There is no fun in a debate when people are convinced that you copied....even if they have such thoughts, it should be assumptions. Now look at all that was deducted just because of referencing. How then would our score though we won stand against other schools. I dont see any deductions for sms language, so why should referencing be added now. Honestly, not fair. No offence intended, just passing a message. Thank you
EducationRe: Nairaland Interschool Debate: Winner:::NDU::: by getrichfast: 7:57am On Dec 21, 2013
You telling us to reference simply means what we compiled is not useful to you, you prefer to go to the source. Isnt the aim of this debate for us to compile and educate people?? Why then do we have to put the source. Has it occoured to you that our opponents can use our source against us?? Has it occured to you that some writers put down both negative and positive?? What happens then when we take the positive, and then our opponents go to the site and use the negative against us. These are things you should consider

Wait o, let me get this straight....UI---66.5.... Is it magic or jazz, or is it because of pity, that one debater raised virtually all of those points against two people.
listen, when i did all that amount of puncturing, i know what i was doing. I know he wont reply to all, and so it was. You can go through the thread again.
secondly, on my first debate, no mark was deducted for referencing. Doing this is just like telling a debater physically to state which page on google or which teacher told him what to say. Hope you get my point

Epaul: @getfastrich, argueably, cashless policy is susceptible to the infestion of cyber "thieves" if implemented, What measures do you think can be put in place to curtail such susceptibility to theft so as not to charitably hand the hard-earned money of nigerians to hackers and their ilks?
the use of a sophisticated system, and proper prosecution of the perpertrators
EducationRe: Nairaland Interschool Debate: Winner:::NDU::: by getrichfast: 7:58pm On Dec 20, 2013
It would take a hacker from an advanced country to hack our own system, because trust me, when u talk cashless, your talking sophisticated
EducationRe: Nairaland Interschool Debate: Winner:::NDU::: by getrichfast: 7:51pm On Dec 20, 2013
@Damitism. Do u think anyone enjoys the cops and law being after them?? Even they would reason, you gat a job, u are been paid, the law aint after u, isnt that what we all want??
EducationRe: Nairaland Interschool Debate: Winner:::NDU::: by getrichfast: 7:47pm On Dec 20, 2013
@Damitism, just like a thief can be used to catch a thief, knowing the tactics and all, same goes to the hackers. Do u think anyone wants to create a bad image?? They just want to be noticed. Giving them the opportunity to use their skils 4 gud is a wise decision
EducationRe: Nairaland Interschool Debate: Winner:::NDU::: by getrichfast: 7:26pm On Dec 20, 2013
@Damitism, like i said earlier, the credit card system has been upgraded with an extra pin known and available to the owner. This triggers a notification to you anytime your card is about to be used, and you can easily cancel it. In terms of the hackers. The government can actually use them. What they have are skills, not packaged crime. No cyberspace is perfect. We must start from somewhere. Would you rather have the whole world go cashless, and we left behind because you underestimate your country??
EducationRe: Nairaland Interschool Debate: Winner:::NDU::: by getrichfast: 6:55pm On Dec 20, 2013
Sorry about that @boay. My replies after the rebuttals are directed to the judge's question
EducationRe: Nairaland Interschool Debate: Winner:::NDU::: by getrichfast: 6:43pm On Dec 20, 2013
In terms of being user friendly, that is a basic factor, and over time, it has been adhered to, so i dont think this would be any different
EducationRe: Nairaland Interschool Debate: Winner:::NDU::: by getrichfast: 6:39pm On Dec 20, 2013
It is something worth the cost. It is an obvious fact that nigeria is not new in terms of spending. Most of our leaders spend on unimportant things. With a little persuasion, such money can be put to something that would benefit the country
EducationRe: Nairaland Interschool Debate: Winner:::NDU::: by getrichfast: 6:16pm On Dec 20, 2013
Aysuccess, then, the government would be effectively monitored by the CBN, as for the bankers, you tell me, now, have they stolen your money?? Though its as easy as cutting it and telling you its short while your absent minded, probably registering your entry
EducationRe: Nairaland Interschool Debate: Winner:::NDU::: by getrichfast: 6:11pm On Dec 20, 2013
Aysuccess......nicely pointed out, but u contradict your own statement, if developed countries venture into it, get hacked and still survive, then nigeria a DEVELOPING country will surely survive too. It doesnt take a country 1 day to become developed, but it takes a few seconds to decide to try something new which is the basis of life. In addition, like i said, NIGERIA has only but a few smart people capable of performing such actions, but in advanced countries, you have a lot of them. Therefore, i can confidently say such cyber crimes would be lesser in Nigeria
EducationRe: Nairaland Interschool Debate: Winner:::NDU::: by getrichfast: 6:02pm On Dec 20, 2013
Aysuccess, you would agree with me that the nigerian banking services can be frustrating when it comes to lining up at the bank to make a deposit. You would also agree with me that though the ATM dispenses cash, it can be used for many other functions. Il point out the interbank transfer. This, i see as a cashless service, as it lets you transfer cash to someone else, saving you the queue up, time etc.
EducationRe: Nairaland Interschool Debate: Winner:::NDU::: by getrichfast: 5:57pm On Dec 20, 2013
Aysuccess, it takes people who are smart, as well as computer literates to hack, but it takes a common man in partnership with a gun or ammunition to rob you anytime of the day, which could probably lead to loss of life. You would agree with me that in a cashless society, you can't be a target, as you and a poor man can only be seen with a little cash and a credit card. Cashless policy is also seen in mobile banking. As you can see, it saves time, energy and is easier
EducationRe: Nairaland Interschool Debate: Winner:::NDU::: by getrichfast: 5:50pm On Dec 20, 2013
Aysuccess, power might be a problem in our country, but you can agree with me that virtually every company or business has a backup plan. Institutions are seen with power, both financial and business related. So the cashless system poses no problem
EducationRe: Nairaland Interschool Debate: Winner:::NDU::: by getrichfast: 5:47pm On Dec 20, 2013
Sony is not a country, secondly, its is not operating a cashless policy in its country of origin. They were hacked, and lost money, mostly due to the fact that some customers backed out, and the details, like card pins etc were hacked. The victims lost the money, and the company only in a law suit
EducationRe: Nairaland Interschool Debate: Winner:::NDU::: by getrichfast: 5:38pm On Dec 20, 2013
Emphasis was also made on the malfunctions in the computer system. A well secured code as you know would be used for the cashless society. Take for example the master card. Before now, hacking it was as easy as getting the 16 digit pin, the Security number and expiry date. But due to advances in the digital world, an extra pin has been created which is known to just the owner of the card. So even if all other figures are gotten, without that pin, nothing can be done to that account @aysuccess
