Genius, I'm completely a noob about this.. Why does one need to turn off WiFi and Bluetooth scanning... Any side effect if one does not turn it off

It reduces battery drain. It started been on by default on android 9 based MIUI 10.

When turned on the phone will be attempting to scan for WiFi and Bluetooth network even if you turn off your WiFi and Bluetooth, leading to increase battery consumption.

Disable WiFi and Bluetooth scanning by searching for them from the search box in settings.

If you a Camera person download and install Gcam, if you need a link request for it.

I told you it's not straight forward. You first have to unlock your bootloader (if it is not already), install a custom recovery, enable camera2api before you can install Gcam

GCam on Mi Max 3 is not as straight forward as Pocophone Redmi Note 7, Redmi 7 and other new devices.

My grouse is with people hurting whenever something unflattering is said about their phones.

Watch that video very well, he was even praising the device to high heavens. The only problem he had was just the selfie camera. He even contrasted it with the back camera and say it takes excellent shots.

To me that review was an excellent review for the k20 pro, he more or less gave it a pass mark, yet because he mentioned just one flaw in the shape of the selfie camera, see how ya'll came for his head. That's overreacting. Even then somebody who uses the phone confirmed the guy was more or less correct.

You guys should try to take things easy, there is no perfect device out there

No one said there is any perfect device and heck no/fee OEM would really churn out all features on one device because they have other devices they want to keep afloat in the market.

My first comment on that video was that he probably got a faulty unit which Xiaomi will most likely replace.
