The General Overseer of God’s Favour Ministry, Iba, Lagos State, Pastor Daniel Onwugbufor, has been arrested by the Nigeria Police Force, Ogun State command, for armed robbery.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.

According to the Police PRO, “The pastor was arrested along with one Israel Animashaun recently through technical intelligence by men of Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) led by Uba Adams.

The Lagos State Government, on Saturday, sealed the zonal headquarters, Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), in Ajegunle, Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government, a hotel in Ikeja and six other structures, for allegedly breaking government seal and developing the structures illegally in the state.

No fewer than 11 artisans found within the sealed building premises when officials of Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), visited were arrested, arraigned before an Ebute Meta Mobile Court, and sentenced to different jail terms.

Oba Ewuare II, stated this when he received the Spiritual Leader and General Overseer of Spirit and Life Family Bible Church, Apostle Deb’rah Eunice Gordon-Osagiede, in his palace in Benin.

He stated that reports indicated that some church leaders were encouraging human trafficking and illegal migration, instead of discouraging encouraging it.

The Nigeria Police Force, Oyo State Command, on Thursday, paraded a pastor, an Islamic cleric, and two others, for allegedly caught with suspected human parts in the Ayegun area of Ibadan.

The State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Odude, said Alfa, Sulaiman Hamed, 35, participated in the Fidau prayers for a dead man but later contracted two men to exhume the corpse because he needed the body parts for money ritual.

According to Odude, the two accomplices; Olapade Saheed, 32, and Olatunji Abiodun, 26 – were later caught with the deceased’s head and other body parts, leading to the arrest of Hamed and Tope Akinyele, 45, who claimed to be the pastor of a church in Ojagbo, in the Oranyan area of Ibadan.

The body also opposed the establishment of cattle colonies across the federation, pointing out that the move was tantamount to creating the colonies for the “foreigners to continue to wage unrelenting war against innocent Nigerians.

The chapter secretary, Rev. (Dr.) Sunday Ibrahim, during a briefing yesterday in Kaduna, called on the electorate to vote credible persons at the 2019 elections.Speaking while receiving the leadership of the state council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ibrahim said government had failed in delivering governance.

Bishop Oyedepo, had, during the service, revealed how he got connected with the Adeboyes and how God used Baba Adeboye during his wife’s illness.

Oyedepo said, “The Lord connected us by divine direction to the spiritual family tree of Baba Adeboye. During the time of my wife’s challenge she was already published as dead and they went to Redemption Camp to distribute it.”

The Catholic Church, on Wednesday, raised concerns over the growing instreaming of Cameroonian refugees into border communities in Cross River State, Nigeria.

Caritas Nigeria, an arm of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN), said the influx of the refugees into Nigeria has compounded already impoverished Nigerian communities.
The National Director of Caritas Nigeria, Rev. Fr Evaristus Bassey, said in a statement that “recently, there has been increased agitation for self-actualization in Cameroon, which has led to the destruction of life and destabilization of the polity and eventual migration of the people of South-West Cameroon into Nigeria through the borders and has created a refugee situation in some states of Nigeria.

“Facing the tragic continuation of conflicts in different parts of the world, I invite all the faithful to a special day of prayer and fasting for peace Feb. 23, the Friday of the first week of Lent,” the Pope said Feb. 4.

He asked that the day be offered specifically for the people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and South Sudan and invited both non-Catholics and non-Christians to join “in the ways they deem most appropriate.”

The operatives of the Nigerian Army on the 1st of February, 2018 killed three persons who were trying to kidnap a cleric, who pastors with Mountain of Fire Ministries at Isiokpo community, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The abductors had trailed the victim, identified as Pastor Lawrence, to his home in the morning to kidnap him when luck ran out on them.

A source who pleaded anonymity, disclosed that the cleric while driving home had noticed that a car was trailing him.

Covenant University beat University of Lagos and Obafemi Awolowo University which emerged second and third place winners respectively, in the competition held in Lagos on Saturday.

Covenant University will consequently represent Nigeria at the Regional CFA competition in Dublin, Ireland, on April 4 and April 5.

A 52-year-old pastor, Sunday Obiali, was arraigned by security officials on Friday at Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly forging land documents.

Obiali, a resident of Mushin, Lagos, is charged with for forgery and damage. According to the prosecutor, Sgt. Aondohemba Koti, the accused committed the offence on April 2, 2017 at Okota, Lagos.

He said that the accused forged a document for a plot of land belonging to Mr Emmanuel Okpala. “The accused illegally occupied a land belonging to the complainant, ” he said. Koti said that the accused and the complainant fought over the plot of land.

A nun who was kidnapped nearly a year ago in Mali has cried for help in a video in which she asks Pope Francis to intervene.

Franciscan Sister Gloria Cecilia Narvaez Argoti of Columbia was kidnapped on February 7, 2017 in Karangasso, near Koutiala in southern Mali, close to the border with Burkina Faso. She had been working there as a missionary for six years.

Previously, she had appeared in a video broadcast in July 2017 by the ‘Groupe de soutien à l’ Islam et aux musulmans’, which reporters said was the main jihadist alliance in the Sahel region, linked to al-Qaida. It showed six Western hostages kidnapped in Mali or Burkina Faso.
