Just tap the three horizontal lines in the camera app, you will see 48Mp mode and other stuffs including settings there

Then I moved to iPhone 8 now I am finally using a Xiaomi cos there is nothing like using an android is. The default resolution is 12MP but it has a 48MP mode.
