Litmus: We Nigerians are a very ambitious people, let’s not spoil this mindset by setting lower standard for ourselves by copying average just because our leaders have been neglectful by setting their eyes on other goals. Settling for average sometimes because we want to tell ourselves, we do not want to be arrogant, will not lead to the type of Nigeria we want.
If average can be doing better than us,why not copy them,we just called ourselves african gaint with nothing to show for it
RuudVanNisteroy: That is why many cities are prone to flooding. Sites meant for drainages were sold for residential purposes. I see no hope for Nigeria, just look at the candidates they are pushing for 2023. It is like Nigerians swore an oath to keep their oppressors responsible for all their ills in power forever.
They see other nations like Botswana,Namibia, Rwanda moving forward and refuse to choose visionary new leaders who care about bringing the country into the 21st century.
We suppose to push for a youth take over by creating a youth party, that's what's gon be out protest
Ades1234: U guys will just pick pen and write rubbish, How many cars and human uses those street? Nigeria seems to be the largest black nation in the world and the numbers of cars in Lagos is even more human in some of those city u posted Although corruption is killing and bad leader but comparing the most densely and populated nation of our to those tiny country is an insult, Some of u guys have not travel from ur crave Stop disgracing Nigeria. OK
If there was sanity and rules that guide the public,no matter how many we are sacrifices go dey for everyone,go out there you would and see how scattered the environment is,no planning at all,
The most building here suppose to be units, where people can live instead of lettering the city with flats
People were already burning police stations and attacking police men, what did you expect the government to do... The governor only tried to save the people but una too stubborn to see the warning
Neddstark: So government no get power to impose curfew when police stations are being burnt and attacked? With all the education you have, government cannot impose curfew untill your demands are met abi?
So to impose curfew, you must kill innocent citizens?
ethicallyright: The Distinguished and Intelligent Lagos State Governor, Sanwo- Olu, is just a victim of the anarchy of narcissistic and prideful uninformed youths, clandestine manipulation of the undemocratic opposition party , class struggle of the lazy and unproductive majority , violent schemes of the fraudulently ambitious socialists and cowardly motivation from a failed secessionist group. He intelligently imposed a curfew to enforce order in the state he was democratically elected to govern in order to balance conflicting human rights which is the obligation every responsible government anywhere in the world must observe. The same chapter 4 of the Nigerian Constitution which confers rights of protest and "peaceful" assembly on Nigerians also grants Nigerians the freedom of movement which road blockades built by the insolent protesters denied breadwinners looking for their daily bread. For instance , to safeguard the right to life by protecting the health of the vulnerable, Governments across the world restricted the right of citizens to freedom of worship and movement through a necessary lockdown and the responsible citizens adhered to this directive which was to balance conflicting rights. Blocking roads , freeing prisoners, killing law enforcement agents and looting arms were not only the infringement of the fundamental rights of Nigerians but felonious crimes. To maintain law and order that was fast deserting the Urban South Western Nigerian city,it was necessary to call in the army to assist the almost defeated police force. Even though there is no strong evidence that people died at Lekki Toll gate a month ago, it is important to add that even if they did die, they were the collateral damage necessary to restore law and order and also abolish anarchy.
if no be say you dey crazy,we are protesting, you dey impose curfew, why not answer our demand first
olumide4christ: Who are "you guys" you are referring to?
I am not a Northerner, I am a Southerner, I am not poor, I am not a Bigot, I am in total support of the initial 5 point demands of the protesters.
I cannot join you to protest because I know that protests don't get the best results from government. Trump has not listened to Black Lives Matter protesters for over 4 months, he has rather castigated them. Black Americans have gone to the polls to make their voices heard already. That's a better way of changing things than protests. I can't join you for protests because you protesters trampled on the rights of others to freedom of movement by blocking all major roads for 2 weeks, preventing us from going about our lawful activities, whereas you claimed you had fundamental rights of protests. I will never support illegality or injustice. Thank you.
Mayniaa: And if you are purposely lying or twisting the truth, may you and your children die a more gruesome DEATH and they will call it fake news by the special grace of the lost souls you are lying against
Heavensent01: I concur, the state govt have declared a curfew, if this had happened in Military regime, all this sympathetic about some ignorance defying govt order won't be regarded at all
these imbeciles cost the unnecessary lost of lives and burning, they deserve no pity, if they like let their death toll rise to 1m I don't give a damn
olumide4christ: Hahaha...they call us Fulani slaves when we refuse to join them to abuse the government but when elections come, PDP will pick Fulani presidential candidate in Atiku and they will come and shout Atikulated up and down. It happened in 2019, it will surely happen in 2023.
On the contrary, the last time I voted was in 2011..I haven't voted for either Buhari or Atiku. Who then is the SLAVE - Me or Them who will eternally vote for PDP and their Northern candidates?
SMH!
we forbid anything that comes from you guys in jesus name, why won't you join us in protesting for a better Nigeria?
All you guys want is to rule, you are not concerned about the rate of poverty in the north
Exjoker: There was shooting and many people were injured. It is disheartening and i would say all those soldiers should be prosecuted for it. But then, fake newsfake news has played a vital role in amplifying the aftermath of lekki tollgate. X1000 was carried out after the incident because of the spread of fake news. Note:Until now there are only two confirm death officially and before you should start saying the government is hiding the actual figures. Notice how nobody has come out yet to raise alarm of a lost member even many days after the incident. Even when big media house like CNN and BBC are demanding for evidence, until now nobody has presented any evidence yet. CNN even gave out a number for people who lost a family member or even know anyone who lost a life during the incident to reach them with evidence, but nobody is yet to come out.
Even if its two lives lost, how will you call it just,
George Floyd death is the cause of black lives matter
mascot87: I swear with my blood, we will bring all you iPod down. You think what you did in Lagos some few days ago will repeat itself? We have learnt our lessons that you are against the progress of SW and you want to burn Lagos down. We will resist you 100%
