

Pathetic Usher song. . . . sad

You say you searching for somebody . . . . . . . That'll take you out and do you right
Well come here baby and let daddy show you what it feel like
You know all you gotta do is tell me what you sippin' on
?? huh huh sad

Now feel the cold truth from ma boy. . .THE KING OF THE SOUTH!!!. . cool

God'll take you through hell just to get you to heaven
So even know its heavy the load i will carry
Grin grin and still bear it . . . win and still share it cool

Life can change ya directions . . . . even when you aint planned it
All you can do is handle i . . . . the worst thing you could do is panic
Use it to your advantage. . . . avoid insanity manage to conquer every obstacle

Make impossible possible . . . even when winnings illogical
Losing's still far from optional . . . yeah they want to see you shot up in the hospital
But one life throw punches, block ya counter like a boxer do. . .

Le chac. . .Tell me which R & B or Rock artist would ever come up with an inspirational lyrics like this! cool
Those few songs you hear on the radio/ tv or whatever are just commercial to sell records. So that's a bad example. Like there aren't rappers that talk about nonsense too. Soldier Boy I rest my case cool

You are missing. . . . .
It's the use of words in unlikely contexts to make rhymes that takes me breath away about RAP.
Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez. . . . . .It's a pure work of ART.
Well the difference between singing and rapping is you actually need talent to be trully successful. (if your a woman you might have to show a little skin) But talent comes first! cool

There's nuthing to enjoy in R-n-B.
Everything revolves around making love and breaking up. . . . .
I don't know why people listen to it. . . . What lessons do u learn from such crappy music??
Personally, I'm a singer so Gospel, R&B, Soul, Blues it's like heaven! grin
I find it more fulfilling than listening to a drumbeat and someone droning over it for 3 minutes. You listen and enjoy grin grin
