Flashing ROMs is not my forte. Go to the Xiaomi Tweaking thread and seek answers there.

Start by Unlocking Bootloader. That is the easiest. You can google it on how it is done

After downloading follow instructions below.
How to manually update..

Go to Settings > About phone > System update.

If tapping the 3-dot button shows the “Choose update package” option, click on that and choose the downloaded ROM from your internal storage or SD card. In case you don’t find the “Choose update package” option from the 3-dot menu, tap on the MIUI 11/12 logo inside the “System update” page several times. A prompt will then show that additional updater settings are now available. Now you can tap on Choose update package and select the MIUI 11/12 update file

That’s it. The system will start decrypting the file and install it automatically for you. Wait for it to finish the process, which may take 10-30 mins

Data should be on during the decryption process

Someone update his Note 8 to MIUI version 12.5 and since then every attempt to use Google apps have been proving abortive.

Please any help.

He is using Chinese ROM. And Google services are currently been disabled from Chinese ROM for lots of phones.

I have 2 issues with my Redmi Note 9 since I installed the latest update
1. The screen doesn't go off again duringcallswhen I bring the phone close to my ear
2. Sometimes the earpiece doesn't work during calls; I have to pur the phone on speaker to hear the other party. The next day, even without any repairs, the ear piece starts working normally again.

Can anyone help?

Except you want to download the full ROM do your update from here because the incremental update link available is for those on 12.0.15 and you are on 12.0.14.

If you want to be doing incremental updates manually it is advisable not to skip updates
